Thanks for that. They should still have tried to source other references though, I have never known an employer not to run reference checks on staff - it's very important.

My employer is a global company and didn't ask for my references before hiring me. Been there nearly 2 years and it's been a fairly standard experience with no massive red flags, so maybe it's not ubiquitous anymore

When I've been employed in academia they did always check references so maybe sectors vary?

Honestly, if I’m paying a hefty delivery fee, it’s not to inconvenience myself even more by having to commute 30 minutes away from where I live to pick up my packages. I don’t have a car, so that means I also have to add transportation costs to the fee. I’m not doing that.

It’s not my responsibility to do UPS’s job when I’m paying a full blown delivery fee.

There’s a reason they don’t want their employees having people’s phone numbers.
But fair enough if that doesn’t work for you, then I guess you’ll just need to do without

Same. Toner is optional. Tbh OP just look at it as an overall price that’s been broken down to explain where the costs come from.

My V6 box has been stuck on reboot for over 24 hours. It goes to the welcome bit, then starting up, then just resets the cycle again. Also it sometimes show a little arrow download on the screen but then just resets again. Anyone had this issue and know how to solve it? I've got a technician coming out next week but would rather sort it myself if I can as I'll lose all my recordings.

The last time mine did that, I needed a new box. Hope you fair better!

I have salt and pepper hair that is very short and bleached white. but I have to bleach it twice to get it white (it has a yellow tinge after the first bleach


What should I use to get it white the first go? At the moment I use Blonde by Choice Blue Velvet, Premium Hair Lightener with Kobe Cream peroxide 9% (30 VOL)

If I put a toner on it goes blue or purple and I don't want that.

What am I doing wrong?

Might be a dumb question but do you use foils? Seems that helps develop better. 40 vol is so damaging

Have you tried looking on local Facebook groups or Next Door to see if anyone else is discussing?

There's nothing about it on the community pages an I know a few people in the other estates that's close an they have said they didn't get anything, am going assume it's some sort of scam an most people are thinking that as well, just the first time I've ever had some sort of scam in the design of a "questionnaire" am used to phone calls an texts but not actual mail

This person in mind works for shelter too as it’s too rural for them to come here - I cannot get to swansea for an appointment (their suggestion). There’s no community centre or anything like that anymore as they’ve been closed. When we did have them I did approach but the cost was far more than the room I’ve found.

I made the suggestion of them paying as much as they would for the other rooms as I cannot manage the full amount and I’d top up (as a compromise) but they’ve refused that. They are insisting there’s not an access issue (as they can manage the acccess but they’re not physically disabled) and I’m being “deliberately difficult”. They do not have my condition and I cannot risk falling and ending up in hospital (which was what happened last time before condition deteriorated this much).

In terms of complaint I was thinking more of contacting Mind Cymru and asking them about it? I don’t have any time left for complaints. My health is declining rapidly and need this sorted before I end up in hospital and trapped there.

To clarify: I’ve not been doing nothing with regards to the issues/finding somewhere else. It’s taken this long to tenancy worker to see me and I’ve been trying for months but she’s been off ill and then away for Christmas and is only part time.

You could contact Mind Cymru and they may offer an alternative but if they’re making reasonable attempts to accommodate you, they’re not obliged to find a solution or provide compensation. They’ve already said you’re not entitled to their service.
If you were entitled, they can’t try to charge you to use a free service. It is discriminatory to not provide a service because it’s cheaper than providing an alternative, but they could argue that they’re not the ones charging.
“Service providers must make 'reasonable adjustments' to allow a disabled person to use their services. If they don't do this, they must be able to show that their failure to do so is reasonable..”

If you were entitled to use the service, What you’re experiencing could be indirect discrimination.

“To prove that indirect discrimination is happening or has happened:

• there must be a policy which an organisation is applying equally to everyone (or to everyone in a group that includes you)
• the policy must disadvantage people with your protected characteristic when compared with people without it
• you must be able to show that it has disadvantaged you personally or that it will disadvantage you
• the organisation cannot show that there is a good reason for applying the policy despite the level of disadvantage to people with your protected characteristic”

In summary, it may be discrimatory but it’ll take time and effort to prove it and you’ll probably not gain anything from it. On the basis you’re not eligible for their service anyway, I don’t think it’s worth pursuing.

Of course but you can see if it's registered and what it's registered as, if anyone else has reported it, that's more what I meant. It's a very serious scam if it is one, Id report it to the police. There's no reason a flood defence company needs that kind of information. How much do you earn and how many hours are you home a day are a massive red flag!!

I'll have a look an see what I can find out, the whole estate has gotten the letter it seems as well

Check if it’s a Government questionnaire. You can get fined for not filling those in. It should have a legit number on there that reference it back.

Sounds dodgy to me.

I guess that answers my question I was about to ask, I wanted to know how a blocked channel kept showing videos on yt, I have my nieces account up an blocked that god awful Roma an Diana but I still see their videos come up, I didn't think to check if it was other accounts as I assumed it was there's since it shows them an couldn't figure out how that shit kept coming on her page

I’ve found anything that gets a lot of views will get reposted by people trying to cash and lots of fan accounts but Roma & Diana also have their own different accounts. Their main one ‘kids Diana show’ then he’s got one the same then there’s ‘Roma Diana EN’ the English account and so on. There’s tons of them!

I did ask this morning as I thought that was the right thing to do, he said he doesn’t understand me and he has no idea whether I should go. Which made me have another breakdown (but I have spoken to a friend and to my mum so had some support). So I apologised and he told me again what I’m doing to him which I feel absolutely terrible about. I have told him I love him and I want to fix things and he has now text to say to come over. But the party starts soon (if not already) and I just feel worse now after this mornings conversation but I know it’s my own fault so I’ll just get myself ready and go.

So we have had a letter through the door from some random company about flood defences, it's to be filled in but am not comfortable giving the details they want, what they want to know is

Who owns the house
How much it was bought for
If it's paid off or how much the mortgage is
Jobs an salaries
How long a day we are in the house
What we pay in bills

Is this legal to ask these things? I don't know who this company is or why they want to know this, they are nothing to do with the housing estate, it's just some random company, they also haven't told us anything about what flood defenses they are doing like what they are putting up or where

It said if we didn't fill it out they could show up at our door an fine us for it or face imprisonment, is this a way to scare us into filling this out?

My doctor is booking 28 days in advance now. There have been times I can’t book an appointment because they can’t book over a month in advance and they’re full.
You have to call on the day at 8.30 for any chance of an appointment, you’ll hit the call button and already be 14th in the queue. I’ve sat many times to be told “sorry, all gone, try again tomorrow”. Rarely see the same doc twice, often not even a GP but a nurse practitioner. I’m not even in a big city or town. It’s appalling.

My 2.5 year old was put in for a referral at the hospital. They told me they were booked 4 months in advance and couldn’t book more so they had to wait on file. A child!

Back on topic - I would put in a complaint about their indiscretion and gossiping. That’s bang out of order!!

I guess I do have the benefit with it being small that I can get quick appointments but the con in it is management just don't care if the staff gossip about patients, small towns aren't the greatest when everyone knows everyone an they all talk 🫤

Does he have a HR he could report to or higher management not within his workplace? Or tbh he’d be within his rights to call the police with random people turning up at his home address which he’s not given permission to or consented to his address being given out Am not sure if there's higher...

I love the astonish mould and mildew spray. Spray it around the windows and doors on a cold morning leave 5 mins then wipe away and never get any mould and it doesn’t rub off or damage any wall paint

Agree it's fab, I use it in my porch. Also I have an island with a white top and it lifts ANY stain without damage.

The freezer has been left ajar , probably overnight , would you still eat the food inside.?
It's still pretty cold, but not the temp it runs at and some of the food is still firm .

I've had this happen a few times. If everything is completely soggy it goes unless it's veg. If it's firm like yours is then I'd leave most things (including chicken nuggets etc) except maybe stuff like chicken breasts, pork chops etc unless they were still clearly frozen solid. If they are bendy or nearly defrosted I'd cook and refreeze just to be safe.
