Hello, I’ve been meaning to reply to your post all day.. I’ve not used a cleaner but always envy people that do as I would love a cleaner!! The way I would think though is don’t be embarrassed, do your research and find someone you are happy with & maybe ask they don’t use your home for their socials advertising? Also they will appreciate the work especially if they are self employed. Good luck!
Thank you! Yes thinking about it I am actually quite privileged that I can consider this an option. I didn't think about the social media angle. I will have to check the social media pages of the companies I am looking at to see what they post.
---
We have a regular cleaner. It can actually motivate you too because while they never judge, you do kind of "get ready" for them.
Just to add another opinion, you might consider a shorter time but more frequently, talk to them, tell them your expectations and they'll advise. It really is a profession and skill and they will be able to guide you.
Thank you! I am hoping it will help motivate me to sort my flat out. 😩 I get so easily overwhelmed by the endless cycle of chores.

Apologies in advance if there is a thread regarding child maintenance.
The father to my 6 year old son and I had a private agreement drawn up 2.5 years ago. Recently, due to my mortgage likely going up by about £400 a month from Nov. I asked him if he would mind just recalculating the amount we agreed. He currently pays me just over £200 a month but has our son 3 nights a week. I only asked him to recalculate and did not mention an amount. He immediately went ballistic and started asking for an itemised list of what I spend on our son every month. Any way to cut a long story short I decided to make an official application through CMS. This had lead to him becoming increasingly confrontational and difficult. Whilst my application is now being processed he has now requested that I pay for the petrol for when he drops off our son. He lives 1.9 miles from me and I don’t drive.
I don’t want to agree to this but am not sure if he has any rights to ask me? What if I say no and he just refuses to drive him back to me?
Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated, thanks guys xx
He doesn’t have any right but if he’s seeing it as “doing you a favour” then if you say no, he may well expect you to share transport. CMS will sort out correct amounts but it will be based on the amount of nights spent with each parent, and his income (not the income of any additional adult in the house either)

I'd look for one with a part or preferably full service history ideally, then you'll know its been looked after (plus you'll have a paper trail of the work that's been done) even if the miles are high. Also higher mileage is less of a concern on a diesel than petrol.

I bought my current car 3 years ago having done 120,000 miles and it's been great, it's been to Wales, Newcastle, the West Country (we live in SE London) and no issues. It had a full history and although it is a bit of an old heap, it's been decently maintained and looked after which is probably why it's still going.

The problem with buying a car with no history (I went to view one recently - I'm looking to sell my car as it's not ULEZ compliant) is that you have no idea what if any work has been done over it's lifetime. The car I viewed was lowish mileage (65,000 for a 9 year old car) but it had no records or paperwork at all, the guy selling it assured me it was a decent car but as he'd only bought it at auction a couple of weeks earlier I wasn't going to take his word for it, when he couldn't tell me if the timing belt had been done, when the brake pads/ discs were last replaced or even when it last had an oil change!

Not so much a problem but like a king for advice S IV recently lost weight and need some new clothes.im taking the opportunity to buy quality items that will last for once!

Jumpers - any recommendations for soft jumpers? Possibly cashmere or merino wool?

Trousers - comfy stylish trousers that are not jeans?

Coat - something warm and waterproof that won't make me look frumpy 😂

PJ's - a top and trouser bottom set that is really soft and comfy

Robe - ideally a towelling one that feels like one you get at the spa?

Trainers - what trainers is everyone wearing these days? Ideally would want something that goes with most jeans/leggings etc
I love nike airs. I find they are comfy when I am on my feet all day and normally where them on holidays. Although some of the newer youngs are stupidly expensive

I had a sofa from Next 2 years ago (not long in the grand scheme of things) but it has lasted way better than my previous SCS sofa.

Anyone done much camping? Considering it for a number of reasons but wanted some general advice about what to expect/buy/not do?

thanksssss
I'd get a good air mattress (I have an Intex one and an electric air pump to go with it) or at least a thick iso mat - sleeping badly will take all the fun out of it. There's loads of self inflating ones too, those are pretty nice. Nevertheless, iso mats are a plus so you can isolate the ground bc that will make your matress cold.

Warm sleeping bag, small pillow, and a battery operated light source that you can charge beforehand.
Lighter, camping stove, a small pot, a bowl, cutlery.
Tent of course.
A hammer for the tent hooks is a must have imho.

I'd borrow from friends / family as much as you can for the first time to see of you even like it. Most people have a tent and sleeping bag lying around.

This is completely random but I really need some advice because I am stressed!!!
I went to the doctors last night due to extreme bloating. They did a routine pregnancy test which always comes back clear. The doctor came back and said “there’s a very very faint line. Very faint but definitely there” Believe me when I said I PANICKED. She made me do another and it was clear.

I did a home test last night and this morning. Both negative.
So, am I definitely not pregnant? Why did the first one come back with a faint line? Am I stressing over nothing 🥲🥲

How do you go about reporting a nursary?

So the nursary my neice goes too have been told repeatedly not to allow her to sleep past 3pm my brother has been up countless times telling them this an the health care visitor that sees her also works with this nursary an has told them not to allow it, yesterday they allowed her to sleep for almost 3 hours at 1pm, an now we have found out they are managing these long sleeps (she only sleeps for about a hour with us an at home) because they are giving her a dummy, we took her off her dummy in January an apart from two night meltdowns she come off quite easily an has never asked for it, all of a sudden at the weekend she was back to asking for one an getting upset an we now found out yesterday the nursery is letting her get one

Personally am tired of us telling them not to allow things an them not listening, none of us want her going back on a dummy after we managed to get her off an she's an absolute nightmare to get to bed if she's slept past 3pm

There must be a way to official put in a complaint that they are going to listen too because clearly talking with them isn't working
Are they purposefully putting your niece down to sleep or is she falling asleep on her own? When my daughter dropped her nap, the nursery said they wouldn’t put her down to sleep but if she fell asleep independently they wouldn’t wake her up. If it’s the former then I’d write an email to the nursery manager so it is in black and white, along with the info about the dummy, then if nothing changes have a face to face meeting perhaps?

100% certain, my sister is fond of blocking me🤣
Funnily enough, this is my sister too! 🤣

So does the profile picture just disappear? I’m just so confused as to why it’s just showing 1 grey tick from last night if I’m not blocked. I just tried calling her (not through WhatsApp but normally on a withheld number) and it rang once before going to voicemail - could mean she has no signal or could mean she’s blocked my number on her phone too?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks guys, I think it’s things like insurance she hasn’t thought of. My sister has used hers every year since getting her cat so it sounds important!

But moving away is giving the message that what he is doing is ok and he will continue this behaviour
It's really tricky. He might just be an arsehole of course but it might be one of those situations where hindsight is wonderful. There's nothing to take to the police of course so it's a case of 'steer clear of the weirdo' for me.

Anyone know a good toning cream? I've been doing a lot of toning exercises but I feel a cream might help just tighten the skin up a bit more
I heard good things about micro needling if you're up for that? Then any moisturiser would do. I've tried it on my arms, might just be my imagination but they seem more toned.

How do you report an app for being a scam?

A few weeks ago I was introduced to a quiz app where you answer questions each day and the person who gets the most right in the fastest time wins money. The person who recommended it had won 3 times and received the cash so I figured I’d give it a go….. first try I won, which was suspiciously lucky, but sure enough I received the funds to my PayPal same day so carried on. You have to watch a lot of adverts throughout, which I think is how they generate an income. Players all have a ranking and score to show how many questions they’ve correctly answered, and you can also see how much they’ve won in total. When I joined the prize was £10, a few weeks later it changed to £50, but since the change each morning now I’m waking up to find that the winner is always a mysterious brand new profile who is ranked #5 in the world but only 30 points… basically a fake profile. The creator has a profile in his own name that has won a few times too. It’s quite obviously rigged to avoid paying out, and looking at the details on the app it’s written in a really crude way; for example the rules state that players “don’t be dumb” a bunch of times. It’s really annoyed me that someone is scamming like this, but I’ve got no clue if it’s something I can report or to where
iPhone or Android?

Does anyone know if a beneficiary of a will, is allowed to be in the presence of a person, whislt they are making the will?
Do you mean as a witness to the will? In which case no, they lose all inheritance if they’re a beneficiary and witness of the will
---
They shouldnt really be there at all if they’re a beneficiary really. In some cases there has been but it’s very rare

I have an auditor coming in to assess my financial reports at work, it's a standard yearly audit but my first one (I got promoted a year ago and that's when I took over the reports) and I am absolutely bricking it 😭 I know box breathing and I have some rescue remedy and I know to visualise it going well, but any other calming tips would be great!
I have a quality inspection today and my advice is just to get through the first one! Once you realise how these work you are much more relaxed for the following ones.
My first inspection I was also really stressed but I told the auditor that I’m new and nervous and he was really nice about it. Even gave some advice on how to make my life easier.

That’s a good idea, I could say ‘I’ll do this bit, who’s gonna do that bit’. Because I know they won’t offer out of nowhere! The petty part of me wants to be like ‘all of you did FA for a year so you can sort it out between you and I’ll have the next part of this project off’, but that’s only when I’m ranting in my head 😂
This actually will work really well! The first bit I mean 🤣 ‘The next stage is to divide the work into 5 more manageable chunks so I’ve done that here (show or read them the list)…….I think that covers everything (gives them the option to input so they don’t think you’ve gone rogue thinking you run the show)….I’m happy to take Chunk B if that’s ok with everyone, who is for Chunk A, C, D, E’

I'd go for newer with higher miles. I had a low mileage car once and I had nothing but bother with it.
Go on the government mot check and see how the cars Milage has increased over the years .if it's done a consistent amount of miles since its last mot it's probably OK. People don't do a lot of miles in unreliable cars.

Is it the only item you ordered? All stores are required to reimburse postage if the whole order is returned, Zara do it as a standard but most retailers need reminding
---
Also, The Hut Group own Look Fantastic, so might be worth firing a complaint off to them too
Thank you! I posted a review on TrustPilot three hours ago and it’s still pending. We’ll see.

I ordered one other item that was about €10. I didn’t pay any postage for the delivery as my order qualified for free delivery, so why would I pay for a return?! They make no sense.

I’m only returning one item and to be fair, a replacement with an unopened one would have been good for me. However, they didn’t seem to be receptive to this option despite having a ‘refund/replacement’ option in their query list.

I really can’t overlook a skincare package being open and the jar cap being loose on delivery. How can I trust that this product wasn’t touched or used by anyone? The jar doesn’t have a protective foil or film to be peeled before use. It just has a cap. I’m honestly not comfortable putting this on my face.

This is so embarrassing and I cannot believe I’m going to post this lmao. I swear to god I am a functioning adult 😂

Landlord has put in a new oven and taken all the packaging etc. including the instructions so now I don’t know how to use my oven 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s a grill and oven with the hob on top - I can figure out the hobs lol! (in my defence here: the old oven had a different style dial and the oven at my parents I just knew to flick it 1 way forward as it’s been the same since I was a kid but the 1 first picture on this one doesn’t look the same as the first picture on this oven)

can someone please tell me what these mean and which one is the bog standard oven function😂

View attachment 2293273
This is how mine is, like another poster said, I also cook everything with the little line at the bottom an top an it's been completely fine, if I need the grill I use the top squiggly line but apart from that then it's the one with both lines for everything

Is there anywhere we could stop off that's nice for lunch? Or even a wander around, we will have more or less the full day to do whatever, my dad isn't fond of the service stop off places because of price so looking for somewhere along the motorway we could pull off an go see, it will be a Sunday we are driving down
