Got a night out planned this weekend. Not sure how to wear a blazer without it feeling like I’m going to work 😂?!!! Seen a few on boo hoo but how to make sure it looks more casual than formal? Ty everyone
get it in a bright or light colour (ie a nice blue, pink, cream) and pair it with a plain top and skinny jeans. always my go-to with blazers anyway! you can dress up then with heels and accessories, or keep more casual.

try to avoid a black, as that instantly looks more formal.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t have any chance with no medical support, the only charity was CAB, three month wait to be told no because my gp and social worker say I’m better and they won’t risk further bad publicity - the court for appeals is other end of county too. Theres no other welfare help, I’ve no money to join any kind of website for help or mind.

I can’t do it myself as my device is too old to be updated to link to any others e.g. I can’t print and my email no longer works. It’s over ten years old now. Not even the local council website works anymore which means Ive lost out on £200 towards cost of electric as it’s online only.

I’m sorry for complaining so much, I appreciate you listening to me.

Quoted both of you so not to repeat the same thing!
I've not done anything wrong besides the illness. Yes in the UK! I signed a permanent contract the other week.

I looked at the company website and my job is not listed on there so I assume it's that they advertised on lots of job boards and just haven't taken them down.
I suspect if you’ve only just signed it they were advertising incase you didn’t and haven’t removed them.

I don’t know if anyone has been through something similar …

A few days ago, I received an offer for an internal role in a different department. My manager is not aware and HR told me not to tell him until I get certain forms. I was due to get them by today COB to “resign” tomorrow but I did not receive them.

On the same day I got my offer, literally two hours later, my manager asked me to be part of an interview panel for a set of interviews to replace someone else in the team. I accepted thinking I’d have resigned by the time the interviews came around.

Fast forward, I have not received my documentation and thus cannot resign yet. I’m worried the HR contact in charge of the replacement role will tell the HR contact handling my move (tell them I’m interviewing people) and that I’m in a sort of conflict of interest. I’m worried this may be the reason why I haven’t received my documentation.

I absolutely hate my current team and hate they put me in this position when they’ve refuse to give me any leadership title and took my promotion away from me to give it to a male yet want me on an interview panel for gender diversity purposes.

The new role would be an upwards move and I’m worried they’re going to mess this up for me by getting me involved in a process I shouldn’t be involved if I’m moving.

The interview was scheduled yesterday for tomorrow and I thought I’d be able to resign today but it didn’t happen since the docs are still pending. I don’t know what to do 😑
I also don't think it's anything to do with interviews and more with how slow HR teams can be. I don't remember ever getting anything on time from HR at any place I've ever worked at

If I want something off Amazon I’ll check the price on aliexpress first. When Amazon/ a brand charges this much for plastic:

and the same thing is on aliexpress:

it’s worth investigating aliexpress in my eyes. Like I said though, I’m still waiting for my first delivery! For all I know, AE could be using cheaper quality materials. Hopefully I’ll find out soon..
Nah, that looks exactly the same. Let me know how it goes. I'm always up for a ba

Can anybody tell me what the big difference between a marriage and a civil partnership is.
We are going to do a civil partnership and not tell our families but it’s mainly to secure our financials because we are getting older.
I’m keen on the partnership but couldn’t really see what the difference is between the two
I may be wrong but isn't marriage done with vows an a divorce when you want to end it (an is more religious in general) but a civil partnership is documents you sign when getting it done an if you want to end it

Does anyone sell on Etsy?

Am thinking of selling some crafts, but is it better to have a good stock so you can continuously sell or can you just put up what you have an when it's gone it's gone till you can put more up, I know eBay is probably better if you just have one of somthing but Etsy seems better for selling home made crafts
I'm not sure what you are selling but I would make a little bit of stock, not a huge amount and then maybe you could offer made to order

Let’s move on from garlic-gate guys. Anyone know how to get rid of that bumpy chicken skin condition that begins with a k from your arms?
My friend swears that taking collagen cured her KP and really improved her hormonal acne and psoriasis (or maybe it was eczema? Whatever, her skin is incredible!)

My second learner permit has expired and I only have one more learner permit renewal allowed before having to re-sit the theory test all over again etc. You’re only allowed 3 learner permits.

In order for me to apply for my last learner permit, I need to have a test booked. The issue is I failed my test twice and I’m solely reliant on driving lessons as I’ve no one to drive with.

I’m therefore wondering if it’s even worth it for me to reapply for the learner permit and book a test given my track record. Or maybe I should abandon the idea of getting my license once and for all.
I would say it depends. Why are you failing? If it’s just that you are struggling to get the hang of it then I would rethink it.

I used to get it really bad then since lock down I never got it again🤣🤷🏼 My husband still get’s it bad I was thinking off seeing if anywhere local did them. He needs to drive for work but his eyes are pretty badly swollen
I get incredibly itchy eyes and sneezing. I think grass is my trigger. I have a horse so have to be around hay and last week ended up with a rash on my arms from stuffing hay nets with a t shirt on for the first time since last year.

Thanks, will I need to make a account for it, am gonna be testing it before Sunday so we know what's going work
you need to make an account yes: it’s a very similar format and set up to youtube so you create a “channel” essentially and give your friend the details so she can join you to watch! definitely test it first though (it’s been a little while for me so hopefully nothing’s changed and it works for you!)

I’ve gone to my supervisor a lot about her and she’s asked if I want her to talk to her over it and I’ve said no because it’ll just become a regular thing and I feel like I’m in school running to the teacher over it. I’ve thought ignoring her and keeping conversations with her to the bare minimum way help and give her the hint I’m not engaging or bothering with her.

When I mean go off on her I don’t mean in an aggressive way. I mean pointing out how it’s inappropriate and etc politely when the rooms full like after she’s pointed out my skin.

The other day she found out someone I’ve applied for a job in a different department I was talking too someone else in the room over the work night out and she suddenly asked me if I heard anything from it. People in the room weren’t aware I applied and I said “no, I didn’t get an interview that’s why I’ve not said anything” so I keep doing replies like that to make her feel uncomfortable brining it up or even asking 🤷🏼‍♀️
I think the best thing to do it just walk away from her, don't even give her a reply, if management had said to you that they would talk to her then it might have been worth it as they could have told her she needs to keep her distance

She honestly seems like such a noisy cow tbh, next time you are in a room full of people an she says something, maybe just announce you are uncomfortable being asked something personal an walk away, she might hopefully feel embarrassed enough she won't do it again

Any tips for coldarses swimmers who find the pool too cold?
I used to find my pool was always cold when less people were in it, so asked about it an they told me that the less people that are in the more heaters they switch off, something to do with saving money if the pool isn't busy plus after a certan time they wanted them off anyway (at times there was only me in the pool but I'd go at night) of course your pool might be different but it could be worth maybe asking them if there's a reason it's so cold

Haven't gotten money back but I did get my Fitbit watch changed after it was faulty an they at first weren't going to do anything about it, so I blasted them on twitter an you bet they dealt with it within a few days an I got a new watch sent out, company's HATE being called out on platforms everyone can see an are usually quick to talk to you one on one to sort it

Have you tried looking at the small print? Sometimes some might say they have a cancellation period if the date the subscription started is under 2 or 3 days when you want to cancel, I can't see apple dealing with it if it's from Fitbit, but if he has never signed up for it then I'd keep at Fitbit for it back
Thank you, I don’t have social media but hubby does so I’ll ask him to tweet them. We’ve complained to Fitbit, Apple and the bank already 😂

Do you touch your hair a lot? You could be transferring grease from your fingers to your hair.
I’ve never noticed but I’m going to try take stock over the next few days!
---
This is a bit random but how old are you? Only because I hit a particular age and suddenly my hair is the total opposite to how it used to be. My point being maybe it could be hormonal?

Also, if your scalp is dry yet the hair is greasy, I think that means your scalp might be producing extra oil. Therefore you have to treat the dryness not the oil. (I think that's right but an actual hairdresser might be able to confirm - or tell us it's bollocks 😆).

I hope you find something that helps.
I’m 33, but actually treating the scalp makes sense- I’m going to pop to my salon and ask if they can recommend a scalp treatment when I’m nearby
---
My hair is like this as well, can't wash it everyday or it's greasy an can't go past two days or it's greasy

So I wash mine every 2 days with a tea tree shampoo, I wash it at night an let it dry natural over night as I released if I used a hair dryer it made it greasier quicker, on the days in-between I don't wash I'll use a little dry shampoo

Have you checked to see if you have psoriasis? I have that on my scalp an can have a dry an itchy scalp even though my hair can be greasy, the tea tree also helps with that

But also touching your hair can make it like that, sometimes you don't even realise your doing it if it's out of habit
I used to have psoriasis but it cleared up a couple of years ago- I will have to have it checked again

Keratosis pilaris! I also have this it's a pain and I've tried salicylic acid as suggested above but it didn't seem to help me. There's a lot on reddit about it
