My child caught everything for the first year of nursery- we were all sick as well. He’s now got the immune system of an absolute rhino. He catches NOTHING at school - even the worst colds give him nothing but a brief sniffle.

Talk about a random problem!

My hair is super static since the cold snap. I’ve never had this before. I swear if my hair was short I’d have a fro.

Is there anything I can do? It’s very annoying
Do you have a humidifier you can run? That’s the first thing I would try

Does anyone know how long it takes to get blood results (Full Blood Count, Renal, Thyroid, Liver Function etc..)?

I got my blood drawn on Thursday morning but I haven’t hear anything yet. I’m a bit worried as I still have a lump on my neck that’s been there since late October. I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about but I’m anxious to get some answers as to why I’ve been feeling off.
Two working days usually but that's UK, GP. Hospital's can be longer, maybe a week.

Anyone used another postal service other than the royal mail for posting UK to US, an was it better service/cheaper?

I feel like royal mail are getting incredibly expensive now an I can't get the Xmas presents I want to give to friends just because it's costing so much, for some candy I was £30 to send, an my pens got stolen somewhere alone the line as well

These are my go to outside of Royal Mail. Used to ship manufactured large items globally with ex-husband and whichever courier opted for, no issues.

They offer quotes across portfolio of couriers, so you select your best option.

tbf, I have been so miserable and anxious so struggling to eat, even if it's placebo doing something I'll take it.

Thank you for the tip. I take it with my evening meal usually as I can't take tablets on an empty stomach
Oh a placebo effect is still an effect! The mind is a powerful place. I hope you find some relief x

Not quite sure why you would want to set up a account if you have no interest, tbh wouldn't you just be wasting whoevers time if they messaged you?

Not to be offensive but 32 seems to be a bit old to be messing with people, I can't see someone that age being particularly happy they are being messed with just because you want the app but dont care about dating if you are talking with them I'd think the majority that that's age that's on these apps are probably hoping to get serious
You completely misunderstood my post and extrapolated it to give it a whole new meaning it didn’t have. It’s nothing to do with “messing with people”. I don’t know where you got that from. Your post is very rude and offensive if I’m very honest and particularly calling me “old”. You’re way off base and it’s not the kind of advice I was seeking at all.

I often post on this forum and those who know my posts know I’m quite a serious person. If I go into the dating game, it’s to meet someone on a serious basis, not to “mess around” or whatever it idyour post insinuated. I’ve better things to do with my time. Don’t project your personal experiences onto other people who are just candidly seeking advice.

To make it very clear, my post was about wondering if I should just follow my “intuition” which is perhaps telling me to set up an account because I’m about to meet a serious connection or if I should just ignore my thoughts is all.

Random one but can anyone recommend some good quality but not stupidly expensive slippers? I’ve had mine since October and the sole is wearing away already. I wear them a lot so don’t mind spending money on them if they’ll last longer than 4 months 🙃

Thanks. Yeah I think they are. Or at least, Im not eating any differently than I did before these past two and something years.

I did blood tests last month and all that came up is high cholesterol. I thought about anemia but it seems not the case.

I’m sorry you had to go through this. Hope you’re doing better now. Thank you for your advice and insight. I actually feel full when I eat pasta, bread or fish. I don’t eat any kind of dairy or meat, so I’m working around that. I’m hoping it will stabilize soon enough.
Thank you that is kind. I'm doing a lot better with that but I have bad days and I still have my struggles. I hope one day I will have a good relationship with food but it's hard to reverse. If it's pasta, bread and fish it might be salt that is making you feel full. Worth seeing if you add a it more salt to your meals if it helps. I hope it stablises soon for you too. It's an absolute nightmare!

Thanks I'll have a look at those, I kind of felt that I'd prob have to change some things over myself but so long as the majority can be automatic then it will help, just getting fed up with the poor customer service with RBS now, they can't be bothered an it's always a 30/40 min wait to see them cause they closed everyone of them down in the other 4 towns so now there's one left that everyone has to use an there's only ever 2 or 3 staff on
The current account switching service is very good.

It basically works by when a company take a direct debit or send you a direct credit (bacs) then they get a notification that it has been forwarded to a new account and they should use the new details from now on and they should then notify you that they have changed your record.

It's pretty seamless.

People sometimes stress that they haven't been informed by the company until after the payment has been made etc. But that's how it works. It doesn't preemptively tell companies snippysnipps has changed, mainly because it could be gdpr breach if you are not longer using that company etc. it waits until they send it to the old details and says don't do that again please.

ETA it is current account switching. Not savings! So if you have any credits going to a savings account and you close the account it will just bounce back to whoever paid you. It won't be forwarded like the above.

This catches a lot of people out and is why some people moan about the switching service. It isn't all accounts only current accounts.

I’m at my wits end with virgin media, is anyone else having issues? The signal strength is full so they say it’s fine but none of my devices will connect 😡 There’s clearly an issue as my hub has been replaced and the devices are all different but having the same issue. It happens all over the house and the hub is out in the open so no issues there. I’m fed up of listening to their shitty hold music for hours on end.
Yes, the new Virgin Media hubs are totally crap. I have trouble connecting on occasion in a room about 10 feet away and also losing connecting on an Amazon Alexa directly below the hub (Hub is on the upper floor, Alexa is in the kitchen).

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I seem to have come down with the sickness bug. I had a headache yesterday I felt bit iffy but just put it down to a busy day and not eating much. I woke up at 1 am and threw up and I have done another four times since. Mostly bile.

I’ve got a headache, very slight fever and I’m exhausted. I can’t get a doctor’s appointment for love nor money, and to be honest I don’t have the energy to get up should I be worried or do I just need to ride it out?
I had it, ride it out, it’ll pass I promise ❤

Thanks everyone, i am a 34F but I am a size 8 waist so I always feel like im lugging melons about with me🤣i will have a look at the wonder bra, I really want some nice clothes for my hols but I just feel like my boobs fall out of everything 🤣🥲

It’s funny because I would chop mine off too but my sister is a B cup and would do anything for big boobs🤣
36E multi-way (can be strapless, halter etc) from Primark is relatively cheap and works pretty well for me. But it’s quite full coverage so with a low cut under arm halter it can be seen.

Not sure if this is the right place to post but I came off my pill almost 2 months ago. Had my first period last week - all seemed fine just the usual. I was on the pill in the first place because they were so bad i'd be sick.

I don't know what to do about the pill now though. I was very lucky in that I never had any side effects and it stopped my period completely. I am worried about the long term of being on the pill and all the horror stories but not having a period was really great as the mental side effects really take their toll and I get really bad fatigue.
I just don't know what to do for the best. There's a bit of me that thinks just take the easier route now and deal with the outcomes if they come later down the line but there's a part of me that is concerned.

I'm all confused
You might find the thread periods helpful, am not sure how to link but it's in the advice section

Personally I was on and off it for years because of my performing an it's left me messed up now, I don't have a pattern, I can be super early or super late, can go between either massively heavy or really light as well, if I could have gotten away with it then I wouldn't have taken it in the first place because I feel there's no fixing mine now, I'd also get insane pains with mine an some have told me to be checked for endometriosis so if you are being sick with them then I'd see about being checked for that and also if you have anemia, anemia could explain the fatigue so maybe taking an iron supplement may help, but it is something best spoken to a doctor with

This is a bit of a long story, I'll try and keep it as brief as possible.

I've got a friend I've known a long time. We've been less close in the last few years because I got fed up with her, she has various issues that she won't seek help with which result in people having to run round after her, but you don't even get a thank you. Anyhow, last year she reached out and I took this at face value (but subsequently realised it was because she needed a favour from me! Once I'd done that I barely heard from her). Then I split with my partner, and trying to keep myself busy I offered to visit her (she lives about an hour away but doesn't drive - I said I'd drive down and we could have a day out - she doesn't work). She said I could, but her new bloke (who I'd met once for 10 mins) would have to come too. I didn't reply and not spoken to her since.

I've now heard from a mutual friend who saw her last month and said she had facial injuries (black eyes/ missing teeth). She claimed she'd fallen over, however the mutual friend (who jumps to the worst possible conclusion) didn't think this added up, and was concerned this was evidence of abuse. A different mutual friend who has met the new bloke more than me doesn't think there's anything to worry about as he doesn't seem the type (but then who does?). I initially agreed, also because friend does sometimes have a few too many so a fall when drunk was quite possible. Then I thought about her insisting that the bloke came out for the day with us, and wondered if that could have been controlling behaviour? Then again they don't live together, he also doesn't work so he's not financially supporting her or anything. Just not sure if there's anything to be worried about - or even if we contacted her if she'd tell us if there was.

The last part I should mention is that I was in a relationship where I experienced verbal abuse (as well as some violence/ threats though not much thankfully) for years and she and all my friends knew and did nothing about it, and never once tried to help me.

TLDR friend I'm not closely in contact with has injuries which may be DA, might not, what should we do if anything?

I think the best you personally can do in this situation is encourage your friends who live near her to keep a close eye on her. Mind that she doesn’t have to be dependent on him for anything for the relationship to become controlling. A friend had a bf who would come to her house and smash up her room - she had a good job and a lovely circle of friends but was smitten with this utter arsehole.

when it happened to you what would you have done if someone did reach out and ask if you were okay? Would you have appreciated it or do you think you would have denied it? There’s so much weird shame mixed up in being a victim of DA.

I think as friends a lot of us want to tell ourselves our friends are happy and are living good lives, but when you get certain signs it’s worth just keeping an eye on things. I’m sorry you went through your own DA nightmare.
