That’s terrible! And surely people constantly taking body fat measurements and getting stressed about it is far worse than the weighing weekly at a slimming club he rants so much about? I’m really starting to despair because I do need to lose weight but essentially every plan (including his) involves obsessive measures, which is how I ruined my relationship with food and put weight on in the first place. I really want to be slimmer and healthier but I don’t want to live a life measuring milk in tea to the ml, getting stressed over whether I should weigh pasta cooked or dry or trying to hit an excessive protein target!I will say this much: long post coming.
So... I wanted to get fit, over lockdown, I’d put on a few pounds and thought I wanted a bit of help with it.
Team RH said they could help teach nutrition but you still eat real food. Fantastic! So I learned I definitely needed more protein to support the exercise I do, that’s good, more fibre, more water, more movement. Healthy. But then they teach you to ignore your body’s signals.
They don’t monitor if you’re taking it too far. Before Xmas I felt I got too thin, so I started eating more (off of their plan) I felt better for it. I messaged them and said so and they said I had to go back to tracking every calorie even if I wasn’t happy with it as that’s the only way it works, fair enough...
I said I’ve reached my goal, what now? They added me into a group with a load of women with their bones sticking out who are then instructed to get their partners to use callipers on them and pinch their body fat each week to see if they are gaining body fat. If they do, 100 cals down, if they don’t, 100 cals up. The only way to avoid the body fat going up, is to do weights and build muscle and if that doesn’t work, you’re not trying hard enough...
As a feminist it didn’t sit right with me at all!
The women are all very lost and stressed and constantly asking if they look fat / need to diet more. There is minimal official help as the owner (Richie) admits this is 5% of his client base so they invest in the people losing fat as a priority.
The women are told to bulk, there is one woman held as the poster child for bulking who is eating something like 3400 calories a day (up and down 100 a week) who is clearly just putting loads of weight on again who will then be expected to “cut” and reveal the muscle. But there is no instruction offered for anyone that doesn’t want to be a body builder. When I said I had had numerous panic attacks over using these callipers, especially as I have no training and it was telling me I was obese on the website you enter the data into, they (the coaches) just told me I need to practice more. How do you practice something you have no training in?! How can you say it’s safe for people who have prior disordered eating habits (I told them this from the start) to pinch bits of fat endlessly? I am really shocked and disgusted. I have reached out to others in the industry who have said that callipers work, if you want to be a body builder, but intuitive eating and learning about food is better mentally and unfortunately, in my option, team rh do not teach this outside of starve / bulk.
Preece Nutrition is £4.99 a month and he always takes the time to respond to people personally (he even sends voice messages). He has an actual degree, such empathy and knows what it’s like to struggle with weight. I would much rather give him my money than most of these others who have never really known what it’s like to struggle with their weight and have next to no qualifications, and next to no empathy for overweight people!Thank you, that’s good to know. I’ll look him up on FB. I did sign up to the Food for Fitness Inner Circle (Scott Baptie) trial week for a £1 and although I like most of the recipes I’ve tried I can’t justify the £25 per month for what he’s offering.
I was a member a few years back and a victim of his bullying. The plan works but the man doesn't! When I first started with them it was like a big supportive family which is just what I needed on the hard journey to loosing weight & It was really affordable. As he got bigger he grew greedier and an even bigger weasel! he likes to look good and act like he cares on the outside but he really doesn't... I speak from sad experiences.... a complete fake arsewipe who picks on defensive people. The money and power have definitely gone to his head. I joined up with Preece Nutrition who works with caloric deficit but the big difference is Peter who runs it has compassion and treats/coaches everybody individually. He understands life gets in the way and doesn't shout/scream or call you out making you look small or insignificant infront of 1000s people if your having a hard time for whatever reason like Richie always used to. By the time I left I had 0% confidence in myself and was at rock-bottom but in time Peter has helped me get that backNone of these posts surprise me, infact these bad stories are mild to the stuff I have seen. I personally think Richie is a an awful human being, and Rachael is ultimately becoming complicit in all of his practices.
It is very much like a cult, ran by in my opinion a master manipulator. There plan is fine, it teaches calorie deficit, but that I believe is where their morales end, but surely they can't be that bad when the lovely smiling eye fluttering Rachael is there?
Some facts below what their members need to actually waken upto.......
1. Last June 2019, Richie did a victim playing live saying about how he works so hard that he does not have time to go away on holiday with his beloved girlfriend, this was all said whilst knowing fine well he was going away on holiday with the lads less than one week later. He has been away the last 4 years with the lads but does not take his partner on holiday, yet he tries to make it out he is unable to.
2. January they posted about last year, some people tried to bring him down, in reply what they did was work hard, put their head down and NOT RETALIATE. So that being said, is sending massive multiple page documents of threatening letters to ex staff and affiliate not count as retaliation? Yeah you put your head down and did not retaliate haha.
3. They make their staff and affiliates sign NDA's (none disclosure agreements), so essentially a document so what goes on never comes out in my opinion. They are just a weight loss group, I do not know of any other weight loss place taking such actions to keep a lid on things.
4. They are meant to be about making the diet world a better place, no pills, no shake diets etc. However they strive to make sure they are only ones giving this message, their affiliate contracts try to prevent them mentioning other people like James Smith etc mentioning the same truths.
5. Richie fights every single one star review on trustpilot, calling everyone who leaves a bad review as if they have an agenda. I rarely see people calling the plan (apart from app), it is the people and not the plan/business people are not happy with.
I personally believe this will blow up one day, there are loads of people with horrendous experiences that go way beyond just a bit ''tough love''. I liken it to the #metoo movement (not on the whole as extreme), but their are many many people deeply effected by them. Myself, I am one of many who can't stand to see them shared on my timeline, genuinely have PTSD symptoms I personally find them so despicable.
He labels these people as haters, we are not people who hate his plan, his business etc, we just see through him.
Well dredging it up for everyone to know about the 'troll' is that meant to make Rachael feel good??...no, makes him look good , in his deluded eyes!! Prick!!someone asking what did it say "
intercepted it before she seen it so not wanting to repeat it" - funny that eh? does it even exist?![]()
His partner trained as a primary school teacher didnt she?? I bet she would have made a lovely teacher , but she didn't even get a chance as that cunt of a man convinced her to drop the career she had studied hard to do, for his fitness dream.I feel physically sick looking at him and his partner.
It’s not even a group, it’s an “event” he’s created where you are sent over to when you say you’re done with dieting. You get terrible m, confusing advice that you are supposed to implement yourself with no training and then he occasionally pops in to give tips and big up this one woman who is piling on weight under his instruction. He promises once you’ve built muscle that you’ll be able to eat more calories for life, but when speaking with an expert, they said that’s not true and they might get an extra 75 calories a day on top of their dieting ones. It’s all a big con. What the flying fuck did I just read?
there’s a sub group that takes it even further?!
my . God
Rachel gets off very lightly in my opinion, she turns a blind eye to what is obviously an awful narcissist that has made a lot of people unhappy/upset! Mind I have seen a post they did recently (Richie posted something similar before) about how Rachel is her own person/individual etc, persist too much? In my opinion he controls her and he is trying to convince everyone that he does not. They are vile people, narcasistic and bullies.
Rachel gives me second hand embarrassment when she does these exercise videos, the shouting, the skimpy shorts and the acting. Glad I left before the whole app thing, I was in the Facebook group 3 years ago and there wasn't a fee
I'm just laughing my tits off that he called someone else toxicIt's on the public page.
Yes he really does have some front calling people thick! Hes not exactly the sharpest tool in the box himself! That is absolutely disgraceful. I'm so sorry he's done that to you. He's set up that company where he allegedly helps people to lose weight for a monthly fee. What he's actually doing is taking the money & offering nothing but insults & abuse if you ask for help? The app doesn't work. It's a really cheap nasty version of mfp which is free. He's mentally and emotionally abusing anyone who asks anything of him.
The "you don't deserve to be thin" comment stands out. That's what it's all about. The aesthetic. He clearly doesn't give a sh*t about anyones wellbeing or mental health, as long as you're thin it doesn't matter how mentally or physically damaged you become in the process. It's the be all, end all. He's created such a negative, toxic environment. It's the opposite of health & wellbeing. Preece is such a lovely guy, I joined after he was mentioned here. It's everything RH isn't.
That post about counting calories of medicine! Good lord. If you disagree with him you somehow lack intelligence & you've to f**k off. What a child, he's embarrassing. It is too far and when you're tracking things like medicine to help you recover from an illness, that's one step towards an eating disorder. He shouldn't be encouraging that. Is he really expecting someone who is ill to avoid medication or even food because it would mean they wouldn't be in a deficit?
He's not in a position to call anyone thick. We've seen enough of him to know that. He's ultra sensitive & can't handle being challenged, even if it's indirectly. He comes across as such a sweetie wife who loves drama, squabbles and gossip.
It needs shut down now. There's obviously numerous instances of bullying & shaming people publicly. That kind of thing isn't on.
Yep, but only cares when he’s the one being “kind” none of us have said anything bad about Rachael either, we’re all actually just massively concerned for her well being and want her to know she’d be safe if she left. Use this as your excuse to get out if you’re reading this Rachael! Say the trolls have made you want to leave team rh and start your life over. That is shocking!!!! And that bastard portrays himself as a frigging saint!!
I get so annoyed with fitness professionals who are negative about cardio - strength training and cardio and conditioning exercises are all useful and all have different benefits and can suit different people. To just go "lift weights, cardio is rubbish" makes you no better than the people who say "oh, lifting a single dumbbell will make you look like Arnold, stick to cardio."I really don’t think he understands the damage even something like this could do! Let me tell you I run and my arse and legs are toned but the rest of me suffers. But I run A for cardio B and B is a Biggy (see what I did there) for my mental health! To clear my head and get out. I get more out of a 30 minute run that I do a 30 minute walk.
Discouraging people this way may lead them down a very dark path. Ffs why can he not just be normal and give pro and cons! Running/jogging/power walking all hold a great amount of value in health and well-being.
No it won’t give you the same definition but my mind is clear and I can climb mountains/hills without needing my inhaler anymore.
Why does he have to be a ‘NEGATIVE SALLY’ all the time rather than a Postive influence. Positivity goes a long way with encouragement and motivation.

Thought exactly that myself! I think Preece Nutrition advises to do as much steps as you can on an actual walk outside in the fresh air and top them up with steps in the house or whatever to hit your goal, but he doesn’t say they’re fake steps! To be fair going out a decent walk stepping out at a good pace possibly on inclines at times is probably better for fitness than prancing about your kitchen doing a “walkie talkie” (have just been a bit sick in my mouth typing that, so cringey!)Why is he making up a story about someone slagging off “fake steps”
no one did![]()
