I just emailed ashbourne and told them i wished to cancel, that was it, which i did at the beginning of this month, my contract ended October last year .

Yeah their plan (it is common knowledge calories, so technically nothing they created) is fine, it is the person at the top just is not squeeky clean in my opinion.I’ve joined recently on the annual plan and have found it helpful so far, but understand the comments made here.
My husband signed up to the monthly plan and, to be frank, he’s not one for reading things carefully. When he got an email explaining he had to set up a direct debit and I told him it was a 12 month contract on the monthly he said ‘well forget that’ and didn’t proceed.
So he’s paid £6.99 but never downloaded, installed the app, or set up a direct debit.
Is it likely that he’s simply lost £6.99 and that’s the end of that, or based on what I’ve read above should I expect he’ll now be subject to debt collection if he doesn’t set this direct debit up?

Get in touch with your local citizens advice like I have. Email them back and tell them to piss off, it's absurd what they are doing and the frequency of the harassment over £6.99!
