I’ve joined recently on the annual plan and have found it helpful so far, but understand the comments made here.

My husband signed up to the monthly plan and, to be frank, he’s not one for reading things carefully. When he got an email explaining he had to set up a direct debit and I told him it was a 12 month contract on the monthly he said ‘well forget that’ and didn’t proceed.

So he’s paid £6.99 but never downloaded, installed the app, or set up a direct debit.

Is it likely that he’s simply lost £6.99 and that’s the end of that, or based on what I’ve read above should I expect he’ll now be subject to debt collection if he doesn’t set this direct debit up? :(

I wanted to like Rebelfit but I unfollowed (long before covid) because he was forever getting pulled up for saying shit. He would learn from it, for sure, he’d put his hands up, but it seemed to be happening so regular at one point I just distrusted him.

I have been following preece’s posts. All I see is kindness. And really, that’s the idea. Being kinder to ourselves AND our health. Not berating yourself for taking the cough medicine cause it’s got calories *shocker*

Edited to add - in Liams defence he wasn’t deleting and blocking everyone and ignoring the negative feedback.

Even in the early days of being a PT you are taught that negative feedback is vital, it will help shape you to be the person people want to go to.

Think i would rather keep my self respect and integrity!
I was getting more and more sucked in. He’d commented saying I looked great, sent a picture directly to me cheering me on, mentioned me by name several times in his videos... I was really feeling like it was my whole way of life having to stick to the rules and do as he instructed with these callipers. But it’s all forms of drawing in and control. 😔

I noticed the other night Rach posted for a limited time you could join for free? This seems unfair as people are locked in for annual subscriptions, p'd me right off.

The walkie talkies were unbearable. Years ago I saw a programme about eating disorders & one of the people on that marched on the spot to burn calories.

I only signed up yesterday 🙈 I was expecting a lot more for my €32 intial sign up - I felt I was missing something but obviously not after reading all these! - I thought when they said personalized plan - it meant an actual diet plan and not ur cals / macros that u can easily get on line for free. I’ll give it a month and see if not I’ll be cancelling my €8.99 a month direct debit via my bank!
Make your own mind up about it :) you've got 14 days cooling off period to cancel so I'd have a really good think about it. You don't want them sending you threatening emails demanding money etc.

This was my experience too, I loved Body Pump but it didn’t get my steps up. I began to get confused about doing classes at the gym and honestly went less when I had signed up to RH.

I didn’t know what to do at the gym and the equipment I had in my gym didn’t match what Rachel used in the videos. I was so confused. Add in the uncertainty about what to eat, the encouragement to eat 20% crap, even when I didn’t really want to!

The marching on the spot for an hour when I could have been at Body Pump never made sense to me...not forgetting the irritation that is Baking El popping up on my Facebook doing her walkie talkie kitchen marching...who enjoys that?

I quit and went back to Body Pump, Swimming and running. It works for me and I enjoy it. I’m cooking all meals, drinking more water, eating less rubbish, and focusing on increasing vegetable intake! I love this thread, because it makes me see I wasn’t the only confused one!
Wow that's so sad it made you give up classes at the gym you obviously enjoyed.
I mostly teach Pilates, does it get my steps up alot? No. Am I active for a big portion of the day...yes. It's nice to not be a slave to your Fitbit, I hope you can get back to doing what you love

Also the callipers thing..
How the hell do they expect people who aren't PT's to be able to use callipers effectively. They have a large margin of error even if you are very experienced with them let alone never used them before. 🤷‍♀️
Completely unnecessary and complicating things when it's really not needed. But I suppose they have to do that to take your money and convince you that you're all so rubbish without them eh....
Horrible just horrible

Apart from as a PT does he have any other qualifications for diet and nutrition? He goes on as if he's the only person in the world who fully understands how the body burns calories
I doubt it. And you can do a 6 week PT course which is worrying! He’s not telling anyone anything they can’t find out by going online or reading articles!

If you just cancel it they'll likely try and bill you for fees. Email them and tell them to piss off if they do that and don't give them a penny. You could just pay it off so you don't have to have anything to do with them ever again. I had to explain to them about 7 times (no exaggeration!) That's what I wanted to do. They were so thick they didn't understand and just kept adding fees.
Yeah I’ve emailed team rh to say that I want to end the contract and they have so far ignored me. So I will ask again.

They do seem to have/had a particularly high number or people with quite significant MH issues/personal problems, nothing wrong with that in itself, but it does make you wonder if they were just easy to “groom” etc
In my personal opinion I believe some of the people that portray ''mh issues'' in their affiliates are no angels themselves, think there is some hamming up for sympathy/sales (again in my opinion).

I did this last year and got hounded for 3 months. I emailed them and told them I wasn’t paying. They were absolute horrors!!

I did Munro fitness and I didn’t realise they used to work together, but what I liked about Munro was that in the fb group they genuinely seemed to care. He also seems to be doing more qualifications like the MNU so seems to have a better understanding of nutrition instead of just work outs!
Yesterday I got two emails and a text from Ashbourne

As much as I think Richie is a cockwomble I can’t get over how many of you think it’s perfectly reasonable to sign up to something with certain terms you know from the outset then act outraged that he tries to get the money back you owe him especially when you’ve done it by simply cancelling your direct debit and ignoring him. Baffled. Imagine if you did that to your mortgage company.

I expect he’s got an hour long video “breaking it down for the stupid fuckers” or something that you’ll then have to invest your time into watching, until your brain leaks out of your ear...
Probably!

I mean there's explaining so people understand what's happening and then there's just totally OTT for own ego right.... 😬😩
