Aside from that, are they seriously suggesting that someone on Tattle who bitches about someone on IG is in the same category as someone who sends death threats to people on Twitter? Give me a fucking break. It’s ironic that someone on Twitter thinks that Tattle is ‘one of the most toxic places on the internet’. Twitter is an absolute cesspit. It’s got everything from anonymous beggars to people getting cancelled for innocuous remarks, to death threats and freely available hardcore porn.
Good point. Some of the biggest moaners about Tattle are incredibly active on Twitter.
The place that was responsible for the most appalling vile abuse of black football players amongst other things. And as you say death threats, r*pe threats and pornography found there regularly. None of which allowed on Tattle.
But yeah, laughing at influencers is easily worse

“If I’m rude about them it’s satire, if they’re rude about me it’s abuse” is so spot on
He always punches down too on twitter. Some random person with about 10 followers will say something relatively mild and silly eg 'when was Baddiel last funny' (a comment most would ignore obviously) and he takes pride in retweeting, going through the poster's time line to find something personal about them to attack them with, call them a c*nt and encourage a pile on.
How does he not get this is bullying and trolling behaviour?
Ghastly individual.

It's always a one-sided view from these mum-fluencers. Not telling the truth over what happened and failing to see the main issue is nothing is done to protect children from being shared, used for work and monetized by their own parents.

No idea who this person is, but the Ingham family all went for a swim leaving a baby alone on a beach. They didn't even leave another child behind to look after the baby and instead insisted it was fine as they kept their eye on the baby the whole time, despite being quite far away.

Tattle always gets the blame, even though there's often nothing to back up any contributers from here did anything. I suspect a fair few influencers are responsible for said behaviour themselves, or their fans that read tattle, then use that as an excuse to blame Tattlers.

You broadcast questionable parenting on the internet and people respond appropriately to it. What needs to be done is to stop these mum-fluencers.

Of course it was abuse people saying they shouldn't leave a child unattended on a busy public beach 😳. They didn't even try to lie and pretend a friend nearby was looking after the baby.

I have a strong feeling “Joanna” isn’t real. Her quotes all fit too perfectly to the narrative of the article.

I think the lifestyle section of the guardian can be very poor. The long form articles are mostly ok but their fashion and beauty is woeful. I know that those section get the most clicks and fund the proper investigative journalism stuff, a lot of which is very worthwhile.

I think because there business model is completely free there’s a lot of pressure to keep pumping out clickbate lifestyle stuff but try and give it an investigative journalism spin. Because it’s the guardian and they want to be perceived as better than all the other clickbate muck online. While profiting from 200 word nothings with 20 adds.

Issue is that anyone with a passing knowledge of the subject will write a much better 200 word comment. Then comments under the few articles they allow them on are often much better and hold peoples attention for much longer.

Tattle is all comments. They know a significant number of their own readers prefer comments over articles.
I think sites like tattle go back to an earlier version of the internet that was more discussion based and less image focused. I’m judging other commenters here based on what they say, not their pictures or bylines or how well they’ve crafted their ✨brand ✨

Lots of industries have a forum where they can be reviewed. Hospitality and tourism have trip advisor, we have Yelp review, businesses have Glass Door etc. These are anonymous forums and it is very hard to get a review removed from there.
Insta influencers are operating a business. They choose to monetise their social media and they are very quick to block any negative comments. We are their customers and Tattle gives people a space to review their business. If you don’t like receiving negative reviews then make your social media private. Influencers feels they have a right to control the narrative because they have exposed their private lives to scrutiny. However that is their choice and they are gaining financially from doing so. If they have such a problem with Tattle that they want to shut it down then maybe they should shut down their social media instead.

I kind of want to analyse them right back!

Like this part.

I can’t speak for us all, but overall, we admit that we’re not all angels here, and are just genuinely exasperated that stories about “the worst of the internet” focus on Tattle when there really are worse sites, and well known ones at that.

Also, they quoted @Lanie (who I “know“ from the Jack Monroe threads) here -

but hilariously cut true “Lanie-ness“ of the post, like the word “petal”.

I’ve read far worse on twitter after a game of football than I’ve ever read on here.

Private Eye was founded by a group of men and I think it still is almost entirely written by men. In all it's 60 years I don't suppose there's ever been article that began 'What makes a group of men tear apart successful males in a magazine that's pure poison?'. And then went to on explain how they were just jealous because they wanted to be running the country or earning huge salaries like the industry fat cats.

Off the back of Captain Tom Moore's ghastly family, surely the time has for journalists to examine the grifting that goes on via social media? (Some people have a lifestyle funded by the scrounging). Rather than focusing on places like Tattle which seems to be the only place to consistently unearth and comment on their shoddy behaviour?
See also Ashley Cain and Saffiya Vorajee. There are serious questions being raised now about where the Go Fund Me money has gone. More and more people are asking questions about what The Azaylia Foundation are doing with the £1.6 million raised for treatment for the poor baby and they’re all being labelled trolls for asking legitimate questions.

People don’t want to think that old people or babies are unwittingly caught up in any sort of grift, they’d rather believe we’re the nasty, bitter old loners the press paint us to be. But many a person has found their way over here and seen things in a totally different light to what is portrayed to them on social media, and that’s why there will always be a place for Tattle.

Bullies and pack mentality make people post anonymously. You've only got to look at a Facebook community page to see how vile and aggressive the public are with their own stupid opinions. Even a non confrontational comment is met with hostility. The hunz on instagram, tiktok, youtube etc. Cannot stand one small criticism against their post, and God forbid anyone points out one of their lies. They scream "be kind" and then set their dogs on the poster, while they sit back encouraging it. The hypocrisy is off the scale, as another poster mentioned earlier. It is little wonder forums like Tattle exist.

I don't see anyone here:
1 Laughing about the death of a young woman.

2 Knowingly shacked up with a scumbag convicted of possession of paedophilic images.

3 Approvingly quoted by a neo nazi to justify his mass murder of young people.

I would get all the above in a copy of The Times though. They are well renumerated for their opinions too. Go figure.

It’s excruciating trying to listen to him in these videos. He can’t string a coherent sentence together and it’s all written down in front of him! Jesus it’s embarrassing!!!!!
He repeats himself like Fred Elliot, I say he repeats himself like Fred Elliot.

"Anominous throlling." "Questioning the valadidity of charities" He can't even read his own notes.😂

I went round to visit my mum today (I’ve been let out of isolation finally - whoo hoo!) and she said “you’re not one of those Tattlers are you?” I said, yes I am and she said “but it’s the dark web”. Now my lovely mum doesn’t know what the dark web really is but she does believe every damn thing the frigging mail says. I talk to her about what we are and gave her and gave her examples of why Tattle is a good thing in some respects and she said it was good to have some balance - something the Mail doesn’t and never has had.
"you're not one of those Tattlers are you?" sounds like she just discovered that you are part of a syndicate

They may say we are trolls, but I actually see us on here as seers-of-the-bullshit, who come here to talk sense, as a refuge from a world of facade, fakery, narcissism etc.
Well they did describe Tattle as the witch hunters of the present day 😂 Whatever that means.
You are right though - I really see Tattle as the last bastion of sanity against influencers and grifters telling us we look wrong and are doing stuff wrong and need to buy more stuff to look right.
