Slimming world is calorie controlled, it just doesn’t put numbers on it. The ‘free’ food is food that will fill you up more and the rest is measured etc to ensure that you don’t over eat it. I do get that there is a lot of negative press around slimming world but it does work for some people.
Not putting numbers on it is the issue though, “free” foods are often white carbs which are nutritionally void whereas nutrient dense foods like avocado and bananas are penalised as “high syn”. A Strongbow Dark Fruits is the same (or fewer “syns”) as an avocado. Therein lies the key issue- nutrition is just completely ignored!!
And don’t even get me started on the infantile language like “speed” “body magic” and all that nonsense.
The coaches do not need qualifications in nutrition or dietetics.
A sensible calorie deficit tracking your macros and micros means you know what nutrients you’re putting in your body which is what a pregnant woman should have. As well as regular exercise.
It works for people because they are in a deficit, unknowingly, but it is one of the worst fads in modern dieting. Because then once they go off SW they have no understanding of how they lost the weight, then gain; and have to go back. Not to mention changing syn values of foods when their actual nutrition value hasn’t changed. Anyways rant over lol I’m sure there’s a thread for that
She doesn’t care about slimming world, she’s just using it as another excuse because she simply cannot be bothered. Anyone remember the swimming she was going to start going every Friday? She gave that up before she even did one session. The fact she started trying for a baby after being told to lose weight first is so irresponsible of her, and she is just continuing to be completely irresponsible.
More problems she has, the more attention she’ll get, and we all know she wants that more than she wants a baby
