Not that I'm suggesting we alert the church elders or anything, but does Karen have a new boyfriend? She's away in the Lake District and keeps posting shots of two cups of coffee, two meals etc and then tagging some fitness guy who has now set his account to private (it was open yesterday). I'm a bit surprised she's advertising it in this way, if she does.

I was like surely she is with her mum but tagging a fitness bloke... I wonder if she's one of those people that loves the frill of the chase and the feeling of falling for a guy.

There was much analysis … and snippy comments about how this is an Appreciation Thread so if you want to complain that an expensive gift has been ignored, please don’t do it here, there will be a reason because he is very busy, you know. I think it was decided the random photo where he hadn’t thrown a tea towel over the hamper to hide it was thanks enough. The mental gymnastics of the Superfan are actually awe inspiring at times.

I didn't realise Geo and Anton were touring together next year too, between Jan till the new Strictly season starts up in August he only has May off from touring. That's a horrific amount of touring even for a Pro dancer, he's going to wreck his body.

Definitely, they need to stop being so risky with the celebs wellbeing. What happened to Nigel was ridiculous (being dropped by pros) and what could of happened to Ellie was just downright dangerous. It doesn't need to be bigger and better every year with more stunts that have the potential to go wrong. We just want good dances.

OMG now there's been some sort of massive electrical short-circuit and they've had to suspend the transmission! I am imagining Nikita and Vito passing a bottle of grappa back and forwards and communicating using only their eyebrows..

Wondering if they will do the Vito/Nikita dance.

I hope so, but I can't see them lugging that big heavy rooftop prop around and setting it up in an arena every night. I think if they did that dance it'd have to be pretty heavily modified to leave it out, so I doubt they'd pick it. I think either the Afro-Latin Party one, or maybe the Disney 100 number is more likely.

Talking of, presumably if rehearsals start Monday people will be coming back this weekend and we will start to get some tour conent. Praise be Danny Mac!

How long do they typically spend on rehearsals? The first show is the 19th.

I love how we could now see footage of Vito literally having sex with someone and be 'oh those over-affectionate Italians and their platonic friends!'

I just heard Eddie interviewed on Radio 4 about the DRC - really good programme. I know he and Karen had a laugh, but it did make me think that a pro like Katya would have really made him shine - he has a great personality and can move, but Karen just stuck a few basic Latin moves in for him.

I put it on there but it's so incomprehensibly long it's unspeakable. The power is now back. TBH I was just hoping to get a glimpse of Nikita or Vito in the audience...

Is the winner decided purely on social media likes or have I made that up?

TBF I think there was a definite flirtation/something between H and V. I do feel a bit bad though as after the story came out he stopped commenting on her posts and hasn't done so since. So maybe we ruined their fling! I presume she just didn't want the attention on her personal life after all that had happened.
Even on Saturday, she was there with Fleur and would have definitely met Vito but there was no pic or special acknowledgement of him and Ellie...

finalists from the previous series do they get invited to come and watch the next years final as I'm sure I noticed Dan and Sara in the audience of last years final

 

[Boring Monday]

I've said before, I love Gio. I've got tickets for his tour this year (first time). Me and the old dear are long time fans of Anton. We've seem him and Erin loads of times and we've seen him and Gio last couple of times.

However, I think Gio would really struggle without Strictly. He's a good looking guy but he's not like Anton, he doesn't have "the patter"

He needs to start thinking beyond Strictly. He really doesn't want to end up like Brendan - one minute king pin, the next a discarded has-been.

(Me and old dear also saw Brendan on his tour when it had been announced he'd been dumped by Strictly - we'd only booked it cos we were in Blackpool and didn't like the act that was on in the hotel that night and he was the ONLY other choice)

I think a dance school would be the best option. I think Pauline Quirk has done well with her acting schools. This model might work for Gio.

However he might decide to return to Italy and live the rest of his life in the sun.

PS as I started off by saying, I love Gio. BUT at the last show with Anton, when he was prancing around in his boxers, you could see the start of paunch belly!!! I feel bad saying this cos I'm 2 ton tessie. But my job doesnt depend on me being toned and fit. Anton however seems quite svelte for a guy nearing 60.

I see Maks Chmerkovskiy ex DwtS pro is going to be on the new series of The Traitors USA (US use celebs on their version. John Bercow is also going to be on <shrugs>). I think he’s also got a judging seat for So You Think You Can Dance as well.
