Neo Nazis gonna Neo Nazi.
Surely we can all agree that there were Neo Nazi/far right wing elements involved.
It’s hardly shock horror.
Why the need to labour that obvious point?
I don’t think anyone was disputing the fact? Just that they were in a minority.

Expenditure on asylum seeker costs is about £4.3 billion per year (most of which comes from the UK Overseas Aid budget). It is, of course, a considerable sum of money but to put it in perspective, represents about 0.4% of government spending on 'day to day' things (e.g the NHS, schools, prisons etc) and 'welfare' (e.g benefits, state pension etc). So even if it were possible to end all spending on asylum (and of course it isn't) it wouldn't exactly be transformative. I don't doubt some people believe that it would but that is the problem when people base their opinions of feelings rather than facts.

£4.3 billion a year is not to be sniffed at! It could and would make a lot of difference to a lot of people here.

Does that included cost incurred when they use the NHS? Or prisons?
Does the cost of incarceration of the over 1000 Albanians in UK prisons come out of that budget? Or the police costs (and time) in apprehending and investigating their crimes, or the court cost (and time) in prosecuting them?
Meanwhile, when al these resources are being used, other cases, like grape, are put on the back burner.

What about the ridiculous amount of money that Brexit has cost our economy (£140 billion) over the last few years, an ideology which got over the line thanks to ramped up xenophobia? Surely that's something to be more up in arms about.

Do you actually make any posts that doesn't include Brexit, Farage, Racist?
To answer your question, no, it isn't. It's £4.3 a year so far, and on-going.

It’s possibly to be up in arms about the cost of brexit and also the cost of asylum claims.

It's a bit silly to support an ideology that wastes that much money though if you're ranting about the asylum seeker cost, which is much lower. Lest you need reminding, the cost of Brexit is on-going.

Brexit's also ruined many smaller English businesses who can't absorb the increased costs of exporting. Two of my friends' businesses were wrecked because of it. Not exactly patriotic to support it, is it?

But hey, I guess it's given the racists and xenophobes a voice again for their "concerns".

I didn’t actually support Brexit, so can I now have your permission to have other ‘concerns’?
No duck that, I don’t need your permission.

It was the British people voted for Brexit was it not? Maybe they should put migration to a referendum?

Funny how these concerns always boil down to thinly veiled racism/xenophobia.

How would we even go about this?

"Do you support migration?"

Yes / No.

I think a lot of people would agree that some sort of migration is necessary; skilled workers etc. I don't think the average voter knows enough to be asked to put a number on it, and it's too nuanced a topic to be answered with yes / no.

I guess people would vote Reform by proxy if they want net zero migration.

I’m sure most people are aware of what’s going on by this stage ? they could tailor the wording depending on what needs answered.

How do you mean, people are aware of what's going on? We've just had white supremacist riots based on fake news, ignorance. and prejudice - I'd say that's an indicator that people don't actually know what's going on at all, but it is evidence that they are very susceptible to manipulation by hostile influences.

That there’s thousands of people coming into the country illegally that we’re being made to support.it’s not sustainable nor is it a crime to question what the hell is going to be done about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ other EU countries are bringing in their own restrictions , Hungary have cut all support to Ukrainians except those in the areas affected by war everyone else is getting zilch, are they classed as white supremacists for doing the job they were elected to do?
