Ok now I’m getting confused. I don’t follow her closely so she DOES speak Italian?

She speaks very little considering how long she has been there imo, she is not at all a good ad for those language courses, she reminds me.of an ex colleague I had in Rome (also American) who having lived there 4 years couldn't even conjugate basic verbs. Painful to listen to

I don't know, but when she put clips in her stories the other week I just assumed she related because she used to play the viola or violin. Lol! Can't remember. I'm curious.

I read the plot, it seems pretty heavy. I guess it's Me Too because there are false accusations of predatory behavior via a video taken out of context? Is that was Sofie is trying to say?

ETA: The critique I just read noted it takes aim at cancel culture. I wonder if that's more what she's worried about. Haha.

Omg, that sign was everything not actually funny. Interesting Sofie is so precious about her mental health but they'd probably just tell her to get laid to forget her problems. She's so contradictory. Da Tito has zillions of reviews, it's not hidden or a secret like Zoey thinks. But because it's outside the extreme center she must think she's in the know.

ETA: Trattoria Da Tito not to be confused with super anti-vax , "Io Apro" pizzeria da "Tito" in the Novoli area. Though by the stupid sign I imagine they are anti-vaxxers just the same lol.

Oh I didn't mean it was you @moronglace lol. But it was a similar situation, only this girl was looking to hang out. It was in her Stories, but maybe she bookmarked it.

Kacie collaborates with a tour company and she is "the face." She's not a tour guide, but she rakes in clients via her socials and then goes to hang out with everyone. Like a tour leader, maybe, but even less so. They are typically to the Amalfi coast, Rome and Florence.

Sorry this turned into the KR thread. But like Kylie, I've only ever seen glowing comments online and nobody else seemed to find her irritating. And since she hangs out with Sofie ...haha

I was just thinking about how Kacie went with Danae Mercer (over 2 million followers on IG and married to a wealthy Italian with a hotel chain) last year. Sofie is friends with Danae, who just had a baby mid-January. I am now wondering if Danae passed Sofie's name to the event organizers since she couldn't attend this year.

Ha! I'm glad you know who I'm talking about. I'm sure she's great giving pep talks to US students abroad, but she's no expert. And it's 2 years she's been crying about people saying she doesn't speak Italian, but she doesn't really make an effort. Which brings me to Sofie....Did you notice she pretended she also "learns Italian with Davide?" Lol. We all heard her actual language story from years ago. Kacie also does ads for this Davide person. It drives me crazy haha.

I think they meant Sofie acts like nothing is happening in the US while complaining about bullshit things being delayed in her newly renovated custom finished apt there, as an immigrant (passport or not).

That said, it is pretty beige, isn't it? TBF, most newer constructions are exactly like that and Italians love more minimal and modern features, for the most part. I don't know, maybe the commenter lives in her nonna's house. If anyone is able to find it, Casa a Prima Vista is a fun show and you can see so many homes at various price points.

I also like the bathrooms bc having tile, like you said, is just a PITA keeping up with grout.

I think Sofie isn’t speaking out about what’s going on in the U.S. because she probably doesn’t feel like she “has to”, she’s “not political” or whatever excuse privileged people use to get away with not showing at least some sympathy for the people suffering in the world. I’m not really surprised by that though.
