About the jeans thing I wonder how this happens, I assume she writes to them informing them of her Instagram, otherwise how would they know she was worth gifting to ?
Right? Like they obviously don't throw in a free pair for everyone! I also assume she makes a note she might feature them on her socials. 🙄

Kacie makes me cringe as a fellow American. She's not culturally curious, is she? (nothing new) I just know she's going to embarrass herself in London with her lack of knowledge about anything. I constantly have to fight off the "Americans are all stupid ignorant Trump voter" stereotype in Italy and she only demonstrates it. Not knowing the underground is called the Tube, but also admitting she assumed when she first got to Italy, everyone called it "the subway" made me physically tighten up. 🙈

I'm fortunate I got to travel while at University, but I knew these things BEFORE that because I had always dreamed of leaving lol. I read, I studied, I listened to "foreign" music, etc. I can never understand people who are so insular.

Why does she come off as such an asshole when she's "asking questions?" Why is getting tested monthly for something that can cause miscarriage or stillbirth bc you infected your baby with it such an inconvenience? Omg "So they make you get tested for toxoplasmosis every month here." ~smirk, bewildered head cock.
She recently did an ad promoting something for cat litter too lol

I don’t think she realizes that sometimes (a lot of the time) she comes off as a really arrogant snob.

Anyone see the comtents page of Lauren's book 🤣 also does it annoy Anyone else that she's using American spelling? Im intrigued as to how these guides Anyone makes could help people move to Italy, without a visa or EU passport that's the biggest hurdle, not finding out about dining etiquette

Wondering what Sofie will be doing for work in a few months. Am I right in recalling that she basically gets Italian maternity leave even though the company is American?
Yeah, I think she said that (bc her contract is EU, iirc). I can't imagine her going back to her SR job. How many ADs has she done in the past few weeks? I'll admit she's actually good at it. The "our evening routine" was one big ad, but she's not robot-y like some others.

I read that article too! She was so obnoxious it's hard to have any sympathy for her. She came across as such a "I'm not like others..."

And yeah, Kacie has this guide and a few others. I can't imagine what she wrote since all her advice is nothing you can't find anywhere else.

One thing I noticed was someone asked how to get a job in Italy. Thankfully she said she wasn't an expert lol. But she said she came to study and now works for her own "company" or whatever. So maybe she did convert her permesso to "lavoro autonomo" in the end. I'm sure she earns quite a bit (and no wonder she's been doing all those sponsorships lol).

Anyone see Sofie's abuelo's 90th surprise party? He was so cute ☺ And her dad is a very good looking guy lol. I couldn't believe he was 58.

Lmao, her second Vogue story had “gift” in very small text size and in white on a white background. Girl

No, is this on Tik Tok? Lol.

I immediately thought "yet another influencer book/guide?" I don't really think she's even popular enough to sell much.
I presume it'll be a self published e book. I saw it on the Instagram shorts which I am inexplicably being sent notifications about

And again. Not Kacie at a dinner with Italians, just sitting there and saying "Wowwwwww" (which I hate), while captioning she's intimidated by the lang/conversation. Lol.

I like how Sofie has paid multiple times for a “professional” to organize her spaces (closet, pantry) which is not really anything more than someone else deciding where you put stuff and buying the containers to put stuff in… that’s some bougie shit.

She talks like it’s impossible for immigrants to have money. I do not deny that it is incredibly difficult for immigrants in the United States because of our xenophobia and our systematic racism, but being an immigrant doesn’t inherently mean you’re impoverished. I highly doubt her grandparents came to America third-class Titanic style wearing rags and covered in soot. Her grandparents would have left Italy in what, the late 60s? (Sofie made a video five years ago about her mom turning 50, so mom was born in 1968.)
Oh definitely. And many immigrants did very well for themselves with hard work and passed on the wealth. Ahem.

As you mentioned a bit upthread, her violin lessons, equestrian hobby and studying a summer at the Sorbonne aren't attainable for everyone.

I'm sure she works hard and seems the go-getter type. But ...there's no denying her family had money. Her mother seems to live a very comfortable life with Sofie's stepfather. I'm not sure why this is such a chip on her shoulder.

Her wedding shoes alone cost around 1,000. I don't want to sound like people can't spend their money how they want, but for shoes worn once or twice it seems like money was no issue. Just own it.

I can't imagine being asked to go on TV and being so... bland? She doesn't even seem excited to be there, even though her TikToks before the interview were like "I'm doing something exciting!!" and she admits she had no idea what she was going there to talk about. Then she gets there and they ask about her relationship, her background, Italian cuisine. That's like... her entire personality on TikTok, so why was she so ho-hum?

Side note: Looking at her TikTok, there is a huge gap between like mid-March 22 (basically after she did the interview) until December 22 - but on IG she was posting her traveling, etc. I wonder if she deleted a bunch of TikToks in that time period?
I don't use tiktok but that seems likely, I cannot imagine going on Italian (or any TV from my adopted country) and introducing what I thought SO negatively. The host was clearly trying to be positive about it but even she seemed slightly taken aback imo

Yes! I have heard the same. I was just moving out of Florence when Coral was getting recognition. @emm might find this funny, but I asked friends if Coral was British or Aussie as I assumed, given her spelling and some slang. But no, she's American who tried/tries appealing to a broader audience. Lol.

@moronglace some other tea that goes back a bit. Nardia of Lost in Florence (who's been pretty mute for a few years) would definitely steal other people's ideas and swoop in on contacts and try to bag them first. She also had an issue with booze that I saw first hand. 👀👀👀
What are the chances that two italy-based grifters are faking their accents 😅

I wonder what the suocera thinks, she doesn't have a job, doesn't do housework etc. If I had a partner like this my friends/family wouldn't exactly be impressed
She got a degree specifically in teaching language and then in Italy didn’t have any intention of teaching but she always brags that she’s a language teacher. Girl since when? And she claims her “job” as a content creator is more work than a 9 to 5.

Kacie made a study abroad guide?
This girl must have read it 👇

Haha I read that, for someone who studied journalism it's so badly written. She complains about living with sobmany people but simultaneously about always being alone, for example.
Also a study abroad guide, did kacie study in Italy? Seems like a random thing for her to write
