Sofie's latest repost from a tik Tok in her stories rubs me the wrong way. The dude she reposted obvs has the big US dollars backing him just like Sofie. Too bad actual citizens can't afford shit and 30k a year isn't cute or something to tout as a selling point. Stagnant salaries aren't fun content for asshole expats with too much money and little sense.

Sofie's job (still her job, I assume) averages 75k a year. She IS the person he mentioned rolling in a limo. Add in the thousands she makes from social media and her obvious trust fund or similar.

Sofie would never be with an operaio or waiter earning 1200 a month. She'd never date a state employee scraping by at 1500-2000. She's with Emilio who also seems to come from a comfortable background getting to "quit" a law career (did he even do the exam?) and fart around on tours when not prancing with his show dog.

Oh definitely @emm . I should have explained my thought better. In that this Shayna and Sofie are so polished and so obviously privileged and care about appearance, there's a bit of snobbishness (at least from Sofie) whereas Kacie could never really fit in with them as she is now. I feel like she's had to have earned a good amount from Tik Tok, sponsorships (lol) and this tour thing, but it looks like she grew up middle class. At least from what I've seen of her family/home. I feel she doesn't fit in with these other two when it comes to "influencing."

But yeah, Kacie's crying is annoying anyway.

Yeah, I heard that and thought of this thread. How did that happen if she "never leaves the house?" Aside from every meet up, pilates sesh and beauty treatment she's gone to do since being granted medical leave as a high risk pregnancy...lol

Today is Kacie 's "huge announcement." I can't imagine what it could be, but am throwing out maybe an actual book (opposed to her self published e-books).

Oh, and I saw her ad post about Wild deodorant last week, as well as the latest. They've been with Kacie and Danae for a year, maybe 2 now. I found this and thought it was interesting. How anyone at this point could think any brand promoted is 100% random is beyond me.

I saw that Lauren is publishing a (what looks like un proofread by anyone else) e book and doing a tour (promoted not by videos of puglia but shots focused on her prancing around with a glimpse of puglia in the background)

Sofie has a new vlog. Another "day in my life" deal which she tagged as a paid promotion. I understand anyone can have body hang-ups. We all see and scrutinize our own perceived flaws more than anyone else does. Nonetheless, it's hard to relate to Sofie lamenting her own appearance when she has a body Victoria's Secret models could envy. I remember she stopped doing the Danae Mercer "me, bloated" type of posts a while back because nobody could really relate lol.

51:40 she says that she's a high risk pregnancy and is on medical leave from work, that the baby is thriving now but before it "wasn't the case". Wonder if that has anything to do with her being underweight?

I thought it was odd that she didn’t mention that until near the end of the video. I guess it explains why it seems like she hasn’t been working or doing much.

Maybe she has a nutritional deficiency or there was something developmentally wrong with the fetus. It could be her thyroid problem she mentioned too.

I’m realllly judging Sofie right now for not only hanging out with Zoey for more than one day, but also hosting her.
Zoey isn’t a good person anymore and it says a lot about her that she’s still this close to her.

Our three favorite Florence expats at Gucci Osteria! Manca solo Kylie, but can you imagine how she would get alone with Sofie? (Not that Kylie has girl friends) I wonder if she would try to out-Italian her out of insecurity and to assert dominance over the clueless Kacie and Danae

It annoys me Sofie seems to be friends with those 2 ditzes. Of the 3 only one speaks the language, has an actual job and is integrated. Sofie has her flaws but it's a strange friendship, IMO.

And lol...I agree with your ideas about Kylie. I'm sure Kylie would also take jabs at the beauty industry, despite her actually owning Chanel and YSL products lol. And don't forget, Kylie won't be drinking.

Yeah, I liked her "figuring things out" life in Italy content too. Her vlogs to different cities. I even enjoyed her "cappuccino con..." her niece and nephew.

I tuned out after she moved to the US because it was boring. I know what life in the US is like. Then I was momentarily curious about her move to Florence. But once I saw the pricey new appartamento and then her pushing Sunday Riley while not stating on camera she worked for them, well Ever since her content has appealed less and less to me, especially the new mother stuff bc again, I don't relate or care lol.

Also I guess there are some influencers I know are very wealthy to start, and whatever. I choose to view their luxury lifestyle. I don't know if Sofie hid hers initially or came into some inheritance before turning to brand contracts, ads etc. But clocking the thousands of euros she wears much of the time is strange to me given her early videos and life in Rome.

right? I still can’t comprehend how she and Emilio managed to snag that townhouse when she didn’t seem to be working full time. Does EF tours pay Emilio that well? Guess so.

Also, I haven't seen "Zia Zoey" commenting lately.

I’ve noticed that whenever she hangs out with Danae and some of those other Florence people she always gains a couple thousand followers, but then quickly loses them again. Same with Kacie.

@emm the papiro is something almost exclusively Veneto (but some might do it in Bologna and maybe Friuli. If you ask most Italians they've never heard of it), where they do a mock up poster size caricature of the laureato/a and write funny things and important events in their life. After the laurea, they have the graduate stand at a distance and try reading it. For every error, they have to take a drink. Lol. Here's an example.

The last several videos have all been the same, a day in the life… okay, but your main draw is that you live (once again) in Italy and you’re not really giving us that content when you just make quinoa bowls and clean out your closets.
