Weird that she's done this twice (I mean removing them) bizarre, I think even from a brand strategy it xoesnt make sense to have someone promoting it whose account is also so personal (also presumably will be a legal issue at some point for the lack of disclosure or ads)
Sunday Riley’s gotten in trouble before because their employees were urged by the owner to write fake five star reviews for their products. Maybe something similar is going on behind the scenes.

Emilio was even in town for tours. But if that didn't work out bc he was busy by day, I'm sure they knew someone? She has a network of people in Florence, somebody would have offered or known someone.

If Kacie understood anything of the convo this wouldn't be a problem. I don't understand how she promotes the language apps with a straight face, then always posts things like this.

And I don't understand Sofie always promoting the SR skincare, then goes to point out all her skin issues lol.

Ok I just watched. I don't love how she doesn't disclose she works for Sunday Riley (re: Her promotion for "the company" she works for in Italy). Especially since a product was in her faves. It seems shady.

Also those OH products are all gifts from the founder. On IG she tags them in tiny tiny font #gifted and when I went to that person's IG, she returns favors by promoting Sunday Riley and a bunch of other brands I assume she trades favors with.

I don't think I'd take any "Influencer's" recs with anything but a grain of salt.

You’re right, @Denise0211 - NonstopParis aka Cheryl is a friend of Zoey and, by proxy, Sofie. She used to have a YouTube channel but for some unknown reason took everything down several years ago. They did that whole “grande futuro” merch drop which to me was very much like “fetch” in Mean Girls.

Plain text on a tee? For influencer merch? Groundbreaking.

“Stop trying to make ‘grande futuro’ happen! It’s not going to happen.”

By the way, the real OGs might remember that at one point Sofie had her own T-shirt merch that had pizza slices for tiddies.

I saw KR’s story addressing the hate comments but looking at the original post, it took me a while of scrolling before I really found anything and even then I wasn’t sure what the problem was. She made it sound like she was getting shit left and right but from what I saw it was a few people saying “Really, Kacie?” 🙄 she strikes me as being very sensitive to negative feedback.
By the way, is the majority of her audience even Italian? Those are the people I would assume have the biggest problem with what she did.

From what I have seen @emm , Kacie mainly speaks English with Dario's friends. I've seen this in her IG stories anyway, and even when Sofie and her husband were there for Thanksgiving, they were all speaking in English for the most part (not directly to the camera, that is.) I guess that's why KR crying about comments she isn't fluent annoys me. The easiest way is just insist on speaking with her boyfriend at home. And even then, now that I think of it, in her stories they watch tv all in Eng too.

While Sofie has always seemed interested in Italy, also due to her grandfather, Kacie is just someone who took a trip to Italy and sparks flew. I don't think she really wants to live here, nor as any natural curiosity about the country, history etc.

Given Kacie’s recent announcement about her Amalfi Coast tour, it’s kinda obvious that Sofie must be planning to get involved.
Again I must say: Amalfi Coast? As a tour destination?
Groundbreaking.
Yeh if you're paying a tour guide or something surelynthe point is for them to show you things you might not find otherwise? Kacie always just seems to go to things you see all over social media already

I know! Lol. I wonder how long the contract is for? I wonder why MZ Wallace chose her? At least she put AD this time. 😆
Those bags are hideous, she probably wants to use ad to make it clear she wouldn't have chosen it 🤣

Sofie has a new vlog. Another "day in my life" deal which she tagged as a paid promotion. I understand anyone can have body hang-ups. We all see and scrutinize our own perceived flaws more than anyone else does. Nonetheless, it's hard to relate to Sofie lamenting her own appearance when she has a body Victoria's Secret models could envy. I remember she stopped doing the Danae Mercer "me, bloated" type of posts a while back because nobody could really relate lol.
Yeah, I remember some time during 2020 she was probably scraping the barrel for what to post so she did a few things about Instagram vs. reality à la Danae and denouncing the use of beauty filters on social media. I've experienced a pretty noticeable weight gain over the last few years (while already not in a straight-size body) due to lockdown, hormonal birth control, and SSRIs, etc. so if a conventionally skinny person talks about this I take it with a grain of salt. It's sad that even someone as slim as Sofie should feel this way.

Even her friend Zoey (who has adopted some very ED-adjacent habits over the last years like the lemonade cleanse) is posting content where she's massively sucking in her stomach and sharing a "thinspo"-style picture on her "vision board".

These ladies need to assess why they feel this way about their bodies instead of diving headfirst into diet and supplement trends. Good for Sofie for wanting to drink more water, but (sadly, as always) there is a downside to "too much of a good thing".
There's been a lot of discourse online about the whole "Watertok" trend - basically a new kind of influencer sharing "recipes" for beverages consisting of water, sugar-free flavored syrups and sometimes packets of powdered water enhancer packets.

The watertok stuff teeters on the verge of ED territory, because often people who struggle with disordered eating will try and consume copious amounts of water to create a satiated feeling without actually consuming calories (watertok recipes, like Crystal Light, are touted as being low-carb, low-sugar).
Remember the case of Terri Schiavo? I was so young when her name was all over the news, it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that her name creeped back into my brain and I wanted to know why she went into a vegetative state. It turns out she suffered cardiac arrest because she had low potassium levels caused by drinking too much water, which she was doing to try and lose weight!

(I'm definitely not saying Sofie is promoting ED behavior, just throwing it out there that there are downsides to drinking too much water and influencers should be mindful of these things)

I haven't watched but this seems awful. I also hated her going on about being insecure about facial hair. I get that childhood bullying affects you but if, in your mid 30s, you are still stressing about this it is a bit sad...
I always marvel at how much influencers must have confidence to share themselves online, I think you have to be a certain kind of personality to be able to broadcast your image, your thoughts, and your life for the world to see.
Her self consciousness about having dark facial and body hair, if that's the biggest flaw she sees in her appearance, is a lot easier to deal with compared to people who have poor body image due to things like birth defects, genetic disorders, etc...

LinkedIn says he is “presently” a tour manager for EF Tours (which he did before they left Rome). Either he got that job back or just never changed his LinkedIn. Before that he was a sommelier and a tax lawyer.
I think that is still his job (got it back) since he's away for work for weeks at a time like when they were in Rome.

Your anecdote about contacting KR reminds me of when she did a mini rant about people contacting her and being disappointed in her. 😂 It was some time in the past year and I guess someone wrote her saying she would be alone in Florence while traveling or just arrived to study and could they meet up. I guess Kacie never replied and the girl wrote her again saying how rude since KR was out and about in town. So Kacie reposted this girl's message and went on about "boundaries." The other 2 from the Firenze Trinity (Sofie and that Danae Mercer) were with her at breakfast. My thought was since this person wasn't paying for a KR tour, she and others get ignored.

ETA: I never knew how Dario was able to work in a decent restaurant in NY. TBH, just a feeling I have, he will likely look again in the US or at least in northern Europe since Kacie really doesn't even seem to want to acclimate. Most of her dumb posts are about how much she loves and misses NYC or how she shouldn't have to change or how great it is in Copenhagen and Amsterdam or anywhere US (junk)food is available.

Also back to Sofie and your comments on her nice living spaces and such. She doesn't seem the type to buy fakes, and maybe they are...but she has a Cartier ring and I recently clocked a Chanel classic flap. It doesn't bother me, but it irritated me when she tries to defend her working hard and "manifesting".

Sometimes when I need background noise I might put an old video of hers on, I picked one where she had just moved to Florence and she's gushing about how the produce in Europe is sooo good because it's not full of pesticides. It's not "girl who just came back from abroad", it's "girl just returned abroad and needs to brag about how much better she has it now".
I think she doesn't realize that they do use pesticides in Europe, lol.

"I can't explain the flavor of that, it's what a strawberry should taste like"
Bitch it's just a strawberry.

Has Kacie mentioned taxes before? She said in a recent video that her business is US-based and was thinking this might be about her. Or is this maybe about Shayna Terese Taylor?
I think it's about Thea from "Doing Italy." She's so fake AF and always makes things seem so easy and magical. Kacie has promoted her about "moving to Italy" bc it's not her expertise. As dumb as KR is she never mentions how to move or taxes.

I haven't looked at Thea's content in a while bc, as I mentioned, she annoys me with her toxic positivity. Are there other expats who do more "Move to..." content?

ETA: Me now doing a deep dive into Thea's content and looking into others. 😂

Does everyone have to advertise tours and Italian with Davide on the same day? I first saw Kacie’s ad and then Sofie’s… sure his course registration is only open for one day, but if they didn’t both post about it on the same day it would maybe be slightly less obvious that it’s a plug and she’s not actually spending her lazy Sunday studying potere vs. riuscire.

Yeh I am always surprised at them going on about how insecure they are etc yet deciding to broadcast your life online I don't get how that makes sense, especially with channels that are basically just lifestyle and showing day to day life
