I don't think Sofie ever claims to be healthy, and if they're happy in the body they're in, that's fine. No one owes anyone else health. BUT... I think they should at least be able to maintain a level of fitness that means they can walk Hank and give him the life he deserves (or at least hire a dog walker!!!)

I think a big problem is that her diet also probably negatively impacts her mental health tbh, all that junk food cannot make her feel good, mentally or physically

Which one of her followers is gonna take the bait and ask her! She blatantly posted it so she could get those kind of comments, then get the deep pleasure of scolding them over 20 or so stories and processing TRAUMA.

Come on Sofie fans someone get the party started. I'd throw in a "aren't you worried about covid considering you're so fat you have a hard time standing up", or maybe a "you know what's more covid safe? WALKING your DOG" for a bit of extra bait

She’s off again. At this point I’m not sure what point she is trying to make.
I used to look after someone who was physically disabled, I won’t go into details but she was paraplegic. We travelled to a scandi country that was so inaccessible I did a full body workout the whole time. If you want a train and use a wheelchair you have to call in advance for them to provide a ramp otherwise they’ll leave you there, there was limited disabled toilets so I had to help her into the ladies and often crawl out to provide her dignity- holding the door from the outside. Her partner was also disabled so they had to employ 2 carers to go away for the weekend. We visited a palace while there (sometimes they make carers (clients) pay, other times not) and simply couldn’t visit parts of it.
She also happened to be pretty brutal about anyone able bodied and simply felt all of her carers and people around her had great lives on account of being able bodied, by Sofies estimation she would be fatphobic too… it was easy to me why she would feel that way, she wasn’t ignorant she had many barriers in her life because of her body. Of course she felt that way about fat able bodied people.
why can’t she ever say ‘I can see how what I said seemed insensitive’ before explaining herself? The lack of humility is astounding.

That's just a small example.

She came out as non-binary and said that she wanted to encourage discussion, questions, etc. When her followers did actually send through questions to her, she posted their questions and tore them to shreds.

I used to love her; got her book and listened to her podcasts religiously. But she seems to bait her followers constantly by inviting them to share their opinions/questions/advice one minute and criticising any input the next.

She just strikes me as lonely and unhappy.

I've now just been looking at her insta... her complaining her flat is "tiny", she has two bathrooms and one with a bath?! how is that tiny, I would love to have a flat that big!

Yes! She was a whiny bitch over lockdown at her home. I couldn't bear looking at or listening to her and have since unsuited. Same with Sophie. I found her charming at first then quickly realised what a self absorbed broken woman she is.

So... once again followers are the worst people ever for reading a tone from a message / story / caption, but it’s absolutely fine for Sofie to do it, and basically call this person (who asked an absolutely inoffensive and reasonable question) annoying?!

"gross" things get thrown out... so no one else could appreciate them? and do most people break landlord's rules? I cannot recall myself or any of my flatmates ever doing so. Jesus the whole tone of that message... had I already not unfollowed I would be unfollowing now

Geeeeees Sofie. Women's hour is (as of late) a very forward thinking feminist programme that respectfully handles a whole bunch of modern inequality issues. They are not trying to catch you out just because they don't worship at your feet and present your opinion as fact.

I’ve been interviewed by Emma Barnett and she was actually one of the better on air interviewers I’ve had. She’s quite intimidating but knows how to get the best answers out.

I listened to it yesterday and Sofie just didn’t make good points. That’s all, no backing up of “studies” etc.

It’s a pity as I think what they were saying is quite important, we shouldn’t treat people different for weight, but the points weren’t well put across.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I used to be a fan. I went to one of her gigs, bought her book, etc. I agree with her on a lot of things: socialism, feminism, body neutrality/body positivity/etc.

But back in March/April she started going on about how she was worried about money because of Lockdown (not the only one!), started her Patreon her (non-funny comedy shows) then she moved flat and bought so much new stuff (and some of it is pretty expensive!), painted with expensive paint, etc.

Also, she went on and on about how she wasn't going to rush into getting a dog, then suddenly she was getting a dog. Went on and on about how she was going to be responsible about getting a dog ... but then because she couldn't get one there and then (*stampy feet*) she bought one from a breeder. And when she was called about by anyone they got blocked and called a c*nt. Ugh.

I asked her about what she was going to do about Hank when she was touring and she claimed it wouldn't be an issue, he'd come with her and she only really stays in dog-friendly hotels anyway. Ummmmmmm, no. Hotels might be dog friendly if you've got a properly trained and socialised dog, not one which clearly has no boundaries and isn't getting trained. Maybe she is walking him, but I suspect not.

Okay rant over. Sorry, had to get it off my chest!

Most small business have only a handful of employees (sometimes it’s just the founder by themselves) so thats asking a lot isn’t it! And to rush down to the post office/sort courier express delivery. And I think if you’re a small clothes business then presumably you mostly make your products to order, rather than having a few size 30 items just hanging about. Sofie is on another planet.

Also how is having another person in your home for a sustained period of time ‘higher risk’ than getting a delivery? You know, a delivery person who remains outside and leaves your food on the doorstep?

tbh I think on some level she KNOWS she is more at risk but doesn't want to admit it...

yeah totally agree, also how can you compare being fat and being a POC (in most cases) you can change your weight, i know there are of course exceptions, but a POC cannot change themself.
I find this denial of the health issues of being overweight (and I say this is someone who is also overweight) ridiculous as it just undermines the whole body positive movement, there are plenty of ways to argue for being okay with people being overweight, arguing it is not unhealthy is not one of them
