I honestly can’t. I’d forgotten I was still subscribed to their newsletter until I got a notification about a new one today.
5 paragraphs into the story they were telling and bam “This ended up being a much longer and much more intense post, so I put it up on my Patreon instead. Sorry for the unintentional clickbait.”

Wtf? I’m subscribed to a few people’s newsletters and never seen crap like this.

From them being so so opposed to having a personal Patreon (and for the record, I paid for that for a while when I was still a fan), to using a newsletter, a free perk, to bait people like she’s a newspaper putting articles behind a paywall?

Totally understandable to link the Patreon in the newsletter / promote it, but damn that was not classy.

I didn’t realise Sofie had a thread. I’ve been a fan and still follow her, but like basically everyone has mentioned, I’m getting so annoyed by this pattern of initiating a discussion with followers then aggressively telling people off for not discussing it in the Right Way. Like, don’t open it to the floor then?

During the dog adoption process there was a specific incident and she literally called this person (who I don’t think think had been that rude, just not fawning and approving their every move) a c*nt, and totally doubled down on it.

It also kind of bothered me how unprepared they were for their ticketed lockdown live shows. Struggled to fit things into the time frame, jumped all over the place... if you’re going to charge people, maybe could have at least rehearsed it alone or to a friend? And now when people ask questions related to a show topic (like fat and health) Sofie will tell them to buy the show... which honestly would be such a waste of money for how badly organised they were. It would make more sense to promo their book Happy Fat, but I guess they don’t because it’s not the same profit.

Sorry for the rant. I like Sofie but these things have been really annoying me.

Exactly this. Sofie portrays herself in a certain way that makes her seem woke or progressive, but the reality of her life doesn't necessarily reflect that. For example, she's critical of puppy mills but got Hank. She's not straight but she has only been with cis men. She's a socialist but is doing a pretty good job of fueling capitalism. She wants to open up dialogue but attacks anyone who dares to message her, etc.

I agree with everything you’ve said but her not having dated a woman or non binary person doesn’t invalidate her sexuality

That's exactly what I've said from the beginning - Sofie has anxiety. Sofie doesn't like leaving her flat. She's projecting it all onto Hank.

She got Hank for such selfish reasons; not to give him a better home but to serve her needs.

She bought Hank, didn't she? Even if he was adopted, it could be argued that a life with her is better than no home but nah.

I just can't understand why she got him - just to post on social media?

I think this is a bit harsh tbh
I have put on loads of weight recently and I know I need to lose it, but that said look at what she eats and what it makes me think is that I need to eat better to not feel so shit . Her diet is just awful and I feel SO awful for her dog

I think we all feel the same really. Sofie’s videos are sort of inspirational for being so uninspiring, she makes eating crappy but expensive food look so unappealing cos she does it in a grubby flat in a grubby dressing gown whining about how lazy she feels!

God knows my eating patterns aren’t perfect, I stacked it on over Christmas and I can’t help but think there’s my own internalised fatphobia mixed in with my reactions to her day in the life videos, but honestly? there’s nothing like the depraved prospect of four choc mousses for breakfast and ordering a subway in for lunch to make me want to reach for fresh veg and go out in the fresh air

I have no issue with Sofie being non binary. I have no issue with Sofie generally, as I don’t follow her any more, so her rants about socialism tagged onto requests for influencer work don’t raise eyebrows any more. I do worry about that poor dog though because she clearly has no idea what the fuck she’s doing with him.

I had an elderly rescue dog who was anxious as fuck but that literally meant I didn't take him to the dog park or down main roads. He still massively enjoyed our quiet exploratory walks. They will only overcome it with practice anyway. Unfortunately dogs can't have therapy.

Also is her neighbourhood so unsafe she can't walk in the morning or day time?!

I saw this too. I’m a pretty left leaning, social justice advocate but *sigh* I’m getting so soooo tired of every single thing being an issue these days. And Sofie is an example of fat white woman absolutely desperate to be seen as oppressed. Examples like these above…I think, have you guys not got bigger hills to die on? How about we focus on this countries issues with racism and what’s going on in Afghanistan (and not just when it’s popular to do so) instead of worrying about the fucking roots of pegging

It's the same with #trauma - Sofie is desperate to paint herself as the perpetual victim so that she can us it as an excuse for being an all-round unpleasant human being.

I wonder whether she has an real-life friends at all? (Will Duggan being paid to drive her around on tour does not count as a friend.) She openly admits that she blocks anyone on Instagram who dares to disagree with anything she says, so I can't imagine her maintaining any friendships.

Of course. And that's a pure coincidence that most patients in intensive care are fat. She's deluded and criminal.

In my country, all studies show that severe obesity (BMI superior to 35) significantly increases the risk of being placed under invasive mechanical breathing machines, regardless of age and regardless of the pathologies who can be linked to obesity (high blood pressure, diabetes...).
About half of the patients in intensive care for covid are severely obese (and there are far less fat people here than in Britain, let alone obese).

That's why they need to get the vaccine and protect themselves particularly. That's why they are on the vulnerable people lists, everywhere as far as I know

She really is being nasty and defensive about breaking the lockdown rules. I'm not saying what she did was awful, but for someone who has only left the house a few time, is supposedly really careful because of Covid, and has been critical of others for breaking the rules, it seems rather strange that getting her bathroom painted was so important to her. Her bathroom, which surely she could have painted herself. If she wants to be an 'influencer' then she maybe needs to think more about the messages she's sending.

I'm also laughing the she's claiming that she's trying to do some kind of 'no buy' month and has spent nearly £100 upcycling a bathroom cabinet ... and it looks totally tacky and cheap.
