I found a thread which explains it so I don’t have to keep answering questions as I’m trying to read another thread, sorry 😂
For anyone who is interested, also don’t come at me calling me a conspiracy theorist I already said I am skeptical but I do find the theory interesting and I like to keep an open mind because never say never?

To be honest this is 99% of the reason why I can't get behind any CT that involves someone wanting to take over the world 😂 what would be the point?
Especially when it’s the “people in charge” like...they’re already in charge though?
To an extent I don’t really care. Not because I’m an awful person, but because if someone unleashes havoc on the whole world I’ll just accept my fate, I’ve got no real skills for fighting online orIRL, I’m weak and unwell so better for me to just go along with it and hope for the best.

That’s true we definitely have enough food to go around especially tinned foods but people are so greedy, remember the stock piling last year when so many people were piling their trolleys full, just shows when it comes down to it most people will only think about themselves and unfortunately a lot of people don’t have the privilege to go into a store and buy a full trolley of food
Most those people stock pretty much the same stuff though. There was never a shortage of lentils, brown rice or dried beans. I can live without baked beans and white pasta🤣

Do you think this will happen this year ? Or soon ?
I need to read more into this. I don’t know where to start. I hope it’s not true.

I mean Putin doesn’t seem to mind achy balls haha. It’s countries who pose threats: China has state sponsored hackers who carry out cyber attacks & Russia gives their approval for the hackers in their country by sitting on its hands. Besides threatening water supplies / dams and the electricity grid that hospitals sit on for ransoms, there are a lot of crimes that go on and the costs ultimately get borne by consumers.

I’m not sure, but from what Iv read people are predicting this winter. The wef just had the cyber polygon simulation on July the 9th so possibly a few months away? (If it actually happens)

All of this was predicted last winter too, I know this because my own parent decided to scare me to death to the point I ended up on anxiety medication. Telling me to stock up on food supplies and water etc and get a generator. Also she started keeping a baseball bat and various other weapons by her door. I spent a small fortune stocking up on food, I had so many bottles of water and I spent days waiting for something on edge. It massively effected mine and my child’s life.
Im no longer in contact with her, it took some really good friends and family to point out that she’s a heavy cannabis smoker and has massive paranoia and has now been diagnosed with mental illness. But I assure you it was exactly the same last year and there’s no point in even discussing these things with people who believe them because they seem to enjoy the catastrophic predictions and they don’t actually give one damn about what it does to anyone else’s mental health, it’s never a rational conversation and you’ll just be told you’re not “awake”.
On that note I’m out of this thread which is a shame as the original post was a good rational conversation, but some of this is now way too triggering for me. For those with any hint of anxiety, take care and take it all with a tiny pinch of salt.

Who benefits from something like this happening?
Tbf the same could be said for COVID and we seem to have seen a rise in conspiracy theories with that

It’s not hard to see how any event could have the same impact 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldn't worry. For every state-sponsored hacker who wants to take down the system, there's always some socially-challenged teenager living in his mum's basement who can override it all for us.

Why would anyone want to take over the world this way or at all when society is heading towards collapse anyway? I mean how long have we got, what with climate change and overpopulation? I think those things are much more serious compared to a conspiracy theory 🤷‍♀️

I am feeling the same way tbh. Thanks for your contribution :) I enjoyed your perspective

Ok well I, like 90% of people will take my chances cruising through life in ignorance.
I’m still waiting for that nuclear explosion I was promised in the 80s.
I remember back in 2000 we had the mellenium bug which we were told would cause planes to crash from the sky and nuclear reactors to go onto meltdown. Nowt happened, other than IT companies becoming very rich providing bug solutions. Which were basically changing the year on the date field from two digits to four.

I can pretty much guarantee that somewhere in the world, almost certainly some backwoods state in the US, there will be some people who have been living in a bunker since 2000 convinced the world ended on January 1st.

Possibly be ok without internet but they probably rely on it a lot now. I think we are talking about different things as I was previously talking about the cyber attack which is explained on the world economic forum, it would include a shutdown of power grids as well as internet so therefore we would set back by 100 years and nothing would be able to work = economic chaos and society collapse.
Ah yes I was speaking specifically just the internet, not the power grid! Of course if the power grid went out then yes it would be chaos. NHS trusts have back up generators though. I am not entirely too sure if they rely on the power grid (I doubt it considering they're for when the power goes out) but how long they would work for I have no idea.

It is a bit of a fallacy that the millenium bug/y2k all came to nothing and was just a big fuss for no reason but it actually involved a lot of IT professionals working around the clock to test the f**k out of their software to ensure fixes and patches would hold up at the switch over hence why nothing dramatic happened.

The UK and Ireland are among five nations most likely to survive a collapse of global civilisation, researchers have said.

A study has suggested a combination of ecological destruction, limited resources and population growth could trigger a worldwide breakdown "within few decades", with climate change making things worse.

Five countries were identified as best placed to maintain civilisation within their own borders, with New Zealand topping the list and followed by Iceland, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia.

Apparently UK was also one of the countries identified as being best prepared for a health emergency and look how that has gone
The uk was best prepared, it just didn’t follow its own advice. Apparently a British journalist interviewed a scientist in Singapore at some point in 2020 and asked why Singapore was doing so well compared to the uk. The scientist replied, we’re following the UK plan unlike the UK 😳

I think complacency over swine flu coming to almost nothing a few years earlier played a huge role in all that. It’s why downplaying Y2K is risky - one crisis avoided or overcome with relative (or outward seeming) ease doesn’t mean the next will follow suit.
