Thank you. What a brilliant thread. I didn’t think they’d have one because everyone seems right up their backside on FB. The debt collection agency stuff is shocking! I blindly bought an annual sub naively thinking that they were the holy grail. Anyway I’ll stop with the Team RH bashing since I am aware that it works for many.
Thanks for sharing. ♥

So much bull in there, I don’t know where to start.
Its all a bit contradictory really. 'A calorie controlled diet is not the best way to achieve health'

But a diet of muller lights, choc shot, sweetener and fry light is? I havent been a member for a while but things like muller lights and choc shot were always advertised in there magazine when I used to buy it, before anyone crops up that they dont encourage members to eat those.

Theyre obviously losing members with lockdown. I think many people have looked at other options they wouldnt have even considered had classes continued.

Most people give up on diets because they feel restricted. I felt so restricted on SW, felt I couldn't go out or grab food on the go. The whole page is a complete contradiction.

SW are definitely rattled.
Are they having a laugh? I’ve known more people give up on SW than any other “plan”. I’ve done it myself 4 times. As someone said above, it’s a great way to encourage cooking from scratch and promoting lean meats and vegetables, BUT, it definitely demonises foods. I can’t forgive the avocado thing and also nuts.

Is SW the one where you can only have a banana if its mashed up? Madness 🤣

I appreciate it works for some and that's great, I have a pal who has been going FOUR years and is still the same size. They'll happily take her money though.

5 syns if you mash it with a fork. Free if you mash it with your teeth inside your mouth...🤨

Obviously it works for some and it doesnt for others
It worked for me , lost my weight that I needed and I’ve happily maintained at my target weight and it’s defo not restrictive for me

I think it depends what you like to eat. I like to be able to pick things up on the go but also I like biscuits. I dont want to have to pick between picking a pre packed sandwich up and then not being able to have mayo / ketchup / a biscuit with my tea at night.

I want to be able to add fruit to my baked oats without it impacting what oil I can add to dinner.

I want to have oats or cereal for breakfast and a toastie for lunch without using 5 or 6 of my precious syns on one of them.

Ive also been at target with SW but couldnt maintain it for the above mentioned reasons. It was too restrictive for my life style. I also like being able to use things like jarred sauces or fresh soups without attaching a syn value to it. Especially when home made isnt any less calories half the time.

I cant do all of that and not weigh out things like pasta / rice / potatoes etc. Probably why I was up and down when I tried.

@Instagram Sham thank you for the book recommendation, it arrived yesterday and I’m 1/3 of the way through. The novelty of the pubs being open and being ‘off plan’ and not really knowing what to do with myself without the structure probably means I’ll put on this week, but I’m hoping it will level out. It has been such a relief this week not being all consumed by how I’m going to use my Healthy Extras, my syns, have I got enough of everything in the fridge at home to create SW compliant meals rather than just going yeah we’ll have whatever. My boyfriend said I have been a lot more easy going. I guess I just need to get it under control on an even keel or I’ll be back in a bad mood cos I’ve put on a load of weight 🤷‍♀️ the vicious cycle. Still rid of the sore throat without the dairy.

RE the SW post about calorie counting, I’ve nothing against SW it’s been helpful for me and is for a lot of people but that contradicts itself at every turn 🤣 Slimming World and Science don’t belong in the same sentence 🤣
