Thanks guys, I'm a bit confused about the oil/balm + another cleanser though. Won't oil make my skin oilier? Does anyone have any recommendations for a relatively cheap one? I've looked at the body shop tea tree stuff and it looks good - would that be the first or second cleanser?
Go for the Super facialist vit c+ Brighten skin renew cleansing oil!!! It’s unreal for the price and can get it on prime free quick delivery! I got it for £8 during the week. I’ve repurchased this many many times…. It’s better than the environ pre cleanse oil and the Clinique take the day away balm and less than half the price! Also smells unreal lol I recommend it to all my friends aswell it’s such a good product

p.s I use it as a pre cleanse to remove make up, just rub on make up face and remove with a warm face cloth

My holy grail is the simple cleansing oil. Won’t use anything else. Plus it’s always on offer too. £3.49 in Superdrug at the minute

I bought this once, it’s very good and it lasted me forever. Literally I thought I was never going to finish the bottle 😂

What advise did you get? 😊 currently suffering with mild rosacea!
I think what’s helped is Azelaic Acid which I got from The Ordinary, but it’s hard to tell exactly as I also started using HA at the same time and just generally getting better with my cleansing routine. The Azelaic can sting a bit at first so use conservatively to begin with but I love the way it makes my skin feel!

My routine is:
AM: Cleanse, Hyaluronic acid, SPF
PM: Double cleanse, Hyaluronic acid, Azelaic acid then moisturiser.

Hope this helps x

Thank you so much for the la roche-posay anthelios sunscreen recommendation! It works great with my oily skin. I was using the Heliocare one and it was just terrible!

Also loving the inkey list retinol in alternation with paula’s choics BHA exfoliant. My forehead texture and milia has really improved.

Are there any facials that you all get from time to time that you feel helps improve the appearance of your skin? I have oily, acne prone, sensitive skin that can get congested.

I really appreciate all the advice and finally feel like I have a routine that works for me. Open to any suggestions to optimise it.

AM
Cosrx morning cleanser
Cosrx snail mucin
Cerave moisturiser
La roche-posay anthelios sunscreen

PM
Dermalogica precleanse
Cosrx morning cleanser
Inkey list retinol or Paula’s choice bha exfoliant in alternation.

Can anyone recommend a good gradual fake tan for very pale skin?
I haven't tried the gradual version, but I'd definitely recommend Amanda Harrington London in 'Natural Rose'. I'm pale with cool undertones and it's really natural, I haven't bothered with tan for years because it always looked orange on me. Fairly easy to apply and didn't look patchy when washing off. I bought the body mousse on offer from lookfantastic and the face spray (with a little brush) from amazon

This sounds so amazing so I looked it up, but I noticed it contains olive oil and wanted to share - when I tried DHC cleansing oil my skin got extremely clogged up and lots of breakouts. It was then that I found out olive oil is slightly comedogenic - not as much as e.g. coconut oil but moreso than oils like grapeseed or mineral. I've realised that I am particularly prone to clogged pores/breakouts on anything a 2 or above on this scale and thought it might help anyone who hasn't had successful experiences with oil/balm cleansing in the past - worth looking at the oils in question and where you might sit in terms of tolerance of comedogenic oils: https://www.herbaldynamicsbeauty.co...ng-the-comedogenic-scale-for-oils-and-butters

I really envy my friends who can put literal coconut oil on their faces! I can get bacne purely from the run off after using and rinsing off coconut oil containing conditioners in a short shower 😅

I really like the tan luxe gradual tan which has HA in and I am blonde and fair, I want to try the Amanda Harrington face tanning mist - it’s meant to be amazing!

To those of you who use the ordinary azelaic acid, does it smell medicinal. I don’t think I’ve been sent a legit product

Can anyone recommend any good products for treating hormonal acne - on my chin I get the usual four (all named after the Beatles at this bloody rate). I don't use tea tree and my usual routine is an oil based cleanser, relevant toners etc. Just wondering if there are any good solutions to make them go down quicker (I've used spot stickers, but thinking of other options).

Has anyone tried the caudalie beauty elixir spray? Don’t know whether to get that or the vinoperfect serum or both?

im happy with my current skincare as it’s keeping my skin really clear but it’s only a cleanser AM and PM, Paula’s choice BHA PM and hyalaronic acid AM - feel like I want to brighten my skin and make it more even/glowy but don’t want to disrupt the good thing I’ve got going on haha

ideally want a nice serum and an spf that’s not going to break me out, so nervous to add new things!!

If you're choosing between the spray and the serum I'd vote serum every time. It's going to be more effective! I've been tempted to try the serum myself, I have heard good things.

The Caudalie spray irritates my skin, but even if it didn't I think a serum is a more effective product to add in before a face mist. (Definitely try one down the line, they're fun - but less essential imo)
