Yesterday morning.

Got up, no sign of Jimmy as he is usually treating the bed and its contents (me) like a trampoline in his eagerness to get his breakfast.

Went downstairs and he is in his chair looking rather miserable.

I gave him breakfast which he did eat some of but abandoned his usual routine of following me about the house and wanting attention.

He spent the morning lying on the bedroom floor and hadn't done a wee or a poo since the previous evening.

Come lunchtime and no change so I made an appointment with the vet for 4 pm.

Five minutes, five fecking minutes after I made that appointment, Jimmy comes skipping downstairs, polishes off his breakfast with gusto and does a wee. I barely had the wee scooped up when he went back in and did a poo.

I rang the vets to cancel the appointment and watched Jimmy chase a ball around the livingroom floor while I did so.

I tried explaining "The Cat Who Cried Wolf" to him but to no avail.

We met and adopted a cat today. She’s settling in nicely and of course we’ll be keeping her in for a few weeks but when the time comes to let her out, could anyone recommend a tracker they use please? I want a fancy one that will give me a map of where my cat has been but suspect they may be pricey 😅

Earlier today Thor was asking for food, my husband told him to wait and Thor did a big meow that sounded like he was saying 'wow' in a rather sarcastic fashion. 😂

So funny because he has such a quiet voice, more of a croak really.
Wow! Haha.

Does anyone's cat drink a lot or any water? Give cleo fresh water twice a day but I've never seen her drink any ever.
Cats can be funny with water. I barely ever see my Susan drinking yet I see Thor all the time.

Bonus, holding hands.

That's so cute, both of my cats just hide when people come over then sniff suspiciously after they leave 😅

Mille, the Mitt Mauler, was like that. She only interacted with me and nobody else. If visitors came, she would either leg it through the cat flap or else bolt upstairs and hide in the spare room.

If the visitors were staying quite a while, then she'd creep downstairs and then leg it through the cat flap. Then she would jump onto the livingroom window ledge and berate us for disturbing her routine.

This is her.

3 am and I was woken by heavy rain beating against the window.

I muttered something and turned over to go back to sleep.

Unfortunately, having been lurking and waiting for such an opportunity, what actually happened was that 6 kilos of Jimmy landed on me.

After being informed about the rain and what an outrage it was, I was then 'reminded' that his food bowl was empty and his litter tray full.

Came downstairs this morning and found Jimmy's favourite stripey ball in the hall so I picked it up and put it back in his toy box.

Came out of the shower and found Jimmy's favourite stripey ball in the kitchen so I picked it up and put it back in his toy box.

Came downstairs after getting dressed and found Jimmy's favourite stripey ball in the front room so I picked it up and put it back in his toy box.

I'm detecting a pattern here.

My 2 have just returned from a 2 week stay at our lovely local cattery whilst we've enjoyed 2 weeks in Wales
Please enjoy this pic of Loki giving me all the cuddles 😻. His sister is spreadeagled across a radiator behind us.

Peach went to the vets yesterday and has NOT been happy with us ever since.

She has thick claws on her middle two front toes and won't let us get close enough to clip them. We can do a quick snip of the others but these are tough ones so she has to get her pedicure at the vets so they don't press into her paw pads. The vet didn't offer her a treat afterwards AND two puppies had the audacity of trying to sniff her. Probably the worst day of her life.
She’s furiously typing out a letter of complaint, you can expect to hear from her solicitor 🤣

I can’t remember if it was a claw clip, a health check or a ‘proper’ vet appointment we took our old lass to. We were told when we adopted her that she hates the vet. To be honest, she mostly just sits like a dead weight and refuses to move or be examined. With a face like pure thunder. Anyhoo, she had sulked through her appointment so the vet got a couple of Dreamies out of the jar and she was so affronted she ignored them. So the vet picked one up and popped it on her front paw. Wow, if looks could kill, my cat would be serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the AUDACITY of the vet to play down how awful the visit had been for the cat 🤣🤣🤣
