We're having a slightly colder than normal winter as you can see by Susan's fur. She looks like an unmade bed.

This is what should be in the dictionary under the definition of catOur girl spent all night crying at the top of the stairs because OH didn't come home (he was working away) and was all out of sorts that he wasn't home, but now he's home she's massively given him the cold shoulder

Indulge me one more Boss story:
I had to tend to a sick cow in a gully. It was a dark late winter night. The two border collie dogs (pets, not working dogs as you'll glean) ran around like idiots until it was a bit cold and dark and wet for them, so I proceeded alone. Then I heard a rustle running leaping etc and it was my cat! She bounded by my side and sat on the cow's flank as I injected penicillin, then sat with me purring and chatting until the cow arose, then we returned to house and the bloody dogs were all, hey want to play? And she walked up to one and smacked him hehe

He's been adopted! Pending the home check he'll be in his new forever home come the weekend. What a wonderful start to the new year.

I want to get both cats a lion cut for summer but Melbourne weather is so unpredictable, I'm not even sure what kind of summer we'll have yet.
It could be anything from rainy to scorching hot and everything in between!

This is so silly but I’ve been so scared to share her as she’s half Scottish fold! I know they’re the pug of the cat world but she is definitely a cross breed and we take her for regular health checks to make sure she’s okay and we make sure to check every little quirk she may have. She’s also adopted not bought so please don’t think we are monsters! This was the photo on her pets4homes listing that made us fall in love with her
I've always had rescue cats but 13 years ago my husband surprised me with a Maine Coon and we ended up with 3 (now two.)
I would never shame anyone for getting a pedigree, it's a personal choice. Actually, those Munchkin cats are something I don't agree with, when my godson turned 18 I told him he could have whatever he wanted (within reason) and he asked for a Munchkin. I did some research and told him nope, no way. We ended up sending him overseas instead as I couldn't bear to buy him a mutant cat with built in problems.

The vet failed to tell us that switching our cat over to hypoallergenic food should be done really slowly. We launched straight in with new wet and dry food and she was sick three times in two days and we feel really guilty about it. We can message the vets so a vet nurse gave us proper advice and now we’re mixing the two and trying to take it slowly. It’s a bloody minefield though. She might be allergic to chicken, or she might just be having a flare because we threw new food at her. We were told about some recommended brands but even tracking down and differentiating between ‘sensitive’ and ‘suitable for IBD’ cats is intense all by itself! She’s now being sick less but still being sick and she is losing a bit of weight. The vet said switching her diet was probably better for her in the long run than a life of steroids but I’m worried we’re making her ill right now

Hello! I know @MaineCoonMama and @emm from other threads. I've often joked over on Food and Drink (which is about 1% food, 2% drink, 60% cats the rest life) that my cat doesn't receive nearly enough attention so I took this photo of my little mate, who is made, I think, of leftover parts of other cats plus some carpet and was quite feral when I adopted him. His name is Dill, after the friend in To Kill a Mockingbird, who was a great friend but often slightly off stage

My darling old man Beau died a couple of years ago, and my wife persuaded me to get a pair of kittens, as our other cat was bereft. He was not pleased initially, but they became great mates and all curl up in heaps together. Here's my lovely Beau. And Threepwood cuddles a Junior Cat.

I'm so glad you have her now. When I was able to work I donated monthly to trap-and-spay program to help control feral cats. I wish I could still donate as it's something I care deeply about.
Unlike my old dad (my stepdad) who puts out Hills Science Diet biscuits every day for the feral cats. He even has an old cat tower outside and seats under the verandah for them to sit on when it's raining.
