I used to cat sit and was sacked from one job as the cat pined for me when they returned home and I left . He hadn’t cared they had left him for a week just snuggled with me all the time. - so it was clear I had corrupted him as he preferred me to them!
What did you do for the cat to be like this 😅😅😅 this is a nightmare situation but I have one cat who's basically velcro with me and scared of everyone and another who's unfriendly and hates most people so hopefully it never transpires 😅

When In was younger, we had 2 cats & my father had a big fish tank in the sitting room. One day he was cleaning the fish tank. I'm not totally sure how, but our big (he was choncky) orange cat (sisters cat) fell into the fish tank!!!!! He was ok, although he did get everywhere soaking wet, as was he of course 😹 I think the fish were ok.

Another time, my cat, a calico, was looking into the pond in our garden which had fish in it. Both loved to do that & they just watched, no fish harmed. But somehow she just slipped and fell into the pond! Again she was fine & got out herself, just soaking wet and embarrassed. It was funny timing bc both me and my sister were watching her from the kitchen when it happened 😹 I wonder if that happened more while we weren't looking.
Did they do that thing of quickly stopping to wash themselves they apparently do when embarrassed? 😅

I saw a few recipes online so my idea is to buy cooked salmon and chicken, layer that with some cat treats and use one of those lick treats as a topping. I will show results but I have a feeling she will turn her nose up! She's been turning her nose up at the treats in her advent calender. The wee shite.
I'm going to use this experiment to see if I should try in the future 😅

Big (not so fat) ginger cat update:

His appetite is still down, but he's managing about 1 1/2 - 2 wet food pouches over the day. It's not what he used to be like, but I have noticed over the past year he's began to leave more and more in his bowl.

I'm still having to coax him into eating a bit - although he did slap me awake at 5:30 this morning for a couple of mouthfuls. I'm still worrying my socks off, but trying to calm myself that this isn't a crisis.

I'm off on holiday for 10 days now but the pet sitter knows him very well and stays in my home, so fingers crossed he'll perk back up when he sees her!

BTW - if anyone has any tips for encouraging a cat's appetite (especially a spoiled one, who gets all the wet food in the world anyway) - or tips to help cat weight gain - I'd be grateful.
Awwww Whisper can be a fusspot, she’s liking Sheba in terrine salmon flavour.❤its like a pate

Jimmy is the same.

The roof on my kitchen/bathroom extension is zinc, so any heavy rain makes a bit of a racket.

There's been times when he refuses to set foot in it despite his food bowl and litter tray being there.

Mind, it's freezing cold now so I turned on the electric blanket underneath him last night - as you do.
Aw, Jimmy deserves the best. My old Pooh Bear hated the sound of rain, he'd hide in the cupboard.
Thor's brace though, he 'helps' my husband by following the vacuum cleaner around.
