Loki has decided under the chair in the conservatory is the best place to nap out of direct sunlight. The paw is on display to alert us to his presence 😁.

Jimmy's full name is James Cloudwalker after his little fluffy cloud front paws.

Here he is easing himself into the weekend as only a cat can.

Lovely WoohCat has been to the vet and is absolutely fine: admittedly a bit sensitive when his spine was manipulated gently; and his pot belly is exactly that: a pot belly!

What I asked vet to do today is full blood test as he enters his "senior" years past 7yo, to provide a health profile/baseline, and took a mature moment FTR that in the future if he has a mystery illness precipitating a rapid decline, I won't spend two thousand dollars on diagnostics (as I did with beloved treasured WoohCat1, and then she had to be euthanased) because I won't in the future pursue oncology or surgery, but will support him medically for comfort and trust my stewardship for end of life care. Loving and practical, I think (and also not relevant for hopefully a very long time.)

I *knew* WoohCat1 was dying at the time but I was pretty desperate and the lymphoma was untreatable anyway, and I knew it in my heart and, honestly, I should have just taken two days off work to be with her and love her, then let her go

My cat is poorly again 😔 Since Friday she’s lost her appetite, takes a couple of mouthfuls of food when before she’d practically lick the bowl clean. Then this morning she did a small very dark poo in her littler tray. Google is diagnosing the worst.

The insurance has a clause where you have to have an online consult before getting an appointment so I’ve spoken to a vet on web chat and they’ve said give her some bland food, see how she gets on and if no better take her to vet tomorrow. I just opened a can of tuna and when she smelled it she got very vocal demanding the food lol but still only took a few mouthfuls. She has eaten some dreamies this morning too. She seems sleepy but when we get her favourite toy out she has played.

We’ve also found a lump on her cheek and my husband thinks maybe it’s from a fight because she keeps getting into a fight with another neighbours cat 🙄 so really hoping maybe it’s just that putting her off eating and nothing more sinister.

We had dogs before and I swear they weren’t this stressful 😫
Took her to the vets today. An abscess on her face from fighting and a damaged tongue. She’s got a lovely week long prescription of antibiotics. It’s a liquid so will put it in her food and hope she’s not fussy.

I have found my new favourite thread

I've got 3 cats of my own & a little doggo but got some reason I can't upload a pic of them, my reason for posting though is that my foster boy, who I've had since mid Nov has a visit from his potential forever home today 😻

He's the most wonderful boy, so soft, gentle, loving, handsome & sweet. If I didn't already have 3, I'd keep him in a heartbeat.

I'm sure the person will fall in love with him and hopefully he them, it's going to be really hard to say goodbye if it all goes well but I keep telling myself, I'm only part of his journey, not the ending!!

Wish him luck.

It's been nearly 15 months since I lost my beloved Pooh Bear.

I'd like another cat eventually, Thor and Susan are both 11 and quite set in their ways and it's obvious they both still miss Pooh. I don't think they'd take kindly to another cat!
We have a small house, there really isn't room for another just yet.

Speaking of older big ginger cats, here's 10 year old Loki, also gone off his food recently. He's been to the vet and a clean bill of health was given. I have a sneaking suspicion he's popping into Auntie Joan and Uncle Barry's greenhouse and scoffing their cat Bootsie's left overs which are put out for the hedgehogs... greedy little git 😸😜.
