I see the Mirror wrote a story yesterday about Bradley Walsh being looked on as “the new Philip Schofield” by ITV. Makes you wonder if there are moves afoot and ITV’s testing the waters for public reaction. I like Bradley Walsh. I don’t watch TM but I can see him being a good presenter for that type of show.

Not heard of that one, but it did remind me that my nan used to read Take A Break, which was amusing for it's batshit (and sometimes obviously fake) reader stories (that they supposedly paid £250 for).

My Nan used to read that all the time. The stories in there were immense. I remember one woman had a non-cancerous tumour removed from her stomach and it was found to have hair and teeth. That stayed with me a long time I can tell you.

Alan Rickman aged beautifully and even when much older was so sexy. His acting was faultless and
I was so upset to learn he had died from cancer while still in his ( later) prime.

i used to love the beef curry with the dried beef pieces (used to think, thats what the replicated food off star trek would taste like if it was real ) and i always fancied the "chicken chowmein with crispy noodles"never tried i,t but i bet it sounded better than it tasted

The Vesta chow mein was epic!! Those crispy noodles curling up in the frying pan was astounding to 8 year old me!!

That's guilt because you did do something wrong. I know someone in real life (not a celeb) who was seen in a cancer unit by someone locally. It was the gossip of the town and someone took it upon themselves to confirm the gossip (that they didn't start). Not cool. And neither is what you did.

My friend, and pk, have rights to medical privacy, no matter how justified you feel because you "didn't start it"

I agree. And to put my 2 pennies worth in, I agree, using the term ' Champagne Socialist about any wealthier person who cares about those less fortunate than themselves is tabloid crap. If people earn a lot of money and then pay tax without quibbling, they can do what they like, as long as they don't preach one thing and do another and expect people to listen. People who go on about Social Justice then validate people like Philip Green by cavorting on his yacht I would call ' champagne socialists'. People who are wealthy and spend their own money on things they enjoy, but still speak out about inequality and unfairness are not champagne socialists imo.

Also, Katy Perry had a baby with Orando Bloom?? When did that happen???

Tbh you can still be a grumpy old man and still be a lovely guy. You just have low tolerance for BS and put your energy into the good people and situations you care about. I'm all for that too, give me a grumpy authentic person over a nice fake one

I absolutely adored Claire Foy as the Queen. I do like Olivia Coleman, but not in that role. I think Claire Foy & Vanessa Kirby as Margaret were a fantastic choice.

It’s not so much that he hid his sexuality it was the way he suddenly decided to come out but as of yet still hasn‘t divorced his wife or found a serious male partner. Him and his wife still live like man and wife. Its weird. Why bother if your not going to change anything.

I'd say it's the alleged grooming of rather young boys / men that people have the problem with the most. Anyone who has heard the rumours that is.

Allow me. I am in the biz and it was known within the circles that he had cancer.

ETA: We were sworn to secrecy at the time as he’s incredibly private. I don’t know what type of cancer it was though, but we were told that it wasn’t looking good for him.
I’m so glad he seems well now though.
