I tried to date a 19 year old when i was 14 ... my mum grounded me. I didn't get it at the time, now i have a daughter i totally get it.
a 19 year old MAN has very different relationship expectations than a 14 year old CHILD.
I was 14 when I snogged a 19 year old on holiday and it was the 90s so nothing was thought of it. I now have a niece that age and it makes me feel sick. Different times. Things that were acceptable then just aren’t now.

Didnt realise Patsy Kensits father did time I prison and worked with the Krays
Yes he was called 'Jimmy The Dip' and was involved with the London gangster scene in the 60s. Reggie Kray was her brother's godfather ! The whole family background is quite interesting - did you see her episode of 'Who do you think you are' ?
Patsy was extremely close to her mother who died from Cancer - i've heard her talk about her mum and the massive gap it left in her life. Very moving and goes some way to explain all the failed relationships.

No I didnt see it. Sounds like a good one though. Also wiki says Elizabeth Hurley is her godmother?

Why would a parent let /encourage a much older bf for a very underage girl?
Am I missing something
If someone of 19 had turned up at the door for my sister or I when we were 13, my dad would have marked his card in no in-certain terms
A second visit he would have got a right hander

Of course, a time when hospitals are overrun and beds are extra precious -and we need a prime minister!!
A lot saying how will he run the country from hosp -eh surely he can’t ! Let him rest!
Thank you to the person that shared his illness on here in first instance. My friends now give my gossip source the credit it deserves!
Hospitals aren’t overrun at all. I was in A&E the other day and it was empty! Not just the waiting room, but the beds! I have never experienced such a quiet hospital. The staff were calm as well and didn’t seem rushed like they usually do. Also the car park for the whole hospital was nearly empty, suggesting that the other hospital departments were similarly underused.

Exactly. My Dad would have chased the guy down the street! I cannot fathom how any parent would be ok with that. Even if the boy was the same age, at 13 I would never have been allowed to have a boy stay over and my parents would never have encouraged me to be having sex.

I don’t get it at all I have daughters and the day I allow them to have older boyfriends as teenagers is the day hell freezes over. Few years away yet but the teenage years scare me to death.

The other thing I don’t get is how the parents of these sons sometimes seem ok with it? It’s like they feel powerless to stop it or even voice their disapproval, it’s really shoddy parenting all round. If I had an adult son who I found out was going out with much young girls I would hit the roof and be horrified and disgusted with him and he’d know it.

my mum was 14 and my late dad was 20 when they got together. Her parents weren’t happy but when they met him and realised how immature he was, they decided it was fine. It has been always told as a funny story but now I’m older I’m like ew dad what the heck? At the same time my dad was a lovely man and not a weirdo so like...i don’t know how to feel really.

Thanks for the reminder about the daily Popbitch mailout at the moment, signed up a week or so ago.

Simply quoting one of their anonymous stories. Though, if Paul Daniels sent this lady a mobile phone message, this would be during his marriage to Debbie McGee (they married in the late-1980s, pre-mobile phones and SMS messages)? Always thought those two were solid as a rock. Quite surprised by this one:

anon writes:
"Paul Daniels once pulled off the most audacious chat-up move on an ex-girlfriend of mine. She worked with him on a pantomime one Christmas and, at the end of a cast meal, he leaned over the table and asked if she'd like to see a bit of magic. She said yes, so Paul whipped out his deck.

"It was a fairly standard trick. She picked a card, he asked her to write something on it that he couldn't possibly guess – suggesting she use her phone number. Which she did.

"Paul made a joke about having a little shuffle, before proceeding to make the card disappear and reappear in a number of surprising ways. He then made it disappear completely – but that wasn't the end of the trick. That happened when she hopped into a cab and her phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number. "Clever, aren't I?xxx"

"That wasn't the only message she received from him that Christmas. It was, however, the only one that will get through readers' spam filters."

I agree. I am a nurse specialist, havent worked past 2 weeks as hubby had symptoms so I needed to self-isolate but back tomorrow. Anyway and quite rightly we have stopped all patients attending their out patient appt and are carrying out phone reviews instead. I'm in touch with my colleagues who say it is sooo quiet, nothing to do and even resorted to dusting and cleaning the office last week!! In our trust there are currently 20 patients across 2 hospital sites with covid. No deaths and 2 patients have been sucessfully treated and dischaged. When the tit hits the fan (which I reckon will be next week) we will be redeployed onto the wards. But yes at the moment all calm and quiet. 🙏

When I read “whipped out his deck”
I thought it was a typo.
Thank God it wasn’t.
He said some right dodgy stuff about groupies (tee hee) once
Anyone remember that?

She was seen as the young upstart impinging on the Primrose Hill set and a rival to Kate’s Queen bee crown. She was beautiful, cool, bags of style and banging Kate’s best mate’s ex (Jude). I remember the press at the time - they were relentless, she was in all the mags and every paper daily. She then had a relationship with Rhys and apparently broke his heart and he was/is close friends with that group too.
She allegedly had a thing with Cillian Murphy too, when they filmed Hippie Hippie Shake together. He lived in London at time and she convinced him to hang out with her at Groucho Club and become part of her scene, which was really not like him. She seems to have a thing about married men...like makes her feel good to know she can steal them from their wives. There were pics of them all over each other in a cab at the time. When his wife found out he cut Sienna off and agreed to move from London to Ireland to save their marriage. Apparently Sienna tried to contact him various times and he just completly stone walls her.
