On the nappies, it’s far easier and less labour-intensive for them to change a soiled nappy (and who knows how often they would have changed her) than it would be to strip and wash clothes and a bed. Assuming the children shared a room, nappies on Sara would have minimised smells too.

It wasn’t then caring - it was them doing the very minimum they could for their own convenience.

She was malnourished, she wasn’t huge to start with (from photos), and we don’t know what size the nappies were. She may have been in one that was bought for the younger siblings.

I think it said she was 27kg and 4ft5, so she was not quite underweight but she was very close to it.
The pathologist thought that food had been suddenly withdrawn, too.

Mr Jones suggested that Sharif was called home by Batool and that Sara would already be bound ready for him to beat: “That’s the truth isn’t it, Mr Sharif, the awful truth?”. Sharif denied this.

This is just awful, I can't fathom how 3 adults have let this happen and at least two have abused her. The jetwashing is disgusting, they treated her like some sort of animal, worse than an animal even. Just makes me feel so sick at the thought.

Agreed. Although they will be attacked as soon as there’s a chance, and I’m sure they will often go without food, because it’s been interfered with. So they might get a small sense of what they put poor Sara through. US won’t have a.n.other person to take his dark feelings out on anymore.

It makes me feel sick to say it but I can’t help but think what was on her body they were so desperate to remove evidence of. Using a jet wash seems like some extreme measure to try and get rid of DNA.
Someone said yesterday that they think he changed his story and admitted he beat her after spending days denying all knowledge because the questioning was getting tough and he was scared of what else would come out. But what is worse than killing a child? This along with the bite makes on her inner thigh just makes me feel like there is another even more sinister layer to the abuse they were doing to poor Sara. And I don’t believe they want to keep the children in Pakistan because they think that’s what’s best for them but more they are scared of what will come out if they were interviewed. I can’t even bring to imagine the horror that went on in that house. This case is so harrowing.

This case is utterly heartbreaking - I have been unable to read many of the details. What I have managed to read, is so distressing.
It is cases like this, that make us lose hope. How could anyone be capable of such cruelty?

Oh I didn’t mean US and co would think that was best for them, just to be clear. I meant only that I could understand why an extended family (who may well be horrified by what they’ve done, they seem to have cooperated with the Pakistani police getting them back for example) would be hesitant to believe sending the kids back to the system that so terribly failed them and Sara was the best course of action.

Especially as it doesn’t sound like there is much other family here for any of them except BB’s sister (who you would bloody hope doesn’t stand a chance of custody after being so complicit in it all) so it would almost certainly mean sending them back to the care of social services.

There have been so many of these horrific cases over the past few years. For me, this one, and the ones involving young Arthur and Logan have just floored me. I think that part of it is that they were all of an age where they could articulate the pain and suffering that they were going through. That adds another layer for me. That scene where Arthur wakes up in the front room and plaintively wails that no-one loves him is forever etched in my mind.

It's impossible to fully conceive the evilness of these people. This wasn't a one-off assault, but a sustained campaign of such ferocity and degradation, it is almost incomprehensible. The Prosecution suggests that BB and FM would message US and deliberately wind him up with tales of Sara's wrongdoing knowing that he would come back to mete out harsh punishments to her. Why would two adults harbour such hatred towards a young girl in their care?

The brutally and sadistic torture is truly unbelievable. I'm really struggling with this case, but as someone else on this thread said recently, I have the ability to turn away: poor Sara didn't, She had no respite and no-one to turn to. That poor, poor little girl.

Some of the family were arrested and held until the three finally came out of hiding…
I hope they are treating the children with love, though, and that authorities are keeping a close eye

I wondered the same. It’s a very extreme thing to do.

That could’ve happened post-mortem as does happen unfortunately (I used to work in palliative care).

I don’t understand why they just put the evidence in their bin? Did they not think the police would look everywhere on that property? It seems to confirm they were initially planning on not coming back from Pakistan if they left all the evidence. If so, why clean the house? It’s bizarre.

Exactly. As much as I feel they should suffer, I couldn’t, and can’t imagine anyone else being able to carry out such acts as they did to that poor little girl.

Depends which version of events he’s giving. The other day she done it all, he was out working and avoiding her abuse towards him. Days ago she said leave it, she dead. Now she said call an ambulance and he said no, she’s dead.
