She’s flogging Goop? what the actual duck:eek:.

... and she couldn’t have picked a more unflattering photo of Sam Chapman if she tried.

Anyone remember the Mumsnet thread in S+B when a poster (who claimed to be an insider on influencers) made very sly digs about her and her claims about being a journalist? It was on Mother’s Day and she was livid, said her day had been ruined , how dare her integrity be questioned , etc.

T’was quite amusing.

Yes I remember that thread and her subsequent loss temper. It was hilarious. It also started before mothers day, she just chose to reply on mothers day. Most likely for maximum sympathy.
She is a sharp cookie though as this week's guardian column is flogging standard body creams after the drunk elephant fall out.
Goop for Instagram. Neutrogena for the guardian. Neat.

It's quite obvious she has been hit in the face with the Botox stick because her forehead is peculiarly taught and shiny. And she has that weird Kylie Minogue skeptical cat-brow thing going on.

Yet another Beauty Pie endorsement from SH.
To date she has plugged BP in the guardian, Instagram, her website and fashion magazine. Would she do this for free?
While her bff ( botoxed female friend) India Knight also plugs it ( the Times.) Not a #spon #gift #ad in sight.
Beauty Pie is a subscription fee site. £10 minimum of 3 months to buy designer makeup/ perfume et al cheaper.
Never mind that the added extras make it nearer £15 or that products are very limited and sell out pdq. Or even that your have to sub for at least 3 months. Minor details.
Just keep plugging for more free stuff Sal

Sali is part of the trendy twitterati crowd, her and her mates choose to have full blown convos on their open twitter accounts rather than say text or message each other privately like most folks.

India knight lives in her middle class bubble surrounded by people as fake woke as her, Sali, Caitlin, Lauren laverne et al.

I’m not surprised Sali is endorsing dubious tit, just don’t publicly call her out on it because she gets terribly annoyed at being seen as anything other than a serious journalist, choosing which of her friends brands to promote is hard work . [emoji849]

Great comment and you're spot on regards her girl gang of designer wearing botoxed champagne socialists.
I've seen her Twitter spats. Basically Sali can't debate and immediately goes straight into attack mode if anyone has the audacity to not agree with her. She has a chip on her shoulder because she never went to university ( where most learn to debate ) so can only respond with insults.
Yes! Sali desperately wants to be a serious journalist but can't seem to get past being a makeup artist. The pool is a perfect platform for her. 95% about how to look beautiful ( adverts in disguise ) 5% snippets of news that incur the feminazis wrath.
And omg if she finds this site she will self combust.

@Gulster champagne socialists and peak white feminism.

I love it when Sali reminds commentators that yes you can write 1000 words on the merits of a red lipstick and care about world affairs and serious journalist tit. All of them and Sali is no different take themselves so, so seriously.

I’m reminded of the mumsnet thread about India Knight, when Sali popped up and started defending her friend, signing off as “Sali x” she got torn to shreds for that and promptly disappeared.

Her advice and expertise is null and void because she uses fillers and Botox and other non invasive expensive treatments that of course can’t be compared to a £5 cream you chuck into your shopping basket with the weekly shop.

If you can pop down to see your skin specialist who has a 2year waiting list and sells little pots of cream retailing for hundreds of pounds because you’ve had a reaction to something, then I’m going to take a lorry load of salt with your take on what works and can bought at Superdrug or Boots.

It reminds me of the mascara ads with lash inserts or post production tweaking.

I'm struggling to think of a respected, serious journalist who isn't university educated?

She preaches the value of female friendship and being kind but her ‘girl gang’ is extremely ‘can’t sit with us’. On her Facebook page she took one of the younger members under her wing, moving her to Brighton, giving her an in road into the make-up industry and basically turning her into her own personal lackey, make-up artist and babysitter. When another young Facebook member asked her advice on how to become a makeup artist Sali told her she needed to work it out for herself and took it as a personal affront that she was being asked to give her a leg-up (she wasn’t).

I started to watch a film last night with someone called Abbie Cornish playing the part of Kate Aide. AC has a huge frozen forehead and wears designer clothes heels etc. KA was the complete opposite. I gave up. Cornish (who ever she is) has a forehad like SH, it's grotesque. SH is past her sell date to break into serious journalism far yoo many years spent flogging make up. People like KA would laugh themselves stupid at the thought.
Didn' t see the IK mumsnet post. Too funny.
I never knew where SH assistant came from.
Hate the sun, check.

Her pool article today is a tad ironic. The book she’s slating sounds truely awful, but Sali I’mtotallycoolwithgrowingoldreallyhonsstlyiam Hughes slagging off a book for telling people how to be more youthful is hilarious.

@Addabaddaboo she had a long angry vent on instagram too about that book. Totally agree publically slating that book while having a face of fillers is more that a little hypocritical. If anyone had written in a similar vein about her incredibly lazy pretty iconic book, she'd have had a massive hissy fit and lawyered up.

I am a bit embarrassed about yesterdays comment as had a liquid lunch and I rarely drink. The subject got around to fake instagrammers, which everyone was totally fed up with. Also I didn't like being mean about SH's patsy.

Influencers all seem to struggle with how others see them, compared to their own self aggrandizement.
I mean a *supposed* leftie with all the trappings of a raving ostentatious capitalist, which is compounded by incessant selfies, heavily hash tagged for freebies, claiming to be #prettyhonest WTF! How on earth can anyone believe a word they print?

Yet she started out so well. Her ITB series now doesn't even get a single comment. Warning signs. 2 videos of silly lily for anyone above the age of 10 is a clear sign she is struggling for content. Bff Caitlin had to step in for round two ayetvthat also flopped.

Hoepfully more and more people are wising up to the fake and greedy lifestyle.

Shes looks frozen and expressionless in the recent Instagram post - #noretouch and #nofilter for sure, just plenty of #retin-a and #filler

As Sali's preference is to #prettyhonest its about time she #botox. As it is definately dishonest to continually take selfies #nofilter etc
while omitting #botox.
A 40 plus aged woman to still be obsessed with selfies, is quite sad. People take selfies to say look at me, arent I gorgeous, acknowledge me, like me, validate me. It's more suited to fragile teenagers. Not middle aged mums.
Fair enough if you're flogging new make up but otherwise no, just stop.
To my knowledge she has only mentioned using retin a once during the Caroline Hirons ITB video. As retin a is the only scientifically proven anti aging cream you'd expect a #prettyhonest beauty blogger to acknowledge this as frequently as she hastags her hairdresser.
Guardian readers got treated to her selling glitter this week. What are we 10! Time for a new beauty columnist.

She says on her post that she uses "meso" and IPL. I have no idea what these things are...Obviously not run of the mill creams. She also said she has extensions in her hair. I dunno, I find hair extensions also a bit out of kilter with pretty honest hashtags. Maybe its just me.

IPL is for hair removal.
Mesotherapy is a treatment whereby stuff is injected into the skin to tighten, rejuvenate and remove excess fat. Stuff being vitamins and plant extracts amongst other things.
She won't admit to botox, even when asked directly.
Really strange to go to all this trouble when singing from the proud to be my age sheet. Maybe she has changed her tune to cope with younger upcoming competition.

I follow Esther Coren on Insta, there’s been a shitstorm about something she wrote for/about Space NK , she mentioned on her stories “I’m not commenting on what Sali Hughes said”?, anyone able to enlighten me if they’re in the know.

I’m just in from work and haven’t trawled through it online yet, yes I’m a lazy arse asking you instead of finding out myself ?
