i find her videos excruciating, they aren’t comfortable, relaxing, something to watch over a cuppa. I watched part of the Chanel one today as it’s a product I do quite like. Her gaspy, brittle delivery is just painful and her application of the product was so grim I didn’t stick around for the second cheek.
Totally agree. But sadly, I thought she also came across as really anxious and shaky, sort of on the verge of extreme anger?! It’s like she’s just primed for an argument all the time. Which is exactly how she comes across when she responds to comments.

Urrrrrgh. Allen Ginsberg staunchly and vocally advocated for his right to fuck young boys. But God forbid that should get in the way of your Bella Freud bum licking, Sal 🙄.

That is a LOT of money for some pretty low ticket items. I've been wearing the IT CC cream for years (ha) and it's always on offer on QVC. But sure, people would rather get a "carefully curated" box from the queen of snip.
Association with NAMBLA[edit]
Ginsberg was a supporter and member of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), a pedophilia and pederasty advocacy organization in the United States that works to abolish age of consent laws and legalize sexual relations between adults and children.[99] Claiming to have joined the organization "in defense of free speech",[100] Ginsberg said: "Attacks on NAMBLA stink of politics, witchhunting for profit, humorlessness, vanity, anger and ignorance ... I'm a member of NAMBLA because I love boys too—everybody does, who has a little humanity".[101] In 1994, Ginsberg appeared in a documentary on NAMBLA called Chicken Hawk: Men Who Love Boys (playing on the gay male slang term "Chickenhawk"), in which he read a "graphic ode to youth".[99]

In her 2001 book, Heartbreak, Andrea Dworkin described her sense of Ginsberg's position:

On the day of the bar mitzvah in 1982, newspapers reported in huge headlines that the Supreme Court had ruled child pornography illegal. I was thrilled. I knew Allen would not be. I did think he was a civil libertarian. But, in fact, he was a pedophile. He did not belong to the North American Man/Boy Love Association out of some mad, abstract conviction that its voice had to be heard. He meant it. I take this from what Allen said directly to me, not from some inference I made. He was exceptionally aggressive about his right to fuck children and his constant pursuit of underage boys.[102]

Eeuuww I wasn't aware of the Ginsberg stuff  . Apparently he was a founding member of that NAMBLA group. He said 'to call paedophilia criminal is ridiculous'. A two minute Google reveals this.
Bella Freud should be bloody ashamed calling that disgusting pervert a 'god'.

For anyone on GTL, what's the feedback? Are the Salinistas clapping like seals?
You would imagine they are as distinctly underwhelmed as everyone else.

Sali just did an igtv foundation review twice saying that the coverage was "eggshell"

Wtf is an eggshell finish?

Smooth? Speckled? Cracked? Swatched by Farrow & Ball?

There are some great thread title suggestions here but can I put in a plea for it not to be a rhyming one, please? They do my head in, sorry, boil my piss, give me a nervo, etc 😀.

Although obviously this one is great 👀.

She’s been working hard on the comments regarding the box , must be hard for her to not want to snip with her usual brusque tone at the few critical comments.

The forum was pretty much dead after the troll episode a couple of years ago. Many regular posters moved elsewhere (I guess Facebook, Whatsapp, whatever). Alkistis knew loads about sunscreen and was in the SPF 50 every day even indoors camp, whereas Sali was more lenient. I found her a bit intimidating tbh.

@Aude totally agree with you, she doesn’t but my point is (to be fully transparent and tell the whole story) she absolutely should declare the anti-ageing interventions. As a viewer/ consumer all you see is this ageless face and all these products being mentioned, endorsed and recommended. (I won’t even go to the complete flouting of ASA rules on this as that’s another can of worms). I don’t think we separate structure vs. surface - you see the whole face, the whole result. Therefore you make the link between that look/ face/ageless skin and THIS new product. And then this product and then this product. Holy Grail it is!

Ageing is now optional for those who have the money to spend or the free treatments and products given to them because they have a platform of persuasion and influence. There will be (there are ) women who don’t visibly age and those who do. It’s going to get more extreme in the future and more apparent.
I'll just leave this here...
I guess this makes me a jealous, broken troll, but I find this really misleading.

Omg do you think the whole mention of S and TC was simply to shoehorn in a Grensons mention? The S and TC recommendation did seem odd.
I'm wondering what other programmes an advert can be inserted into subtly - 'Dynasty - we can all marvel at the amazing bouffant hair - thank goodness things have changed since the arrival of stylists like Hersheson'.
After a shitty day, this comment has made me smile so much! I can't believe she'd shoehorn something as culturally passe as SATC. The hyper consumerism and being obsessed with men is not "evergreen". It makes me cringe

Just thinking again about the Ginsberg stuff. All the info about NAMBLA is on his Wikipedia page. And documented here since last year too.

Really is no excuse to claim ignorance on this as the curator of the box.

Imagine just overlooking something like that to sell a box. Truly shameful.

100% agree her face is effectively used as an endorsement of the products - if she was endorsing anything else she would be free to do absolutely as she pleased and not mention Botox/ fillers etc but selling skincare means there should be complete transparency. Saying it once or twice is not enough and certainly saying her good skin is down to ‘Concealer’ is not correct or fair. I genuinely don’t know how she could argue otherwise or not understand why people call her out on it. Unless she thinks We should all just buy the bloody concealer and shut up already!
This is the most frustrating part. Because we call her out on it, we are "trolls", "broken people", "mentals", "skidmarks". Good grief

Now that's interesting that BBB's response is just 'thanks for flagging but I'll leave it up'. Very interesting. Why would you not just take it down - after all, not only does it show you as unable to read joined up handwriting but you're endorsing a paedophile?

Perhaps unless you yourself have been paid to make the post...? Then you'd probably just think, ah well, I've banked the cheque, I won't take the post down for now as it hasn't caused a kerfuffle, and I'll quietly delete it in time...

Influencers don't breathe online unless someone is paying them to do so. There's nothing special about a box of products that have already been out for donkey's years. They've probably tried all the products already. Any press on the socials SH is getting is because someone paid them to say it.

Wonder if she still goes fo the forum. I remember she used to only pop on for book launches and that kind of thing
in other words, things that were going to make her money. If you actually scratch the surface with Sali, it’s always been about the money. Don’t get me wrong, I get everyone has to make a living, but there seems to have been little to zero actual care, honesty, integrity throughout. If she is this dishonest and whiney with the current ASA guidelines it implies she was just galloping along regardless with the shill previously.

For someone who aspires to effortless cool, she always seems to be trying so hard. Which would be excusable in your early 20s but is terribly sad at 45 (we're the same age).
i find her the polar opposite of cool, always side eyeing to see what others are doing and just jumping on whatever bandwagon the bluetickers with actual careers are on.

What a silly cow. Even if she'd said "If our chats got it we'd be ruined and divorced" it wouldn't be so bad as it would look like a joke but the very pointed "you'd be ruined" is so strange

She’s really shown herself up here as a desperate fan girl, who puts her perception of cool beyond everything else, even the celebration of a paedophile.
