I don’t think there’s any problem with her doing “childish” things. I mean, what about the millions of adults who play video games for hours every day? They are literally “playing” too.

By all accounts, she’s doing more than most people at 20 - she’s bought a house, has her own company, a successful channel and is academically bright.

In a world of influencers who are her age and want to appear grown up, it’s nice to see her being herself. Even if it’s a bit cringey sometimes, I do find her endearing.

If I remember correctly, her solo exercises take about 10-20 minutes tops - unless I misunderstood the video. I don't think it adds up to a dangerous amount of exercise, to me it seemed like she's dividing it up. I think the longest one is the family bike ride which doesn't seem very high impact to me. And she follows rules to a t, for better or worse so I don't know if she would do something that would risk her ankle further. I know I've been less careful with injury recoveries than she was, but hey. My take on it only.

Ahhhh sorry for posting so much, I just watched the video and the outfit ideas...They were all kinda ugly or ill fitting - there's intentionally oversized and then there's just too big. Also those shorts

Yes it's like my friend who was studying medicine. She was at the library doing 14 hour days to study for her exams in first but she actually ended up failing them. Probably because she got burnt out. Meanwhile my friend who is hard working just not insanely so got straight As in the exams and he was baffled as she did more studying. It's probably because he went in there with a better mindset.

I agree Ruby would be a bit much in seminars. I bet some people just read the text, underline some quotes and jot down a few ideas then come up with more on the spot as they discuss the book. Ruby is too rigid, I imagine she has set notes prepared.

I was definitely the one in seminars who read the book then winged it rather than writing lots of notes of what I might say. It depends on the lecturer I guess. Mine tended to like spontaneous discussion.

My biggest issue with Ruby’s latest video is this. I think she has the ugliest nails anyway but I can’t stand it when people film their hands and they have chipped nail polish.

Her skin looks so dry! If I saw that photo without knowing the context, I would think it was from a much older person

I think that she’s asexual.

but her sexuality is clearly quite repressed so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s because she’s actually bi/gay. Speaking here as a bi girl who had no relationship for years because she was afraid of her sexuality, before anyone comes at me.

If she wants to keep it private then that's fine I think. I remember in a video with Jade they were talking about their 'love language' and that made me think maybe she's not asexual but just hasn't been in a relationship yet.

I'm actually quite curious to know how well she's doing with money. She's been making videos for a long time and she gets pretty constant views + sponsors here and there. I wonder if her sister gets a bit jealous of that... I always wonder how the relationship is between them, they are polar opposites.

She does? Is the gopro footage in every vlog? Not trying to discredit you, just curious cuz I genuinely can't tell the difference.
She has more than enough money for a canon g7x (which seems to be most youtubers' vlog camera of choice). It seems really strange that she'd opt for a go pro instead. It's not like she's going skiing or bungee jumping.

I don't think it's every shot, no. Most of the vlogs are with her regular camera but especially when she's filming herself I believe she sometimes switches to that and it throws me off. I doubt it's a feature of the regular camera and I remember her mentioning her gopro so that's what I assumed with which she was alternating.

She said in her (last?) video she uses her parents’ subscription to the Telegraph which is basically the same thing.

I hope she explains her thoughts behind moving back in a vid, it could help some other students too.

All the close-ups of her hands in her dark academia vid are downright frightening. Girl needs some moisturiser! It even looked like she had an open scab at one point. Are her hands that dry because of all her obsessive hand washing?

Could be. Mine are a sight of horror nowadays because of washing/disinfecting and general weather. I am however prone to eczema; I wonder if Ruby has a similar issue.

True, but I live in a similar type of area to Ruby (rural), and it was pretty much essential to learn to drive at 17 if you wanted to go anywhere spontaneously, as public transport in these types of areas is typically every 2 ish hours. Unless she has very understanding parents who are willing to drop everything to take her places, or she only ever goes to places (which require a car) with her parents...

Im 19 haven’t learnt to drive yet because I don’t need a car/can’t afford it. But ruby has enough money to do so and it would be better for her when she travels home often. It doesn’t make much sense because most people who can afford it would have learnt to drive by Ruby’s age.

When I did mine it just meant we had a bit more of a choice, as modules were 10 or 20, which helped if one of them was boring or horrible to study so you didn’t feel like too much of your grade was resting on them. I took a 10 credit Chaucer module and regretted it and did badly in it, but it was only worth 10 credits so overall I came out okay. I suppose the flip side is on a 30 credit module you get to study more on that topic than perhaps you would have for a 10 credit module, so this has been an interesting discovery to see that it can be done differently. So, no shade on Exeter, I was just surprised! .

Heya, I never usually write on here but I'm currently studying English at Exeter so can provide a bit of insight! We do 2 modules per term, and each module is pretty big (30 credits) so she's doing the normal amount! However, she 100% overworks herself - it's really not necessary to do the amount of reading and note-taking that she does. People typically just read the set texts for the week (plus some secondary reading) and come to seminars prepared for a discussion rather than making extensive amounts of notes before then! Most people have more than enough time to do well in their degree, plus join societies and have a busy social life, so no need for her 15hr study days haha. Also, some of my friends have been in seminars with her and apparently she's quite nice (if a little precocious) but mostly keeps to herself and seems more keen to chat with the professor than socialise with her peers. People who lived in her first year halls have also said that she constantly made noise complaints, which honestly doesn't surprise me! I think she's a nice person but she's VERY sheltered, and her videos are absolutely not an accurate depiction of what uni life is like. It's kind of become a meme among Exeter students that the uni sponsors her

Seeing as it was teir 3 it was against the rules too travel in and out Sheffield I understand they’re students but the rules apply to everyone. It’s really frustrating too see influencers broad cast blatant rule breaking!

When I went to uni I'd move back the weekend before term started, so early - mid sept even though my rent started in August and I was paying for it. My housemates also moved in around sept time too




I always like to think when she say's something like 'i spent the last hour and a half having lunch but I didn't film it' it's actually her having a nap

yeah, i do think that we have to take some videos as aspirational. We don't know what she does when she isn't filming. But also, I don't see a problem in that because she is, in essence, a form of entertainment and entertainment is about intriguing/aspirational/interesting stories and sometimes exaggeration.
