Ahh no way! I’m doing American Studies (well taking a year out because I can’t go abroad this year) what did you study? I’ve no idea why Ruby is doing 2 30 credit modules,I couldn’t cope only doing 2!

Politics and sociology! Ah that sucks! That makes sense about the modules! Maybe it’s a first year thing? I don’t understand why they run their degree like they do

For the last 2 days in her academic planner, Ruby had ‘call Blakeney’ (sorry, spelling!) so hopefully that means they’re still on good terms!

She sent her a letter in a vlog not long ago! Blakeny had written to her!

I just think she’s so privileged to be able to go home and leave her student house after a few weeks. All I want is to go see my family but I can’t because they are in tier 3 (so there’s a genuine concern about my family getting covid) I kind of think it’s weird that she runs back home when it’s not even that bad of a situation in Exeter. This may be harsh but ruby does have that option, she’s in a better place than a lot of students right now. And when students moved back to uni they know the risk, I had to isolate after a week of being back. I think it’s kind of irresponsible for ruby to move back to uni and back out after a few weeks, she could have stuck it out till Christmas and then done online uni after that.

Her sister is insufferable man, I used to think she was ok until I saw the video she posted where her and her mates are talking about how they want to take rubys virginity I just found it so disrespectful. Tried to give her another go with her latest covid video but I ended up skipping through it bc I actually just found it cringe, honestly people say ruby is immature but shes actually very mature compared to her sister.

Does she still bring up Harry Potter in general or Hermione a lot? Maybe she wants to make it seem like she's moved on from it but hasn't. It would make sense in a way, if she really idolized the character so much. Was she actually a big HP fan or really just Hermione? She never seems to give herself time to really enjoy movies and series unless it's watching something with her mom.

Yeh it was a cottage. She didn’t give much information but she did a video on it last year I think (she stayed there overnight). IIRC she was planning to rent it out and then move into it eventually (post uni I guess).

Did she get rid of/private that video? I can't find it anywhere anymore... thought I had imagined it for a while.

Yeah I remember for a while she seemed to use Depop quite a bit (though I think she prices things quite highly on her own Depop store). Now she seems to justify it by saying she's had x item since she was ten or something.

She’s probably making loads of money being paid by the nhs/gov telling us to wash our hands

Wish I could find cute clothes like miss patina that are affordable!

Will Ruby address that she’s come home in a vid? WHY and what about her housemate?! Did she say she’d go back in January ？

Sorry but how do you think that covid is passed on?? obviously it is air borne but if it was just transmitted in the air then people wouldn’t be bothered all the time about washing hands and surfaces.

We wash our hands frequently because touching our mouth/eyes/nose can lead to infection.
The behaviour of the masses does not equal scientific fact.
There have been numerous studies

I liked her dark acadAYmia video but I would prefer she showed less of her head.
Also -imo- it was very out of touch with the ‘pace’ of the aesthetic.

In a recent vlog, she said she’d been talking to a literary agent and it seems she’s working on a book from her stories. What’s the betting she’ll end up getting her book published because she’s a YouTuber? It would be laughable if that happened, especially as her self published book showed a poor standard of writing.

I’m just on my phone so not able to look properly, but I could’ve sworn it was at the end of her “University Move In Vlog”
She got a bit of criticism for it so maybe she removed that section (I think that’s possible to do on YT). Please correct me if I’m wrong!

Basically she showed herself getting ready for an early night, and then at the end of the video snapped to a clip of her looking angrily at the noise of her flat mates talking and laughing (it wasn’t too loud, and dare I say if she’d politely asked they would’ve kept the noise down) saying “will you listen to THAT”

Publishing a book (and not self-publishing) is a long old road. A friend of mine has had a literary agent for over 2 years but is yet to find a publisher for her YA novel. She has been shortlisted in literary competitions too, so it shows that success in some areas doesn't guarantee it overall.

I did a lot of stupid things as a teenager in uni but this was next level disturbing...

I‘m 22 and never went to uni, but from seeing people I went to school with posting about their uni experience on social media, I thought that was just typical British uni culture?

Nah that makes no sense, loans suck the interest on them is appalling. 9k is a massive step down from what they paid for her school each year, if they can afford it now then I reckon they pay it, coz getting a loan is a massive waste of money in the long run

It makes next to no sense to pay the 9k though when the chances of anyone paying that back (or anything close to it) is next to 0. My cousins went/go to private school and still get tuition loans and so do most of their friends because of that.

Wait thats crazy?! I went to a private school but it was 1/3 of the price, I don't know the average price of private schools as I try my best not to associate with the awful time I had there but that seems hella expensive to send 2 children to.

Oversized pieces can work, but only if they are paired with true sized pieces too. I also don't know if this bugs anyone else, but the way she puts her hands on her waist (with her wrists facing outwards and palms on her back) really riles me.

Is it really a dialectal thing though? She has tried desperately hard to eliminate the accent her sister and parents use, and yet decides to keep the regional pronunciation of some words? Doesn't really add up to me. Especially given that she also pronounces other words wrong which don't have a regional variant (such as the author Daphne De Maurier's surname).

Can someone please explain to me about the accents, what is her accent and what are the accents of her family? Like whats the difference between them, I can tell they’re different but what are their accents actually called? And where abouts are they from in the UK?
