That's not normal best friend behaviour, especially for an adult. If Ruby does have feelings for Blakeney I doubt she would be mature enough to accept and process them in a normal way.

Such a boring video, surely she must be lonely creeping round libraries by herself or wasting away in her room. What a waste of a brilliant opportunity to study at a prestigious university. It could have been the making of her but instead she has skulked around trying to avoid any socialisation and cosplay that she’s 12yrs old.

The photo thing... it makes me shiver because I had a friend who did the exact same thing. It made me super uncomfortable and the behaviour was exactly the reason I ended up completely cutting her off. I hope there's more to it behind the scenes they do not want to share (and completely understandable) but as it stands, this is very stalkerish, I agree!! Scary!!

Aside from that, the video was absolutely a waste of time, she could've just uploaded a skillshare ad and it wouldn't have been much different, it was pretty much a third of the whole video. It's also ironic that she liked a comment under the video saying how they understand she doesn't want to leave Oxford, hilarious considering she can't make enough excuses to go back home

Like, I could maybe understand having a photo of your best friend as your screensavor, especially if they're the type of Broad city best friends who are attached at the hip and really are each others main attachement figure (which Ruby and Blakney are not). I'd still think it was a bit weird, but I probably wouldn't think twice about it. But a stalker album full of photos? Creepy.

I don't know why she has to specify that it is a slideshow of photos of Blakney. It just comes off as creepy and obsessive for someone who is 'best friend.' I think that it is something that you would not admit to doing and would say it was a slideshow of photos on your phone and it was just one of Blakney which happened to be on the screen, and not just a slideshow of Blakney that she happens to have. I don't have a slideshow of my wife on my phone screensaver, perhaps I need to have that now.

I don't think that Blakney would have a similar set up on her phone. I don't even think that it is a romantic thing that Ruby is doing. I could be wrong with Ruby and Blakney and for we know they are a couple. But I get the impression that it is Ruby being super intense with her friendship with Blakney. I almost get the vibe that Ruby is trying to reinforce the friendship by doing things like have screensavers of her as that must mean they are best friends.

I highly doubt they are a couple, because even if they never publically came out the closet, you'd expect that if they were in a relationship we would at least see more of her on the peripheral of Ruby's videos. For example, I come from a super Catholic family and one of my older cousins is a les. Her 'best friend' comes to every Christmas, wedding, family brunch, and every event in between. Blakney doesn't seem to be involved in Ruby's life on a day-to-day basis, typically only showing up for the once in a lifetime experiences (Holidays, festivals, media events) or events that also include their broader social group (Ruby's birthday party, reunion in Exeter). You'd think if they were in a 3 year+ relationship in their mid-20's that she would be coming over for things like Christmas/new years, popping in on random weekends, and joining Ruby and Claire on their very many, very underwhelming girl trips. Blakeny just randomly being there sometimes, Viva La Marfa. But she doesn't.

We've had more spontaneous Jade cameos this past year than we have Blakeny.

Anytime she tries to make something sound normal and casual, it gets more bizarre She doesn't know when to shut up. If she just said she has a pic of Blakeney as her screensaver at the moment, it would still be a bit odd but adding to that an album full of photos to shuffle... Oof.
