Why’s she going to Exeter? 🫤 bit of a trek during a intensive masters degree

I think it's the resurgence of early 2000s culture in general! I work with teenagers and they're all watching Bring It On, 10 Things I Hate About You, etc and wearing millennial outfits, loving the whole preppy aesthetic, etc
I am always slightly amazed that Friends has become popular again in the whole Y2K trend. If ever a show was ripe for cancelling, it’s that one, and yet people seem to love it. Weird.

My favorite part of this video was her saying she was sad to leave the garden/home because she was going to Oxford that day, and then showing the next day (if she's not lying about the time sequence, which is doubtful, but how many lies can you wrap yourself up in?) still at Bones Manor, and then also showing that evening, after dinner and her shower, obviously staying for yet another night. If it is true that she was meant to go home that first night, it's a clear indication that she is not happy at AXEFUD and wants to stay home longer. But if it's not true, it just goes to show that she's a giant liar and smudges her timelines (which is also not surprising and something WE know, but you'd think her avid watchers would have caught on by now). Either way, I don't know how she has an active audience to whom she constantly lies to. I will never trust her yapping and holier-than-thou lectures about anything she does, or anything she claims to know. Another insufferable watch. Thanks, Ruby, for nothing.
She's not lying, necessarily, about the sequence: the second "day" is clearly earlier than the first. The flowers are less bloomed, she keeps referencing storm Kathleen (which was at the beginning of the month, not earlier this week as term starts today). She doesn't refer to it as the next day either, just "another day" in spring. Given she does just lie about timescales sometimes, the way she's presented this is probably more representative of her slapdash editing. She probably just didn't think about how it would look (and for a literature student? Womp womp.)

Gosh I miss our pretending-to-be-a-writer girlypop. Come on why can't she just drop out and twirl around in her garden again. At least we got regular videos.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't upload a single video between now and the end of half term as Trinity Term starts on the 21st of April. I have to admit though it does seem strange that she hasn't uploaded anything because when she came back from her break I fully expected her to go back to how she was before and upload videos every Wednesday, yet she hasn't uploaded for 2 weeks and seems to be taking another break from YouTube which suggests that she hasn't got the motivation to film a new video.

Her weird food obsessions are just so annoying. It used to be frozen peas for breakfast, now it's carrots 🤢

Is anyone else slightly worried for her health? She must be deficient in vitamin D, B12 and iron. I hope she takes supplements.

The way her handwriting looks... Gosh, she needs therapy. She starts big but quickly goes smaller to the point it's almost illegible. Her upper zone (which stands for intelligence) is still nonexistent. Her middle zone (which stands for social life) is shrinking rapidly. Her lower zone (the subconscious thoughts) are never going back to the baseline. Nowhere in life she is satisfied with herself. I have saved quite a few of her writings from over the year just to see how it changes... well, it doesn't. The most concerning thing is that it doesn't matter if it's a poem she wrote or a journal entry or a letter, if you look at the right side of the page, you can see how she has plenty of space to write but simply chooses not to - regardless of format - which can be a sign of ED. She thinks subconsciously the words are too long to fit the paper, it will be too much, and she must start a new line.
It's really sad, but at least she has no declining lines or inconsistent pressure...
She needs therapy, guys, serious therapy.

How can she get to her mid-twenties and still be that ignorant she doesn’t know what to wear to a black tie event? What does she wear to weddings? A tracksuit?
Probably this green dress...again ahahaha

Even that black maxi dress she sometimes wears would have been better.

On instagram, Jade claimed that this happened '5 mins before' the formal dinner

Yet here she is wearing a totally different dress:

It looks like it might have been the PR manager's dress? In which case, what was she wearing? How quick did this change of clothes happen? Sounds like the story has been exaggerated for effect.
Either she planned to change, either she would go with awful sport shoes like shown in the video. She def planned to change, and they used that as an excuse to make themselves more relatable.

Why do I feel this does not bode well for her thesis? Will she have to defend her thesis in front of a panel of professors? 🫣
I think that's only at PhD level, fortunately for Ruby.

I'm flashing back to her other "casual magic" whimsical rambles about crap she saw in her back yard. Like that time she deduced that a lack of berries on a blackberry bush must mean that a local family came to pick them for berry sandwiches and the idea that birds and local wildlife would've eaten them simply did not occur to Ruby's withered raisin brain.
Lol I'd forgotten about that. Was it the time she went for a walk in the cold so she could describe the cold in her novel?

Isn't she close to finishing her MA?
She finishes her Masters in June but she doesn't seem engaged in the degree at all as in the video she spent more time writing her novel than studying for her dissertation. Something just feels off with her at moment because even back home she isn't her usual bubbly self.

‘Bucolic’ light in city paintings got me in this Paris video. That doesn’t make sense! (Not that everything else she says is perfect)

I don’t expect everyone to know every word. And there’s loads I get wrong. But I’m not putting it out in public But an English masters student should know better.

I miss cheesy fringe Ruby. She seemed so much happier back then. As many here have been saying for a long time, most of her content is just so miserable these days. I know it’s hard not to project my own experience of ageing/change onto Ruby, but watching her lose her enthusiasm and appear more anxious and stuck than her peers as she ages is too relatable 😬. I’m older and not privileged like her though, so I feel like she has time and far more resources to turn things around mental health wise. I really hope she does someday, because I’m sure she’s realising how quickly time flies now and the older we get the more deep rooted all these issues become. I feel like so much would change for her mentally too if she gave her brain some proper nutrition 😅
I think the word for her whole existence is "waste". She wastes money, ressources, relationships, opportunities and time constantly and isn't even happy with her life.

this is so off topic but Marylebone does have an underground station but it's only the bakerloo line!! Paddington has a direct train to kings cross via the circle and Hammersmith & city lines which would explain the change in service too

In what way is it ableism?
Bouncing around and grimacing etc can mimic neurodiverse stimming, but many neurodiverse people don’t think of themselves as disabled so that statement in itself is problematic.

If the poster meant it wasn’t okay to laugh at Ruby doing that as it mimics learning disabled people, well Ruby isn’t learning disabled so it’s okay to say it looks weird 😆

So, if you were getting ready to study in the library for the day Ruby how come in your planner it said that you were packing for home and then going back home at 14:30. Also I also find it weird that she was going home on the Monday and that it was only a week into Trinity Term.

I agree but I don't personally think Blakeney gives off the same vibes towards Ruby. Idk it feels like a one sided crush to me.
But I don't really want to speculate on someone's sexuality or the nature of a relationship between two people.
Most of us who think she has a crush on B are not straight ourselves so there is nothing wrong with speculation.

Besides, we're long past the don't ask don't tell days.

I could actually picture her working in a bookshop, archive or library but I think you might need extra qualifications to be an archivist. I could also picture her working in a museum maybe. Not saying she’d be good at any of these or that she’d last long but I think those are the kind of jobs she probably pictures herself going into so if she pursued any kind of actual job I reckon it would be that. But yeah definitely not a traditional 9-5 office job.
Agree, and somewhere where she doesnt have to manage other people. She would be a horrific line manager.

She has to commit more to the absurdism, or it doesn't work. If I can't tell if it's just classic scatter brained Ruby when she went off to look for bees in the rain (an act I assume she crafted for the absurdism) then that's a bit of a problem.
