Her natural voice sounds quite nice tbh. I don't know why she insists on putting on that grating fake accent.
Because she still wants to remind a Hermione Granger IRL. Most of her fanbase came for that initially.
Watched the “10 books Ruby lies about reading in April” so you don’t have to! The fake smiles, eyes darting all over the place when she lies and the “aaaaands” make it another hard watch. I can’t help but feel like she’s wasting her time with these books she’s pretending to read. You think she would be preparing for Oxford and getting started on the reading list?
• The absolute bull “birdsong” in her video. Does she think we’re dumb? She has obviously overlaid the sound over the video. It gets particularly intense towards the second half of the video.
• Something incredibly cringe hearing her talk about bird mating calls.
• As someone else said, why did she start filming when she had something that had 10 mins left in the oven? Also, why bother mention this? If you’re just going off to take something out of the oven, surely a cut wouldn’t be very noticeable…
• Gifted kombucha that she doesn’t mention?
• I swear she pretended to read Macbeth recently, but she claims in this video it was 5+ years ago?
• Has anyone else noticed that a lot of her books often look pristine, and the spines are always intact? She could at least try to make them look read.
• Her camera dies and then she comes back with a lisp.
• I can’t even with her comments on Irish literature.
• Claims to have “reread” the death in Venice. Again, another hard to believe for me.

What did she say? I watched some of the video but skipped through a lot.
I'll have a look at it later. Just watching the Venice vlog and I'm not sure if I can handle more than 30 mins of Ruby per day.
She said that irish literature can be 'very introspective, melancholic and beautifully lyrical'. She does that stupid laugh that she thinks makes her sound cool and says that Ireland is a whole country and she is generalising
Roob loves the book because it captures childhood perfectly and she does a creepy zoom effect as she sits there looking off into the distance, hand on her heart, lost for words, because of the childhood-focus of the book.
The usual unwatchable low quality gap yah content from Ruby and no new What A Palaver blog post in over a month. It's hard out here

More than likely another one of her weird affectations that she's latched onto to try to make herself seem more childlike.
It could be a dental issue, though. Things like mouth ulcers and tooth allignment problems can cause lisps, which wouldn't be too surprising considering her dental hygeine's no doubt ducked due to her ED habits and she's had at least one tooth out fairly recently.
One thing I love about Ruby is how insightful she is

To be fair, this is a vegan leather backpack from dr martens, I looked it up because I am a vegan and love their products but I didn't know they made them,
Nevertheless, this is so unnecessary, she already owns several backpacks , some of them we only saw her wear once or twice.
I believe anyone can do whatever they wany with their money but some things she buys are just wasteful, specially coming from someone that claims is interested in charities, helping others and "be kind" (whatever that means). She is fully aware of her privileges yet does nothing with it.
The vegan backpack doesn’t come in black though, and hers is black, unless she’s got some weird-a filter on.

This came up in my recommended this morning, so a bit of a throwback to 2020 with her ”disinfect everything” video. I’d forgotten the amount of manic grinning and aggressive finger-pointing. I mourn the loss of the original video - I only managed to see it once before she took it down.

I do remember finding this video odd when I first watched it in 2020 and it's stranger now but I can't put my finger on why. I don't know if it's Ruby trying to make washing her hands productive or her soaking everything in disinfectant or her conundrum about disinfecting paper . I don't know if it's because Ruby is actually quite messy and grotty off camera instead of the tidy person she pretends to be.
I know it's very 'of the time' especially as no one has no idea what was going to happen and the advise was to literally sing happy birthday whole washing your hands from the UK government and isolate otherwise just carry one. I worked an antique fair the weekend before lockdown and it was the most stressful time and my boss was wanting us to look like we were doing something and to help the customers feel better so we were having to wash our hands and surfaces between every customer in the cafe (basically once every two minutes) and my hands were raw. I can't imagine what it was like in a hospital at the time. So I can understand Ruby's obsessive application of sanitiser.
I think it's probably strange to me as I do think that this perhaps the start of the decline of Ruby's mental health and the regression. I can't remember when she filmed herself running out of the house as she heard a noise , I don't know if this was before or after that video, but I feel it was the start of her regression for me anyway. The change in her appearance, face wise is really noticeable to me.
