Justifying her vacuous existence and actually an extremely unproductive existance at that- me thinks. At close to her age I was working in a F/T professional health care job. I took full responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, management and discharge of children on my caseload. I had to earn a living not parade about living a fantasy life cosplaying female protastgonists from well known books. I guess it's so obvious from my posts how much I can't bear Ruby's presentation of herself. I say presentation as I've no idea who the real Ruby is. Anyone know?
I think this is what irks me the most. Like she says to study for the sake of it and all this shit because she needs to feel morally superior to all us stupid plebs who have to work for a living.

AAlso pisses me off because she frames it as "gosh why don't people study just for the sake of it anymore, all the stupid lazy Gen Z who don't enjoy learning" instead of "why has late stage capitalism and corporate greed made it impossible for young people to lead a life they enjoy without either selling their soul to a 9-5 or being absolutely skint"

I can’t get my head round the fact that she gets paid real money to go to her real job and she turns up in clothes that aren’t ironed. You’re not cosplaying any more Ruby, it’s a professional environment 🤦‍♀️

I remember my first job when I lived at home - my mother would literally stop me by the front door and tell me that I couldn’t go out like that if I had a hole in my tights I hadn’t noticed or something was creased. Why is mother bones so incapable of teaching her children basic social norms?

When someone in this thread talks about mental illness, i think they talk about their suspicion, potential signs and their observation. Of course no one here can make a diagnosis unless they are Ruby's doctor/therapist.

I think we can have a healthier discussion if we can keep this in mind. Because i feel like we have been repeating the same discussion thread after thread. Her past and current problematic behaviors have been explained here many times by gossip_guy and many others. If you havent noticed those signs, do not defend, ask about it! Ppl in this thread very kindly remind us when asked.

Lets keep this thread a healthy space, because this is the only safe space I have rn in my life 😬

why? it’s quite common
I know it's still quite common in the UK, but personally I don't like distinguishing between a married an an unmarried woman. It is outdated, in my opinion. If all the men can be Mr irrespective of their marital status, so should it be for the women. Some European languages (such as German) don't use this distinction anymore because it's seen as insensitive.

If a book doesn't have a rich white girl living a dreamy life in a boarding school or with a new family (this says something about how she feels about her own family) , she doesn't like it.
Yep, guess she's once again not part of the "inTAnDed DeMogRapHic". I think that "boring" is a perfectly valid criticism if what you're looking for is a good plot, interesting characters etc. But this book was clearly meant for more than pure entertainment. She's a literature graduate, a self-proclaimed avid reader who shows off philosophical works on her channel AND an aspiring Oxford student, so you'd think this would have been a great opportunity to discuss the ideas in the book or come up with something more well thought out than "boring". She's so condescending towards writers who have shaped the course of literature in her own country.

Since nothing is happening, let me share a totally OT Roobee moment I had yesterday.
Background: 1) I’m trying to finally finish Special Operation and Peace by That Russian Guy. 2) I have a cat who needs to be medicated daily for 5-6 weeks and we’re on day 8, no one’s loving it.

So, long story short, I got rather badly bitten by my PARFACKT little angel yesterday and had to go to A&E (walking distance and next to the supermarket). I brought a book, expecting to have to wait all evening. Fun fact, cat bites are apparently super dangerous and my tetanus wasn’t up to date, so they took me in past an entire waiting-room-ful of sneezy coughy people, and I got my shot and antibiotics and was out of there in five minutes flat. Elated, I decided to do a little food shop since I now had all this time - but alas, once I got all my groceries, my backpack could no longer accommodate my book (it was between the book and 2kg of potatoes lol). I had to walk home holding SO&P, but no one saw me (it was dark and there were no people anyway) and ofc we can’t have that, so I took a very Roobee photo for my insta stories that prominently featured said book. Felt like a bookish child genius and an unspeakable fraud all at the same time, which I imagine is all in a day’s work for little miss bookwahrm.

She’s really not been posting much. I imagine the impending ”traditional job” is quite anxiety-inducing after being holed up in her childhood bedroom for so long.

The irony of Holocaust charity swindler Ruby ending up sat between an expert in moral and social theology, a student of ethics and a Rabbi two days before Holocaust Memorial Day is quite something.

She's also now identifying as a WROITAH and entrepreneur, even though her only business ties are getting paid in snack bars to post undeclared ads and pretending she's the owner of a failing business that she has no involvement in.
Khushal Yousafzai is Malala’s brother, the contrast between the qualifications of Ruby and the other panelists is astonishing

in her most recent tiktok she says "I'm buzzing about today" and my only conclusions are
1) someone said it in a book and Ruby assumed it was a highly academic word and has now adopted it.
2) She's soft launching her new Northern era

She's not introverted, she's mentally ill. Introverts don't have anxiety attacks when spending time with people. I'm an introvert, I'm also shy and awkward and hate being the center of attention or having to speak in public. Those to me are different traits. My boyfriend is also an introvert but he's very charming to people, he's good at public speaking, and forms/maintains friendships easily. He just prefers to be on his own. My brother is an introvert but he's also super funny and charismatic and always makes people laugh.
There's plenty of introverts who are able to have careers where they have to meet a lot of people. I would say that most jobs require you to interact with other people. That's not society being bad, it would be impossible to accomplish most things without working with others.
Of course she feels like society isn't for her. Society is never gonna accommodate someone who can't leave her bedroom or socialize and refuses to act her age in any meaningful way. That doesn't mean that society isn't made for introverts or whatever.
Exactly this. I’m introverted but I don’t take panic attacks from meeting with friends nor am I unnaturally attached to my parents. Most introverts are really independent people so it’s hilarious to me that Ruby claims to be one whilst simultaneously having the needs of a child. She’s so unstable within her self that she needs external validation through the forms of praise and achievement, she has no self confidence that comes from within. The only reason she resents living in an ‘extroverted world’ is because she has a ‘not like other girls attitude’ in the worst way possible, half her personality is based on the fact that she doesn’t like what other people like. That’s a very annoying person to be around and as such he has a difficult time finding friends.

The beetroot latte tiktok is so funny to me because you can tangibly see Ruby's thought process.

Ah yes, I'll use a teacup because it's pretty, I'll use beetroot powder because it's colourful, I'll loudly froth the mixture and clink the ice because that's what people on the internet find satisfying!

But she has no practical sense of making content because the teacup has a wider brim than the glass she's going to drink out of so it slops everywhere, the ice is huge and struggles to get into the glass, the frothing just serves no purpose for the drink, and who the hell has beetroot powder at home anyway? Why is everything she consumes in powder form? And why does she furiously stab the concoction at the end like it's a shit that won't go down?

Little miss ”I know all the words” once again can’t spell her way out of a paper bag. It’s ”paraskevidekatriaphobia”, not ”paraskevadekatkriaphobia”!

I'm not sure what I love more:

That she posted that rambling mess of utterly embarrassing, pointless crap.

That the very long, unusual word she desperately wanted us to believe she knew by heart was one she got completely wrong.

That the punchline to the whole needlessly long "Didjoo knyow?" post that nobody asked for was that it was an ad for Miss Patina all along.

I would like to note that I don't give a shit about anyone's opinion of the royals/harry/megan/Spare - it's a controversial subject and I feel like it's going to completely derail the conversation, when we really should be focusing on why the fuck ruby still hasn't learn to brush her hair without ripping it all out.

Also on the list of things she never learnt: how to light a candle without tunneling it, how to pour liquids without spilling them, and how to be a functioning adult without relying on mummy, daddy, and stolen charity money to get by

I'd be shocked if she got into Oxford, even with how comparatively forgiving the Masters competition is. Jack Edwards is cut from the exact same mould as Ruby and looked like a shoe-in on paper but kept getting rejected over and over, so I think it's very likely she'll get bounced. They're not going to look at her samples of recycled work as forgivably as AXATAR would, especially if her statement is a meandering mess of embellished accomplishments and malapropisms, too. You only need look at her LinkedIn for a glimpse at what kind of crap she'll write.

Like Jack, Ruby's probably going to lean on her influencer "accomplishments" in her statement because she has nothing else going on and no real work experience (I imagine this is a big reason why she's rushed to work at her nepo-job at Pipers Corner, to get one quick example of "real work" on her CV before it's too late). I doubt it's going to impress them any more than Jack bragging about being a YouTuber and writing a vanity book did.

If she mentions her YouTube channel in her personal statement, someone's going to look at it, and it'll only take a quick glance at a few videos to realise she's a lazy, fake and dishonest moron with a fragile grasp of the English language. If she brags about her AMMILY DICKENSON SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN, they'll see a dead TikTok channel full of directionless, poorly-produced content which attracted almost no views. If she mentions her school job, they'll see a very short, very late tenure at the private school she attended and has close ties to (and she'll likely use her old teacher as a reference), which won't make her world look any less small, sheltered and privileged.

If she does get in, that'd be the worst thing for her. She won't have Blakeney doing half her work for her this time, her academic laziness and shortcuts aren't going to fly and she won't be able to benefit from Exeter's grade inflation any more. She'll be held up to an incredibly high standard and much closer scrutiny. She'll be woefully out of her depth. The moment she gets less than the First she thinks she deserves, she'll be having a breakdown and crying on the internet again over how unfair it is. Can't wait.

It seems she has started. I saw a reply she made to a comment on her latest video. She told the commenter that she is loving working at the school.
I saw that and she said something like ‘I am loving it, honestly’, which seemed a bit disingenuous to me. Normally when Ruby says REARHLY and HONESTLY it means the complete opposite.

She should really think about stepping away from social media, especially if she gets into a graduate program.

How can any academic take her seriously when she posts videos of herself prancing around her parents garden or cosplaying Jo March?

Her social media influencer title will only damage her potential career as an academic or just a profesional who can't be taken seriously.

She would never have been able to secure a teaching job at any other school that wasn't the one she went too. It was simply a who you know situation as someone pointed out.

I mean… learning just ‘for the sake of learning’ is all well and good when mummy and daddy will allow you to indefinitely live rent free in their mansion 💀, some of us are quite literally just at university so that we can get a job and pay our bills. That’s how life works in the real world.
