i wonder myself where that come from. sorry for my bias but when somebody with basic school education and no education for a job do not know how to pronounce plato - fine. i will teach you kindly this. i get it. but someone who is so proud of her education, of learning, of teaching should know at least the basic words and if not know how to find out. of course everyone can pronounce words like you want in your private space but in public? and then she thinks correction is bullying. No ruby. Correction is another word for Learning, something you LOVE to do.
I quote Snape: She is an insufferable know it all
This is what rings my neurodivergence signal bells as someone who has a lot of experience supporting ND people in education - these are such common everyday words for someone who has got this far in education and claims to be a huge reader. I know people are very sensitive talking about diagnosing people but I don’t see this as a negative thing as I’ve seen the huge positive changes the correct support can allow for younger Rubies

I didn't dare myself to write ND b/c I am not a professional or better to say: I studied this are but I do not work in this are but my bell rings when I see stuff like that b/c it doesn't seem for me that someone did not know due to not knowing but b/c of some serious stuff

I've heard this stupid opinion several times and people's defence is that language is a changing, evolving thing. Yes sure, but not in that way?! Mural doesn't become murial because Ruby can't be arsed to learn how to say it or language won't change direction because she can't stomach someone correcting her mistakes. Wtf.

She'll twist anything to come off as a bargain bin Hermione, too bad she can't be bothered to actually learn the amount of stuff Hermione knew. It's easy to give yourself a label and aesthetic to make yourself appear studious, it's an entirely other thing to actually be open to learning. You don't need bloody Notion, overpriced tea or ill fitting clothes from Miss Patina to do the latter.

A bit OT, but did any of you ever heard of this : https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/60691735/1/charming-beats-llc-v-bones/ (read the PDF file, it's worth it!)
It would explain why Rubéole needs charity money to cover for the potential finanacial loss that came out of this. Plus, it also shows how never acknowledging your mistakes can get you into deep trouble, although apparently, Roobee hasn't learned anything from this.

For those of you who don't want to be bothered with legal jargon, here's a summary of what happened to Rubéole:
Someone made a formal complaint to a NY judge about a music copyright infringement. The person whose musical rights were infringed contacted Roobee and her RPs multiple times to signal that she was using this music in her YT videos, but (of course, she probably considers herself too clever to mix up with a plebean American musician) Roobee never reacted, despite claiming on YT that she didn't own the rights to that music  She went on using that person's music multiple times for various videos. And finally, a complaint was made by the musician's lawyer to a NY court to get damages.[/SPOILER]

So, basically, she steals people's work, she steals charity money. What's next? Shoplifting in Waterstone's?

I know this is a civil case but man wouldn't it be funny if Ruby ended up behind bars

I briefly read something like 45,000 $. Maybe she had to pay this? It would explain why she's become so interested in earning money from anything that has to do with the Holocaust.

!!!! Wow. Definitely not OT. This sounds really serious. I can't understand why she just didn't remove the music from the videos. Why double down? Was this incredibly bad advice from Sixteenth? Were they relying on her being out of the US and they didn't think the claim has jurisdiction? Maybe she had proof she donates all proceeds from the videos... but there's no reference to that potential mitigating argument in the plaintiff's brief.

I'm also stunned there was even a court case. I thought YouTube policy was to remove videos for even suspected copyright infringements and even full channels if persistent. Which still makes it odd that Ruby used the music in the first place, let alone dug in and refused to remove it. It sounds as if at the very least removing the music would have saved her a serious amount of stress and worry, not to mention what she may have had to hand over as part of any settlement. I wonder what agreement they reached to drop the case.

Oh god lol (and by ”lol” I mean it’s jarring to see it written out objectively like this, it’s actually not funny)

26. Defendant is YouTube personality and content creator. Defendant Ruby Bones
adopted the pseudonym Ruby Granger based on the Harry Potter character Hermione Granger.

27. Defendant, without license or authority, reproduced and synchronized the
Copyrighted Tracks to the Infringing Videos as follows:

Title of Infringing Video Unlicensed Copyrighted Track
The B-B-Bullies (Short Film) Signaling Through The Flames
Inspirational Woman – People who have Starscapes
inspired me
M-M-Martin’s Bullies Twelve Days Awake

28. The use of mocked stuttering in the titles of two of the Infringing Videos is
objectively controversial and damages the Copyrighted Tracks by the forced association.

but she seemed to have put the videos down or made them private. At last. It took her a while. I would have removed the videos immediately (but I wouldn't use music I don't own the copyright to in the first place)

She really had no choice, she was being sued after ignoring them as long as she possibly could 😂

”Literary tourism” 😂😂😂 also her next video is titled ”A Day in My (Literary) Life” We get it Rootabaga, you like to pose with books 🙄

I don't think its very significant or relevant. the band appear to exist just to make generic background music and be litigious. look up charming beats LLC and you'll see how many companies they've attempted to sue. its dozens and dozens. The band also has tried to sue microsoft, google, tidal and Jay Z. lol.
The videos theyre complaining about also appear to be from when Ruby was a child, likely from before she was even making money from youtube.

Yeah, I mean I doubt they’d have much luck getting any money off her anyway even if they did sue her considering she lives in a completely different country

This got picked up a good few threads ago and yeah, if you look into the company they’re a music publisher and seem to be after making vexatious claims against pretty much anyone. This isn’t specifically a Ruby thing.

If she's had to take down the videos, that would imply it's not entirely a vexatious claim in her case.

I think the inspirational women one was only a couple of years ago. I might be wrong, but I thought it was a sponsored video. But in any case, she was definitely an adult when they requested her to remove the music.

I'm lowkey excited for her and jealous lol, this trip sounds really cool
Same if I’m honest, I’d definitely like to be in a position to undertake a similar trip myself, but seeing as I’m not, the next best thing is going to be the infinite opportunity for snark this is going to provide us 😁 We’re going to have footage of Roobee frolicking in any number of quaint New England settings amidst autominal foylage, dramatic readings of Ammilee Dickinson and Nathayniul Hawthorne et al, and of course pumpkin spice everything as befits a rich white girl in Amurica. It’s the best of all possible universes, plus we can take bets on which parent will be accompanying her (since we all know what ”solo trip” in Roobeespeak actually means).

Does anyone know if she is going alone on this trip or nah? I personally couldn’t imagine going alone as a female to the US bc I’d just be terrified of the size of it and the guns, and I consider myself a very independent person so idk how she will cope there if she goes alone
