"The book recommendation is Hamlet by Shakespeare because this outfit kinda reminds me of Ophelia and Hamlet is a really good play. It's bettah watched I- I suspect but I haven't watched it, I've only read it and I did like it when I read it. And, erm, a TEA recommendation... I don't know, something like Russian caravan? Russian caravan's very good."

Good job looking up the character list, Roobee. Most book recommendations include some overview of the plot and themes, and most tea recommendations include a description of the flavor.

How on earth does she have a literature degree if the only thing she can say about Hamlet is to identify that it is a play which was intended to be performed on stage? It's very telling that she considers reading the play more boring than watching the murders play out on stage would be. She doesn't like reading, finding connections, analyzing characters, or anything else that a "bookworm" supposedly would love.

I dont feel sorry for her ED wise. She has been doing research on this for years and willfully triggers people. Idk if she has it under control or not, but she went looking for it and now harms other people. Fuck her.

Somehow critical thinking and calling someone out for non acceptable behavior always gets twisted into being jealous.

Why would I be jealous of Ruby? (apart from being ultra rich apparently but even then I prefer my own life so much more that not even money could temp me to live Ruby’s life).
it’s not so much about her personality/interests but more having a stable family, tons of money and a cute room in a literal manor - i‘d actually love to have these things soo yes i get being jealous of ruby

I mean it can't be very easy with the cap :D I wish them both a happy day!

edit: I also feel like I should mention, I had a super productive afternoon with the livestream on in the background. Last week of work before vacay just got 80% DONE in one day! Apparently I need a stupid distraction like this in order to work efficiently 😂

And wasn’t she bullied at school? Why would anyone go back to the place where they were bullied in the past?
I was bullied at school and I don’t feel entirely comfortable suggesting that Ruby wasn’t - there are different kinds of bullying, girls in particular can be vicious and just because you aren’t hit it doesn’t mean that you weren’t hurt. However, taking Erimentha with a massive pinch of salt as Ruby’s autobiographical novel, and taking most of what she put in there as some sort of slightly sadistic wish-fulfilment, I’m not sure that Ruby was ever ‘bullied’. I think she went through a difficult period at school in terms of social relationships, but I genuinely can’t see Ma Granger and Daddy Bones ever keeping Ruby in an environment with serious bullying - quite a few of the ‘bullying’ episodes in Erimentha are basically assault and I don’t doubt that if anything like that had really happened, at the very least the family would have taken Ruby out of the school. She also has never really been consistent with what she says and when she says things happened - again, maybe there are reasons for that but it does seem odd for something that has been such a big thing I her life.

I can’t help but feel that Ruby was never quite as important or popular as she felt she should be, and that caused some issues with her peer group. I also think that the school did deal with whatever went on and Ruby seems to have been happy at the school - it doesn’t strike me as the kind of place that would make someone ‘controversial’ the Head Girl. I think she keeps going back because being Head Girl was the pinnacle of her life - she was special and important and had lots of young people looking up at her, which is what she likes. I mean that in an entirely non-sexual way, I just think she likes to feel important and in charge and can’t do that with her peers or other adults and so looks for that adulation from younger people. She’s living this weird tweenager’s idea of a grown-up life (Endless shopping! Frolicking! No bills! Toddler food! Reading books all day! Dressing up! Lots of money but no real job!) which I can imagine is very appealing to a lot of her younger fans.

Shocking Ruby update: The shredded armchair that she got from the house she owns and used as a spine-mangling office chair is now gone.

Is this the first smart decision Ruby's made this year? Has she bought an appropriate office chair for the 9 hours a day of sitting and moping at screens she does?

You keep saying this, and I wanted to have a look through your video summaries to try and countenance it, but you've limited who can see your posts. Which videos of hers show this? Because it's quite the accusation (and no proof is collected on the wiki.) I've not the time nor the inclination to parse through all 26000 posts on Ruby to try and find them.

ETA: once we have a starting point of evidence, it could be worth adding it to the wiki.
All of Ruby's recycled vlogs blend together at this point, so I don't recall which exact ones off the top of my head feature it all, but Ruby has revealed the following in her videos:
  • Ruby "coincidentally" chose all the exact same modules as Blakeney. Every single one, every single time. Nobody would bat an eye if two close friends picked the same modules, but her awkward denial that it was JANUINELY conincidental had "Ruby doth protest too much" energy all over it.
  • Ruby talked Blakeney into linking her Notion with Ruby's so that she would have free and easy access to all of Blakeney's academic notes and whatever work she kept on there.
  • Ruby kept scheduling "debrief" sessions with Blakeney both before and after seminars and lectures for some reason, along with a suspicious amount of "study chats" with her. Given that Ruby's mind is a barren wasteland which has never produced an original thought, this blatantly looks like Ruby not doing the reading and picking Blakeney's brain for ideas or things to say.
  • Ruby talked Blakeney into "sharing" the critical reading workload. Her bizarre plan meant they would each split the assigned critical reading and read half each (I think she said two essays each), summarise and then swap notes to avoid doing half the work. Ruby's notes appeared completely useless and nonsensical, so undoubtedly Blakeney wasn't benefitting from this arrangement and still had to do the full reading while Ruby got another significant shortcut.
And there's likely more that I'm forgetting. All that combined, in light of Ruby stupidly revealing that she often didn't read the main texts and just copied a Sparknotes summary and character list into Notion instead, it does not look good for ol' Rubert in any way.

It gives the overwhelming indication that Ruby did everything she could to shortcut her way through, rely heavily on Blakeney's notes, ideas and suggestions while avoiding doing a huge amount of the required reading herself. And it totally looks like she picked all the same modules as Blakeney so that she'd be able to rely on those shortcuts for her whole degree, because anyone else would've told Ruby where to shove her Notion.

Edit: Found a couple.

That's one of the videos in which Ruby keeps mentioning that she schedules excessive amounts of random study discussion meetings with Blakeney so that she could "feed back" on the reading and be "ready for" the seminars/lectures.

Recap here:

The only thing you need to do to be prepared for a seminar is do the reading yourself and have a functioning brain, and Ruby's 0 for 2. Considering Exeter grades students on seminar participation, this looks especially dodgy.

And here's the video in which Ruby reveals that she gets Blakeney to do the critical reading for her:

Recap here:

BONES ? BONES IS HER REAL LAST NAME ? Yo that's kind of a cool last name for real I'm a bit mad. Why would she prefer Granger. I have a friend who's last name actually is Granger and she hates it so much lmao.

Ruby's definitely not getting any smarter with time.

After getting roasted for wearing sweaters and thick tights in the a heatwave, Ruby's already embarrassing herself even more by jumping on the "ACKSHUALLY..." denial and protest train.

Untitl7084566851455656755457ed.jpg

"Whan I wyoke up this morning at SIX...(humblebrag about something that likely never happened)...it was ACKSHUALLY cyold enoff to wahhr a jomper and syo I DID waahr a jomper and toiyts this morninggg...(Sighs wistfully - isn't she AVVER SYO WHIMSICAL?)...I probably stayed in that jomper until loiyke...noine?"

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BLATANTLY LIE ABOUT SHIT LIKE THIS. Just say "Yup, as you could probably tell, I wore that jumper just to colour-coordinate for a planner ad. I took it off right away and changed into sensible clothes". You'd look less like a colossal idiot and compulsive liar.

Anyway, after lying her ass off, she then does another "outfit of the day" inspired by Wonder. She rambles about the importance of kindness while wearing her PETA-branded "CHEESE KOINDNESS" t-shirt once again even after the last PETA fiasco:

Ruby quotes the book: "When given the choice between being right and being kind, choose kind." Ruby consistently chooses neither.

I never knew being head girl is such a big deal in the UK? in my home country we have something like head boy/head girl, but I would say 90% of students don't care at all who that is, is it really true that most student look up to "their" head girl?
It's not such a big deal. When you're in school perhaps and may help with your UCAS applications to get into uni but as soon as you've left, nobody cares. I certainly wouldn't be putting it on job applications or as a crowning life achievement.

Ruby sees it as her peak in life though. She had younger pupils looking up to her, teachers probably bonding with her and she received the constant praise and validation she didn't get when she left. This is the reason she's going back and clinging onto it: it makes her feel important.

ryoobees mum is getting a bit creative with these angles
After -literal years- of the same view, I'll take whichever new angles are offered. 😂

I'm finding Ruby's repetitive existence kind of depressing lately. It's been worse since she left uni. All that free time, but still stuck at the desk in her childhood bedroom.

This 'before school ends' routine could be directed at her younger viewers. I know that her channel's still classed as studytube, so maybe she feels the need to continue that content so she doesn't lose followers. That's the charitable interpretation lol. Of course, it might just be that Ruby wants to remain a child forever and is unable to move past that stage of her life. Or a mixture of both, perhaps.

It's quite sad that her vacation (or vacation time in general) is still so focused on university and academia. There is no down time for her, it's all about revising the notes, organising the notes, reuse the notes, make a to do list, because God forbid you do something outside your 'script', something unplanned.

"Make sure you make the most of [your summer], you properly switch off and relax" - this is just one point among 16 others which are focued on academia. That's not really switching off is it?

Also why is she preparing her school bag, notes etc since she's not coming back to uni this year?

ETA: I also think it's the responsibility of people in Ruby's life (be it school or parents) to set stronger boundaries. I know she's technically an adult, but if she's never been told it's inappropriate then she won't know. Her comments sections might hold her accountable, but she can always dismiss this as bullying from strangers.
Absolutely.

Her unhealthy fixation with childhood, other children and being a child again is a huge red flag and it's on full display. There's no way her parents haven't noticed it, considering how she acts, all the creepy pictures of children placed lovingly all over her house, most of her social interactions being with much younger girls and how hyperfocused her interests are in children's literature and TV.

Even if never has any untoward thoughts or intentions, that obsession with staying rooted in childhood is hacking her personal development off at the knees. Her parents should curb that obsession right now and intervene to tell her exactly how unusual and unhealthy it is. But nope, her mother just enables it, films Ruby twirling around the garden dressed like she's 9, chaperones her to school events focused on children and binge-watches Mallory Towers with her, as seen in Ruby's Insta stories the other day.

And even if there's zero intent or thoughts of noncery there with Ruby, Ruby clearly has massive mental health issues that she should be discussing with a therapist and should not be trusted around kids. She's a toxic and exploitative influence on her fans out in the open, I wouldn't for one instant trust her behind closed doors talking to a child. She clearly has no moral compass whatsoever, so god knows what dangerous shit she'd be whispering in their ear, how many meals she'd be telling them to skip, what she'd be guiding them to buy, or what she'd be coaching them to do to become the Ruby proxy that she wants to live vicariously through. And that power dynamic means her young fans are infinitely less likely to question her behaviour.

There's zero reason for Ruby to be socialising with children. She's not a child herself and she's not a healthy influence on anyone. It's a massive red flag regardless of her intentions, and it's indescribably unhealthy for herself and the kids involved. Any interactions with fans should be done out in the open for all to see - it's what her social media platforms are for.

Welcome and don’t forget to mark these threads as one of your read books for this year.
I think you’ll find that each post counts as at least a novel. That means we have already read thousands and thousands of books this year. Have a productive week!

”Spiraling thoughts” 🤔

View attachment 1391061
Oh boy I feel like those "spiralling thoughts" might have been about her ""disappointing"" dissertation grade... Eithe that or she's just stressing about her book deal plans.

But it's just insane to me how she has the perfect life (amazing parents, being rich as fuck, having tons of priviledge and advantages, having graduated from university with stellar grades, free to do whatever she wants, ...) and yet she spends her days being sad about receiving a First on her dissertation because the First wasn't high enough. Dealing with "spiralling thoughts" when she could be so happy and enjoy her youth and her life to the fullest. It's honestly not even the fun kind of bullshit at this point, it just makes me sad.

I was creeped out when Rubster started collecting contact details of kids through some online scheme a few months back. I know many here voiced their concerns about inappropriateness but said she was likely just misinformed and not necessarily sketchy.

I would just say - yeah, wouldn't want this around my kid. Her enabling family and narcissistic tendencies - I would be disturbed if she was in contact with a minor unchecked (even contacting through letters in the mail with inappropriate subtext of a personal relationship).

I grew up in religious circles and her feigned personality, approach to “critical thinking”, even aesthetic, would have fit in well.

I don't know if she is a creep. But I've known enough people that seemed much like her, who ended up being creeps (even jailed for offending against minors) that it doesn't seem a trivial idea to me. She's obviously a person struggling with at least some mental health and physical health issues. I really hope that these issues are all that contributes to her seemingly sinister behaviour. But, if I were a person in her circle, I'd be aware that hope is not enough and there have been enough red flags now to steer well clear.
