"I'm just really interested to know!"What the duck is that question on her YouTube channel? If I were to publish would you read?
Um…. Talk about testing the waters to see if you’d rake in enough money. She clearly was told to ask that. These people are disgusting
To think of all the writers out there who have emails unread by publishers and can’t get their foot in the door. Yet ruby gets hers because of the fans, gross
Yup... to quote her ranty rant: "EVERYTHING ELSE COMES SECOND (including YouTube, which I cannot and will not rely on for book sales; I just can't let myself do that)"Lmao, and goodbye to her pretence that she would not rely on her social media presence for her writing career
She "cannot and will not rely on for book sales; she just won't let herself do this"...for 2-6 weeks.lol she sure got over her scruples about relying on youtube for book sales in record time

petition to add one more option - “yes please, for snark purposes”
wait. ”If I were to publish”? Is she implying she’s considering self-publishing after all?
Wait guys I’ve not been on this thread in a while but have you saw this?
I just googled her book and this post came up
lolol she has to have written that herself, it's so self-congratulatoryWait guys I’ve not been on this thread in a while but have you saw this?

"Desirable vegan cooking creations" Is this an article from an alternate universe?Wait guys I’ve not been on this thread in a while but have you saw this?

I'd assume so too, right up until the point where it's spelled correctly. And Ruby would never call herself a "self-titled" bookworm.lolol she has to have written that herself, it's so self-congratulatory
Wait, so this girl is responsible for a 9 year old going missing and her main concern is her GCSE coursework? Ice cold lmfaoWait guys I’ve not been on this thread in a while but have you saw this?

I can’t stand uncarley, she seems to just talk about the same 10 books all the time and every single review of hers is either ‘this book is for mentally ill women’ ‘this book is toxic/unhinged’ or ‘this book is a red flag’ lmfaouncarley, sally thames and EKG are my faves but they don't really read YA
The Police: "A nine year-old girl is missing and it's your fault, Lottie."Wait, so this girl is responsible for a 9 year old going missing and her main concern is her GCSE coursework? Ice cold lmfao
The wording of the blurb is incredibly clunky imo. "Cleans so much she could be a professional" sounds so bad to me.Wait guys I’ve not been on this thread in a while but have you saw this?

Right? The Police: "A nine year-old girl is missing and it's your fault, Lottie."
Lottie:

Lottie Parton's got homework to submit, she can't be worrying about every child under her care.
Even if Ruby had this intention I doubt it was going to fly with an agent / potential publishers. A family friend who was a journalist got a book deal recently and her whole twitter became about her book, because her publisher told her it had to. Even if you have a minor online presence (she has around 1000 followers on twitter) you're expected to use it to push initial sales.Remember the whole “I want to be a published author because of the quality of my writing” shtick and “YouTube won’t come into it”.
Now it’s so obvious she’s using her influencer status to push her book sales, gauge interest and try and get a foot in the door. She knows full well that no one would buy her book, nor would she even be in the position to get it published if she wasn’t Ruby Granger the YouTuber. Trying to say she wants to do it all off her own back is so disingenuous.
Publish your book under a pseudonym, Ruby. Then we’ll really see if you can get people to enjoy your book when they don’t know it’s you and you can’t get that YouTube credit. Exactly what you want, right?
Literally, where does this 9 year old even come into it? Is it her sister, her mate? I know blurbs are short but she is really giving us nothing there. The wording of the blurb is incredibly clunky imo. "Cleans so much she could be a professional" sounds so bad to me.
Right?
If you want to explore an over-achiever suddenly struggling with expectations and perfectionism you can do that without bringing in missing 9 year olds and serious crimes lmao
