Long time lurker here. I was in Oxford on Tuesday seeing waitress and saw Ruby in the theatre. I spotted her sister first because of the wig, and then saw Ruby. She looked like such a child, following her sister around. When she walked past the bar she dawdled, almost looking whistfully at all the food and drink - it was strange! What I’m confused about is the fact she didn’t label it #ad? She was in the section of the bar cordoned off for ‘press’ / invited guests as it was the press night, and you got complementary drinks, snacks and programmes there. Why didn’t she put gifted on her socials? Then at the end I was waking behind her and her sister and mum heading towards the car park and her sister was smoking - I wonder what ruby thinks of that!

Ruby Granger would definitely by bullied/ostracised by most of her peers for her sense of superiority, unfortunate dress sense and sanctimonious attitude
I am very surprised nobody bullied her out of her attitude during high school--- her peers even made her head girl lol

If she had gone to a comprehensive or even grammar school, her high school years would be very different

I'm willing to bet head girl was decided on by teachers, not pupils. There's no way kids would make someone that insufferable head girl. Either that or she wasn't "bullied" as badly as she claims

I think that, (I could be projecting), but I think that the extent that Ruby was bullied at school might have been a bit more teasing from her classmates and I think that she might have been just left out/excluded from things her own age. I think that Ruby might have brought it on herself (sounds cruel as no one deserves to be bullied), but I can see her acting quite childishly and a bit snobby around her classmates and I feel like she would remind the teacher that there was homework to be handed in. I think I read something either from here or from Gurugossip or I made it up, that she would spend time with younger pupils- probably to turn them into mini Ruby's.

I do think that if she was badly bullied I think that she'd would have got a teacher to deal with it and Mother Granger would be right on it judging with how doting she is of Ruby now. I could be wrong though.

I did use to have a bit of a soft spot for Ruby as I could see myself as a teenager in her a bit when I first started watching her videos. I always kind of her saw her as someone who just wasn't sure how to fit in with other students and was probably a bit lonely at school.

A lot of the kids who are left out or behind their peers on social development scale go on to develop a superiority complex as a coping mechanism. Pretty much any alternative kid in m/hs has a "people at my school are all stupid I don't need them" attitude.
The goth community, the emo kids back in the day, the Vampire Freaks kids, all of them live their lives online to find people they can mimic a friendship with as a cope for not being popular irl and they go on to frame it as ~nobody around me shares my uber special interests\I'm too deep that must be why I can't have friends~ .

I bet she was (and still is) extremely annoying and thought too highly of herself. A perfect proof of that is erimenthol who she based after herself, as well as her admiration for the 1st year hermione, i.e. when she was the most annoying and insufferable.

I found a copy of Erimentha Parker out in the wild 👀. Generously priced for 99p in a charity shop.
A decade from now after the hit documentary "World's Worst Youtubers," produced and directed by @gossip_guy, comes out, this will be a priceless collector's item! I hope you bought it now before the price skyrockets.

"one of the greatest hardships for schoolchildren: bullying" hmm yes maybe at a fancy private school but a lot of kids have far bigger issues than a bit of teasing in class, like oh I don't know, poverty? broken families? social services? of course bullying is awful for kids that go through it, but it just shows how incredibly out of touch Rupert is.

I get what you’re saying, but individual life experience is alway individual and it’s seldom helpful or even appropriate to compare. (Or generalize, as Roobee does!) I know having a teacher tell me to snap out of my anorexia because there are people in the world who are actually starving wasn’t useful to anyone, idk maybe I’m just overly sensitive 🙃

You’re not overly sensitive, your teacher is an mole. I hope you’re okay, anorexia is horrible ❤

Another study with me and 1) she’s blurred some of the shots that show her essay printouts (hi Roobee, hi!) and 2) she shares a paragraph she had to cut 🥺🥺🥺 and either it makes absolutely no sense at all or I’m dense? Something about muses wanting to get paid, boohoo? Anyway she’s still doing a fuckton of editing considering it’s supposedly her final draft, and this is the chapter she’s supposedly happy with.

I know she said she was treating April 30th as her ”internal deadline” (lol) even though the actual deadline is on Thursday, but let’s be real - if she was actually finished early, we would’ve heard about it.

edit: ”Final” draft, people and gentlepeeps:

Just going back to her first mini video from a couple days ago, why in the heck is she even thinking that hard about “raising your mark by five points” in an entirely essay based subject 🤦🏽‍♀️

Maybe this is just me, but there’s just so much less pressure on your self when writing essays if you just think about the ten mark bands because that’s what the marking schemes are written in and everyone should be doing the basics of 1) idea 2) structure 3) highlighting your argument vs critics 4) grammar, punctuation etc to get a “good” mark and then you build on feedback from each essay - yes of course some conversations were worded as “this is losing you marks” or “you could gain some marks by doing this” but they were predominantly focused on specifically the “quality of the essay” or the “strength of the argument” to get students into the next band (from 2:2 to 2:1 or from 2:1 to first), things you can’t really quantify in points like Ruby seems fixated on doing - I never met anyone doing English who thought in specific numbers of marks especially in relation to an essay they were in the process of writing

Also interesting that at the end of that video she started mentioning her specific number of subscribers for the first time in ages at the same time as Jack mentioned at the end of his last video that he’s nearly reaching a million subscribers, could be coincidence of course just found it interesting

I assume the muse and artist debate is about Carrol and Alice Liddel (think I've mis spelled that)...I can see why she cut it out tbf how is the relationship between artist and muse at all relevant to the topic of letters. She doesn't close to being done yet I'm stressed just thinking about it

I really want to know what her argument is overall - I'm really not sure how she's been able to think of anything useful or relevant, past linking it to a wider literary context (which is just basic level stuff tbh)
