I’m guessing they all got a plus-one and brought their parents because they’re more likely to be interested in the film. To be fair, of the three of them Ruby is the one with the most interest in ‘history’ but I can think of loads more people who would be more suitable. If it was a costume thing then Bernadette Banner’s the obvious one, she’s London-based and far more of an expert on historical costume than Ruby, Jack or Jade. The recent Netflix thing Ruby somehow got invited to just screams that Sixteenth have managed to bag a contract with some fairly legit PR agency and are just throwing their ‘talent’ at anything to see if any of them stick.
Definitely, I could see Bernadette Banner or Rachel Maksy (obviously not London-based, but the kind of influencer I'd think of when I think of costume design/historical clothing content) being a great fit for that kind of event. A booktuber who doesn't read, a charity thief with a worrying interest in Victorian children and an airheaded MLM cult member don't exactly fit the assignment.

But the event was focused entirely on the costume designer of the show. Like, why the duck would these three be a suitable fit for that? They aren't history buffs. They aren't fashion vloggers. Fashion victims, maybe.
Exactly. I can't think what any of them are getting out of the arrangement tbh.

Agree about the pronunciation of foreign names, but it should be mentioned that Ruby's pronunciation of English words is also rubbish. 😆

I highly doubt Ruby Granger watched six seasons of Downton Abbey since she can’t get through one episode of tv #fakefan

I'll have you know that Ruby is watching them all in ten minute sections whilst also reading and trampolining at the same time

This has puzzled me for a while. I get that some people aren't TV fans, but Roob's explanation makes it sound as though her problem is lack of concentration. If she can't concentrate for more than 10 minutes on a TV episode then I wonder how she can manage marathon study sessions - or any studying, for that matter.

Hello, first post, still figuring how Tattle works!
One thing which has been on my mind a lot is how angry it makes me that Ruby refuses to grow up. I have disabilities and I would love to be able to do all the things she has money and capabilities for! The fact that she doesn't use her money to try anything new when some of us would adore to do that, just makes me so mad.

I'm surprised Ruby doesn't talk about Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children more, because that's exactly what she's doing. She's pretending to live in the past era as a special child forever under her guardian's protection in a sheltered place. Exactly how the peculiars lived many years.

I’d guess that’s why she’s so obsessed with breaking up all her tasks into little steps and then scheduling them tightly. The problem is, she doesn’t frame it as what it really is - a difficulty concentrating - but instead, makes it out to be the height of efficiency for everyone, and highlights long study days and to-do lists. She probably hopes people will think she can maintain concentration for hours on end while studying, but TV is just so uninteresting that her ”brilliant mind” wearies of it after ten minutes.

I think she thinks tv is beneath her. That claiming she doesn’t watch it, or only very small chunks, makes her superior to those lazy, unproductive mortals. She hates tv as much as she loves reading 🙄

I can picture Ruby's thoughts when she was looking at the outfits
It goes something like I could wear that with a boater and tennis shoes

Yes but think how great they'd be as a crime fighting trio

I mean, that's a fourth-rate supervillain team if there ever was one.

Ruby would quickly locked up after she tries to scam Bruce Wayne into donating 10% of his wealth to help her build Holocaust memorials in underfunded state schools around Gotham. Jack wouldn't get much crime done, he'd be too distracted spending most of his time staring at himself in the mirror, with brief breaks to make videos "reviewing" books that he saw Aquaman standing near in a paparazzi photo. And Jade would get tossed straight into Arkham Asylum for being nuttier than a squirrel curd.

Has Ruby twirled out of the field of macademia and become lost in the deep dark woods of TV series and movies being her ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE THING?

Rubes, you have said multiple times before that you only consume cinematic content in strictly timed aliquots, although seems like that's only true if it's not GiFtEd, apparently...

And Ruby has said on several occasions that she has an overwhelming dislike of books with teen relationships, teen romance and genuine teen drama, or pretty much any YA fiction that isn't just gifted wealthy children getting bullied for being too smart, to the point where she'll just skim over it all (not that she actually reads much else, either).

Now she's claiming she'll rush to read a book featuring all of the above, after supposedly watching and loving the TV show, despite never usually watching TV shows unless paid to pretend to?

Edit: I mean, it's a short read. It has pictures and everything. Ruby knew she was going to the premiere and this self-proclaimed bookworm couldn't even bother reading any of it prior to the screening, especially since the author was there to speak? She couldn't look more like a transparent fake if she tried.

I can’t believe that Ruby and Jack Edwards got invited to a screening that Alice Oseman said was for LGBTQ+ Influencers. So proud of them! (Jk)

Seriously... I have Heartstopper and if she cared enough she could've read it in an hour. Pure lazyness and ignorance.

It's okay, Sixteenth made Eve Cornwell attend so there was one token queer person in the group of Studytuber duds, even though she's pivoted to ripped-off legal content and a book and a Netflix series aren't in any way relevant to her content.

All of these Netflix screenings are too much, it’s ridiculous. Heart stopper is definitely not Ruby’s jam anyway! A kids tv show set in modern times, about a teen romance? That’s absolutely not her vibe :ROFLMAO: I suppose I can see why Jack would go, he reviews a lot of those tiktok famous books that are popular with teenagers. So it’s sort of relevant to him.

At this point Ruby’s management would send her to the opening of a packet of crisps!! How many premieres in a week??
