As a huge musical theatre fan I can say 1) I’m very surprised she went to see Waitress given it’s a Rom-com about romance but also touched on abusive relationships, infidelity, tough lives, young motherhood, having to work hard in a diner job to just get by and 2) I will tell anyone for free that I have no bloody clue what that outfit it it looks literally nothing like anything from the show 🙃 even down to the colours of the show’s marketing are blue and pink

I think that it actually is a published piece called 'The Shape Shifting Storyteller' (you can find it here) https://lup.lub.lu.se/student-papers/search/publication/1776537 . No idea why it has 'Final Version before PDF' in the title.
I'm still curious to see if Ruby will share anymore of her essay/dissertation though.
I don’t know whether to be disappointed or relieved that this isn’t hers 😂 Although from the other snippets we’ve seen, her writing probably isn’t any better, which is why it was so easy to believe.

Considering she doesn't have the stress and pressures of the average student (I.e. Going to work to afford rent because student finance doesn't cover all, travelling to see your family over holidays etc. because she lives with them, even having time to go out with friends because she literally has none and doesn't socialise with others at all) she is doing a shit job of this diss.

If I was her while I was doing my dissertation I'd have it done wayyy quicker. She's such an ignorant idiot. Unaware of how lucky and privelaged she is. Just the fact that she's making money through YouTube, not even considering that she was born in a gold cap because her parents are rich.

Not sure of it's me but that hat looks far too big for her head, makes it look like she has a loaf of bread on her head 😅. Just looks like it would just fall off at any moment as it's perched on her head than her actually wearing it.
She looks like a mushroom

This is really minor, but did anyone else notice that she only types using her index finger? It must take her ages to write anything if she doesn’t touch type 🤯
Lol I basically do it too, I use like a couple fingers per hand and my thumbs and little fingers occasionally. I was never formally taught to touch type in school, then I tried teaching myself a couple years back but ultimately I don't think I need to learn it, I can still type fairly quickly (it's not like I need to look for the keys on the keyboard) and for my purposes it's enough even though it makes me look dumb lol

Her whole rambling about muses actually made me think there is a great essay in there somewhere. The change from the active to the passive muse and how they were not being paid could make an interesting research question and/or a feminist discussion of intellectual property of women or art as a social process rather than individual achievement.
Of course none of this is even remotely relevant to her ACTUAL research and dissertation. This, again, is the perfect example of going on tangents and doing all of them half-assed instead of focussing on one thorough argument.
Is it too late for her to change her title? 😂

I read this in her voice.

We're all assuming that a 'draft' means what it normally means, but there's every chance that this is a Rubyism and all she's doing is putting a semi-colon where a full stop had been.
My thoughts exactly! Because I refuse to believe she has written more than 70.000 words overall, which she would have if she has written out seven full drafts... that would be almost as long as the first Harry Potter book, I think... That would be a ridiculous amount of work, and a truly bizarre waste of time, surely not even Ruby would be stupid enough to do this??

How are her parents not intervening? Are they in denial? Their daughter has an ED is embarrassing herself worldwide!
No amount of money is worth that

Have you guys ever tried to get in touch with 16th and her parents to report ruby's worrying ED and mental state?
Her parents are totally enabling her ED. In one of her "daily study with mes" Ruby mentioned that she went swimming with her dad which I found kind of sad given that all Ruby cares about at this point is exercise and consuming as little food as possible.

Would she lie about getting a first on her dissertation? Has she been lying about her essay grades?

Yeah, I can't imagine undergrad dissertations being published unless it's a first which we all know won't be the case for Roobee.

For my MA at UCL we were given a contract of sorts basically saying whether or not we wished to have it published/shown to future students as examples/etc.

So I doubt we'll ever see Roobees dissertation...shame
I remember having to fill in a form for my undergrad saying whether I was happy to have it shown as an example, but as far as I know my uni didn't do anything else with UG dissertations

My MA course hasn't indicated whether they'll be putting them anywhere, but it seems potentially likely? My MA is already way better than my BA though and it's only been a year

What if she does get a first? I’ve realised I must be a horrible person because I don’t want her to. How awful is that?
It's not awful, I think to some extent we've seen Ruby go through three years of uni (technically four) and she hasn't grown as a person, she's still the same person she was when she was at high school. She'll be upset if she does badly, but it'll probably be better for her in the long run if she fails/gets below first (although the two are probably the same to her).

Everyone needs that moment of 'oh shit I'm not special' (as an ex-gifted kid myself, mine is either when
I was sat in A&E for thirteen hours by myself and realised that the only person that was going to help me was me
or when I got rejected from Oxford back in 2017. I don't wish anything bad on Ruby, but doing badly on her dissertation might actually improve her as a person in the long run. Give her more perspective, and hopefully show her that there's life outside of studying that she's missed out on

Would this be the laptop screen that she disinfects every single day? It's the biggest irony that someone whose entire brand is built around 'productivity' manages to live in such a state of disorganised chaos.
She's so "productive" she has no time for basic hygiene or even taking 20 seconds to wipe off a filthy laptop screen.

To be fair Jamie Oliver does this too I've seen a number of his videos where he suggests rubbing garlic on the bread to give it a garlic taste. Never done it myself but it must work if Jamie Oliver does it!
I might be the weird one but I grew up eating garlic toast made this way. If you toast the bread, it can work as a grater when you rub the garlic on it, then you put some butter or olive oil on it and you got a quick garlic bread.

Notice the tiny (gifted event) text in the top right. That said, I do agree that it's good to see her out of her comfort zone, trying something new.

Is this the critical essay she was talking about? Are they usually organised with headings (unless this is just for her use as she writes and she's going to get rid of it)?

She seems to be doing a lot of retelling and summarising, something the tutors on my English Lit course routinely remind us isn't needed in our essays and it wastes valuable space for analysis.

As someone who has literally just submitted three critical essays I know for a fact that they're not supposed to have headings, headings are commonly used in bigger pieces of work like a dissertation. Since this is the introduction of her essay, retelling and summarising is fine at this point but she shouldn't be doing it in the rest of her essay as that's where she should be analysing and close reading the text she has chosen to write about.

She looks so much healthier in that video too - her skin is clearer and her hairline looks better. She looks so gaunt and unwell now in comparison.

I only skipped through it but that video seems so much more dynamic and normal than her current "I got up and did this for forty minutes, then I went to the library for fifteen minutes, then I went to a cafe for twenty minutes, then I went home for half an hour, then I walked to trampolining and stayed for thirty five minutes, then I washed up for ten minutes".
I agree, seeing her actually interact with other humans (and animals, she actually acknowledges her dogs here) is refreshing in comparison to her current content

She's either never figured out how cameras work or she’s just that self-absorbed. Whenever she takes mirror photos, she smiles at the phone in her hand rather than looking in the mirror at the lens:

She does this every time.
Sorry, I can't tell - is that a five-year-old flower girl at a wedding wearing the outfit her parents picked out for her, or a soon-to-be college graduate?

Not that it would necessarily be the best thing for her anyway, but I’m surprised she hasn’t started planning what Masters she’ll do? Quite a lot of my friends started their application in third year, and they had a life beyond studying :)
I believe she got disillusioned and gave up on going further, she just doesn't want to admit it. So far she sticks to claiming she wants to take a gap year.

She's a parody of herself 🤣

I dread to think people wasted their money in the "book" she published.

The art of writing is that of writing concisely while conveying a clear point in an innovative way. I.e. Making the reader look/feel at/about something in a different way. I feel bad for her because she clearly learnt nothing during the 4 years at uni and wasted her time.

There was a brief window of hope for Ruby's future until I learned she brought her tailcoat along on the red carpet. :ROFLMAO:

The fairest thing I can say is that it wouldn't be the strangest thing someone's worn on a red carpet:
