mid she’s going to keep it long it would even be prefersble if she wore it in braids. Like it would be childish but at least be tidy?
a High bun or even double buns would be cute and more age appropriate
A braided bun would be nice with that length, it would even fit with her attempt to follow the DA aesthetic

"The English dissertation is an 8,000-word extended essay where students shape a distinctive research project in consultation with a member of academic staff."(found that on the Exeter website btw).

I genuinely can't understand how it took her a YEAR to write 8,000 words? I obviously understand it takes time to write, but a whole year and she is still making edits to it??
I know with my dissertation we had to start thinking about any potential topics at the very end of our second year so if Ruby had to do the same then technically she has been working on it for around a year, but 'working on it' doesn't necessarily mean writing it and from what we have seen it looks like she has been writing her dissertation for the past 3-4 months at max, not a WHOLE year like she claims. I mean it took her a good six months to choose a damn topic so there is absolutely no way she has been writing it for a year.

This not only rings alarm bells for me, im not quite sure it’s allowed? When u was doing the same degree at the same Uni, we were only allowed 2 official meetings with our supervisor (usually pre and post submission of our 1000 words formative assessment).

I can only conclude that either
a) the rules have changed
b) she’s not telling the truth
c) her tutor is really concerned about the direction of her dissertation
d) she’s somehow convinced her tutor to give her preferential treatment…
I'm on the last stages of my dissertation but I've had about six/ seven meetings (my last one is actually today ironically) since September when we started these and we've had dissertation workshops as well to discuss what we are doing and things like primary sources -though it was a waste of time. Everyone in the year got the same amount of meetings and it might be different with each university though.

I try not to wish failure on anyone but I really hope she gets a third and realises she's not special
Her video quality has become worse (worse than normal) the closer we're getting to her dissertation being due. I think she's really nervous about it. We'll know she did poor if she doesn't upload an OTT video reacting to her dissertation results. Or she'll make one that's obviously fake to appease her audience. She needs a third to humble her though.

I can't wait to see her do a masters :ROFLMAO:

sounds perfect for roobee to begin with, but then she realises that she's completely on her own and has a breakdown

The frozen peas are back

What a pointless video.

Wow, the way she annotates is so jumbled and confusing

"I was feeling a bit foggheaded..."

Ruby, you're always foggyheaded.

I don't want to try and diagnose her with anything, but as an autistic woman around her age it seems pretty likely to me that she has it. Obviously every autistic person is different but like her, it took me a lot longer than my peers to grow up and become more independent. I also have extremely poor organisational skills and easily lose track of household tasks. It's quite sad really because I can't even imagine how much harder it would have been for me growing up if I'd been broadcasting my entire life to the internet. I wish that she'd quit being an influencer and just spend time privately figuring out who she is as a person. She surely doesn't need the extra money, she can afford to take time out.

As a huge musical theatre fan I can say 1) I’m very surprised she went to see Waitress given it’s a Rom-com about romance but also touched on abusive relationships, infidelity, tough lives, young motherhood, having to work hard in a diner job to just get by and 2) I will tell anyone for free that I have no bloody clue what that outfit it it looks literally nothing like anything from the show 🙃 even down to the colours of the show’s marketing are blue and pink
I don't see why it's surprising that she went to see it? Just because she has a very sheltered life herself doesn't mean she wouldn't be interested in a show about different experiences🤷 I've never fought in a revolution myself yet Les Mis is my all time favourite show🤷

The breakfast looked rather good and I was amazed that she was eating a rather normal-sized portion but she added the peas to it. I find the forcing herself to smile in the morning to be rather deranged, any idea if it actually works? I didn't like how ASMR-ish that video was with the loud sounds.

There was a big discussion in Eve's thread before she came out as gay accusing her of queerbaiting, which was incredibly frustrating. I think there's an issue of assuming that traditionally good-looking, effeminate women or female-presenting people are straight because that's the way the male gaze is coded. I don't think it does any good to say that Ruby is or is not LGBTQ+, unless she comes out specifically saying she is one way or the other. It's an incredibly personal issue and I wouldn't want to be the contributing factor to forcing someone to come out just so they don't come across as queerbaiting or pretending to be gay when they're not.
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate you taking the time to explain about OCD & your experience around LGBT issues. I'm a bi woman and accusations of queerbaiting are frequently directed towards bisexual people.

There's been a lot of speculation about Ruby's sexual orientation/possible asexuality and I understand why people are curious, but honestly she's never brought it up publically so there's no way for us to tell. 🤷‍♀️ I also think we might be reading too much into her choice of literature; these have all been popular books lately (and remember she's writing a YA novel), so it wouldn't surprise me if she's jumping on the bandwagon with the MLM romance trend.

Not gonna lie, as a lonely lesbian, this spoke to me. 😂 It’s quite poetic andI liked the video style.
I hated the slow mo ending, a bit too dramatic.
In overall sweet but super wanna be deep teenager style. Not to mention I would never post something like that online for everyone to see.
Still much better content than Ruby's and that says a lot.

Her whole rambling about muses actually made me think there is a great essay in there somewhere. The change from the active to the passive muse and how they were not being paid could make an interesting research question and/or a feminist discussion of intellectual property of women or art as a social process rather than individual achievement.
Of course none of this is even remotely relevant to her ACTUAL research and dissertation. This, again, is the perfect example of going on tangents and doing all of them half-assed instead of focussing on one thorough argument.
Nah I don't think she is capable of realising sth like that. She only mentioned it because she read it somewhere by chance and wanted to show off her "extra knowledge" no matter how useless for the actual thesis topic it is. Either way her writing is basically rewriting what someone else wrote, she's uncapable of any original thought or argument.

It's very clear she hates what she does and is fed up with it.
It's normal to not love your degree or your job 100% of the time even though you do enjoy what you do. No matter how much you love it, all jobs are hard.
But you can't struggle so much while working, need so many strategies and tricks to force yourself to go on, end up not doing much anyway, and still think it's normal, you love your degree and you're not burnt out.
It would be much better for everyone, Ruby included, if she just admitted she's struggling and stopped pretending that everything is fine.
I couldn't agree more. The videos give me very creepy vibes with those outfits, who in their right mind, wears such stuff when studying,

She looks like a deranged aunt at someone’s wedding
the legs are missing at this point, how thin you have to be..

her head is officially bigger than her body. but her face doesnt look sunken like it does in videos? i wonder if it's all lighting and filters on her vlogs to make herself look victorian exhaustion ill
It may also be due to make up, lighting and the camera that was used to take that photo.

Omg I just came to the comments to write about the noise of the cup. :ROFLMAO: Only 0:04 seconds in and thud of it being slammed onto the table literally made me jump.
Sorry for coming back to this point, but I just realised what it reminded me of: Jurassic Park dinosaur footprints! Does anyone remember how cartoony dinosaurs would always come with that THUD. THUD. THUD. sound effect whenever their feet touched the ground? Yep, somehow Ruby slammed her cup down with such force it sounded like a T-Rex from the '90s.

Skimming through that video a second time and it doesn't look very comfortable. While Ruby's lucky to have the outside space (& the birdsong is nice), the sun is bright enough for her to need sunglasses, yet she doesn't move to somewhere more shaded? Also, the chair's too far from the table (notice how she's sitting right on the edge) and the table itself isn't really the type designed for studying, so she's forced to do the laptop hunch.

For someone who claims to AAAAHHLWAYS use sun cream and makes a big deal of only using the mostest delicatest baby cream for her baby skin, she sure was looking burnt the other day.

I'm watching the newest video and I was wondering what one earth did she make her mum for breakfast?

I just love how everything is Ruby's favourite if she is being sponsored by it. It is such a pet peeve of mine but I had how she (and other book influencers)just do that thing where they flick through the pages of the book, just show me the cover of it! I don't want to see pages!
