Ruby looks so frail in that picture. The jacket is way too big for her - I get the impression she likes wearing stuff like that because it makes her look smaller?

I'd say she looks like a kid borrowing her mum's clothes, but she has said she does share a lot of clothes with her mum, which probably explains why she looks like a middle-aged Tory councillor any time she tries to dress in something approaching formalwear.

The assignment is 2,000 words, so basically she wrote the essay and then wrote another essay’s worth of drivel which she then ended up having to cut. Smart planning there, Roodawakening.

I’m sad too, Roobee - sad that you cut that absolute gem of a first sentence, ”While third and first person narratives are rife…” I see we’ve been throwing darts at a thesaurus again and missing the mark eeeever so slightly 😂🤦

That coffee post has got to be an ad, I swear Ruby has talked about not drinking caffeine before so only money would get her to go back on that. Also didn't she eat a coffee bean in a really deranged way in a vlog not so long ago?
I don't recall the coffee bean incident, but I do remember when she made Blakeney swap flavoured teas because Ruby's contained two coffee beans and she thought it would ruin her sleep.

It's weird though because tea also contains caffeine, albeit a lower quantity than most coffees.

I honestly don’t know how she’s managed it. I guess she really does frolic in the muddy fields and then sits her grimey ass on a white chair. Super gross.
I was going to try to give her the benefit of the doubt and say maybe it’s the lighting, but that still wouldn’t explain the giant gash in the fabric. How does that even happen after so little time?

Why eat an actual chocolate egg for once, when you have the opportunity to showcase how very little you eat by just using flavoured fucking water for your half-portion of porridge? Oh and don’t forget beetroot and other weight-loss aids!

You can tell from her response to being called out on things like her holocaust project that Ruby is not someone who can accept feedback with grace. Her parents and teachers have done her a disservice in spoiling her and bringing her up to believe she’s always right.

And yes, her clothes are weird

She's so "productive" she has no time for basic hygiene or even taking 20 seconds to wipe off a filthy laptop screen.
Along with the horrifying lack of hygiene, I still can't wrap my head around the sheer stupidity that leads someone to constantly poke and prod at every inch of a laptop screen which has no touchscreen functionality.

EDIT: Are there any rules that say you're not allowed to share what your dissertation is about? The only explanation for such a lack of an overarching argument that I can think of (other than Ruby being Ruby, which seems good enough to me) is that she's choosing not to share, for one reason or another.
As far as I know, none at all. When Jack Edwards did his video about his dissertation I remember him saying quite a lot about his argument. Me and my friends used to all swap dissertations pre-submission for proof reading, and to get inspiration for structure if we were struggling. The topics of people's dissertations were spoken about pretty casually in seminars as well. Sometimes I wonder if Ruby refusing to say anything about her dissertation content harks back to the primary school attitude of "Someone else might steal my idea!".

Ruby searched the grounds of her estate for hours and hours, but was unable to find any dissertation ideas. Or her marbles.

She's been back home a couple of weeks and already half her content is her playing dress-up in her yard like a deranged child. The only trip she's taking in her gap year is off the deep end.
Yeah I'm sure Jane Eyre wore her hair in a low ponytail held together by a scrunchie too

Seriously that hair makes me sad. Even a braid or a bun is too far outside of her comfort zone apparently

Is she dressing this way to troll tattlers, or has she actually lost it? She looks dreadful, also the fucking tailcoat again

Shouldn't there have been some period of absence from the public eye or some change in your life before you go making a life update video? She hasn't graduated yet and her time at home has been spent doing the same shit she always does.

Ruby says she couldn't work as much or as hard as she does, or get the grades that she does if she didn't enjoy it.

This part was so holier-than-thou and left me fuming. Of course Miss Roopleroy is so gifted at studying because she naturally ~enjoys it~. Anyone who doesn’t spend 12 hours straight studying with a smile on their face might just not be cut out for academia. If they don’t enjoy it, why on earth would they do it?

If there’s anything Rubins actually enjoys about studying, it’s the endless praise she’s received from adults for doing the bare minimum to be considered a “gifted student.” She doesn’t like learning or challenging herself, as we’ve witness for years. She just likes recognition.

Her whole rambling about muses actually made me think there is a great essay in there somewhere. The change from the active to the passive muse and how they were not being paid could make an interesting research question and/or a feminist discussion of intellectual property of women or art as a social process rather than individual achievement.
Of course none of this is even remotely relevant to her ACTUAL research and dissertation. This, again, is the perfect example of going on tangents and doing all of them half-assed instead of focussing on one thorough argument.

SEVEN drafts of the dissertation?! Ruby, you're doing it wrong.
This is just a worse version of the time she went three times over the word limit for an essay before cutting it down.
Nobody is going to congratulate her on being incredibly inefficient and creating more unnecessary work for herself.

My masters is now just a complete compendium of letters sent between me and my exes, with a commentary every couple of sentences talking about how each letter was a gift and that each of them squandered that gift 😭

Ruby, your haircut and hairtype is one of the most low-maintenance things you can ask for (which is why it is normally worn by 9-year-olds who cannot be trusted with styling tools). Is it too much to ask that you brush it before posting ootd's on Instagram?

How is she writing an essay about Lemony Snicket and still getting the bloke's name wrong. It's Daniel Handler but she keeps saying David in the video
