Eating disorders aren't solely about appearance, and the red flags that have been raised have only been partially to do with her appearance/weight loss. There's also the constant tiny portions and fixation on food (e.g. stretching out tiny portions by cutting up/elaborately positioning small amounts of food, endless to-do lists related to food), vaguely alluding to health issues and weight loss but refusing to go into specifics, various other isolated signs. There's absolutely no proof or direct confirmation that she does or doesn't have an ED, or whether she's just baiting - opinions on this thread have varied - but behaviours and weight loss are definitely two separate (but related!) components of an eating disorder. She could have genuine symptoms of anorexia or another ED without it necessarily showing in an obvious way on her family's photos. From the pictures she posts with her family and the ones of her in a wetsuit in Devon, she looks like a perfectly healthy 21 year old.
I know someone who actually faked an ED, he's an absolute overall mole. Ruby is not faking it, she might be dealing with binging outside of her tiny portions.Am I the only one that thinks Ruby doesn't have an ED? From the pictures she posts with her family and the ones of her in a wetsuit in Devon, she looks like a perfectly healthy 21 year old. She's probably not quite right in the head though in the sense perhaps she wishes she had an ED and puts up a persona around "having" an ED - i.e. ED baiting.
So he's already at a higher reading age than Ruby. Thanks parents and also has new peppa books to read which I'm not mad about as I think books are a good thing to have
During my ED and subsequent “recovery” (I say this, because true recovery didn’t start until I left that world behind) I followed quite a lot of people on the tumblr/IG “recovery community” (nite continued use of air quotes!)anyone else notice in Martha's instagram story, Ruby is the only one that doesn't have food
re: Ruby’s appearance, I agree with what someone else just wrote, that often what we talk about isn’t appearance related. Additionally, I want to highlight a specific area of her appearance that I often pick up on - and others do - which could be true at any weight! Her face, namely her eyes and skin.Am I the only one that thinks Ruby doesn't have an ED? You're not wrong. This is exactly what she does and it's been proven many times at this point. One thing I have noticed in a few of Ruby’s videos now, is that she will have a breakfast of porridge/cereal and then the next clip will show her having toast for a ‘second breakfast’ or morning snack because she was “still hungry.” I really struggle to believe this.
mid be interested to see if she’s wearing the same outfit, because we know that she mixes around footage from different times/days and I widely suspect this is the case. I could be wrong, obviously, but it all reminds me too much of what this girl did; and many others, I must add! I just vividly remember her because of how performative her content seemed.
I'm also not able to see it. Please could you post a link to it?It still shows up for me, it was put up 11 hours ago
I wouldn’t be surprised if she honestly believes that the Ruby Granger she presents in those videos is the "true Ruby". Those fictitious days in her life are how she would live every single day, if not for those pesky external factors that always in the way. But those aren’t her fault, because how can she help it if the library doesn’t have the book she needs for her course, or she doesn’t feel like reading book XYZ today, or the essay question was totally unfair, or Notion crashed, or her parents come into her room to ask such inane questions as if Ruby could please clean up her room, or she can’t find the right aesthetic for the notes she wants to rewrite for the third time, or … You know, things that never happen to anyone else, only to Ruby. So really, she isn’t lying, she is the queen of productivity! It’s just that the world always gets in her way specifically. Cutting together footage from several days is fair play to level out the playing field. That and it allows her to show herself accomplishing more in a day than anyone else physically can, because it was actually shot over a month.
All of this. Thank you for the dedication to de-constructing the lies. Her latest video is one of the few occasions that she's made some tiny degree of effort to keep some amount of consistency in her outfit changes between footage, or was careful to only use footage from 2-3 days rather than the usual 6+, but she still ducks up. She wears the same dress, but the footage flits back and forth between her wearing a dark brown button-up cardigan and a black V-neck pullover on top of the dress - she no doubt thought that'd be close enough to fool everyone.
You'll also notice that despite mentioning having toast after her nightmare courgette breakfast concoction, she doesn't even bother with the now obligatory shot of her taking a single, disgusting, grimacing bite before cutting away, undoubtedly after she dumped the rest in the bin. Guaranteed, she never ate any of it, and she always uses the same toast plate to aid in including quick insert shots of previous days' breakfasts.
First shot is her "making her bed", which is her usual process of dumping all her pillows on the dirty, dusty ground, not changing (or even adjusting) her bedsheets, half-assedly shifting her duvet (the same penguin cover she's had on for half the year) and then throwing all the filthed-up pillows back on the bed, ready to sleep on. What a disgusting cretin.
Claims to be reading "A Picnic on Hanging Rock". As well as bleeping up the name, this is a book she claimed to finish on July 28th, which gives an idea how old this footage is.
"I want to get a lot of stuff done today." Immediately starts wasting time on making timetables for the day rather than actually doing anything productive.
She qualifies wrapping a birthday present for a friend and writing birthday cards as "admin", showing yet again that she treats the few friendships she has like tasks to be completed.
Of course, then her outfit changes completely, and she makes a note to point out that it's because of an unseen "bike ride" that no doubt never happened. Always be suspicious when she makes excuses for something trivial like that - methinks the dimwit liar doth protest too much. They have an off-screen family meal that, again, likely never happened and no food is shown, then Ruby shows a disgusting small bowl of some kind of sludge with a few banana slices in, which is presumably her actual meal.
It's a "day in the life" video that's equal parts lies and exposition as Ruby tells us about the day that happened off-screen rather than showing it (likely because it didn't happen).
I’m sure there’s an Unjaded Jade rave thread you could hop along tobut that's not what it is saying, is it? i never saw anyone saying this, that they have to love EVERY little thing? like you stubbed your toe and it hurts and that sucks, but maybe you saw a beautiful sunset ten minutes later and then that is your "casual magic" moment of the day
I'm hoping that's pure sarcasm.
