The Four Seasons poetry collection. All I learned about it from her is that its poems 'curated around a theme of poems for each season, which is a great idea'. A. Great. Idea. That's marketing type talk. Not artistic appreciation. Ruby and her dustcore is such a bore. I strongly advise her to keep the dust jackets ON. She mentioned taking them off for the aesthetic.

Guys I'm confused...
Why is she making excuses for not reading The Song of Achilles? She did say in her IG story that she doesn't like it, doesn't understand the hype around it. And now she says she would love to read it but didn't have a Greek phase?? Did you not have to read the Greek Mythology? It's the basis for human nature is it not?
Fair enough if she started to read it but didn't like it, I was not a fan either. But why say she'd love to read it when she doesn't, and did state this earlier. Maybe she git IG backlash, who knows...

She's saying how everyone had a greek mythology phase. I dont remember having a greek mythology phase. I remember being taught a few stories of greek mythology but I don't remember diving into it deeply.

Evuh-lyn (Eev-lyn is how the masculine name is pronounced) and she added an N to the last name so Wawn to rhyme with yawn.

I reckon Ruby will only have 1 more year of Youtube left because I can’t see her being relatable after uni. She’ll probably keep her Instagram for aesthetic posts, probably reaching new followers there from time to time.
She will one day have to get a job.

I noticed that she uses cropped pictures with her back-to-school thumbnails, barely recognised her. Do you guys think she does this to attract new young subscribers? Because if so, she will quickly find out most people of the under 18 demographic are only on Tiktok and don't watch Youtube anymore. A 15sec video with the list she uses in this video would get her many quick views on Tiktok, plus with the creator fund she could make money with that. I've brought this up before, but the Studytok community is thriving whereas the Studytube community is dying with many old subscribers entering the workplace and failing to attract younger viewers. She either needs to change her brand or continue elsewhere.

the paperlike is honestly really not worth the money it seems to be more of the “fashionable” one to get
i got two screen protectors that imitate paper for half the price of the paperlike, and the reviews were/are so much better!
i think it’s just sad that she doesn’t look into products before buying them, only really getting them if they fit an aesthetic or because other popular people are buying them too

Also question for anyone who knows: how do diss proposals for English at Exeter work? How detailed is it meant to be, and how often do proposals get rejected? Is it necessary for her to be doing as much work on it at this point as she is? When I did mine I literally just had to pop an email to the coordinator saying "this is the area I want to look at" and that was it, I assume Exeter requires more than that?

I didn't/don't study at Exeter, but in my experience generally - dissertation proposals can be rejected for 3 main reasons:
1) The proposal topic is outside of the academic interests of the course (e.g. English Literature) or does not align with the interests of supervising staff and therefore can't be supervised appropriately;
2) The proposal subject requires pre-requisite knowledge or experience of a certain area which the student doesn't have e.g. proficiency in a particular language, prior study in a semi-related area (e.g. history) etc.
3) The proposal describes a project/dissertation which would take too long/too little time to complete given the allocated duration of the dissertation work (because the project's scope is too broad or too niche for example)

Yeah, Sixteenth handled everything for both of them and clearly sourced the cheapest manufacturers possible to maximise their own profits. It's why Jack and Ruby's planners are the exact same cheap and shitty ring-bound planner, and why both "stationery companies" have almost zero selection when it comes to stationery.

Ruby and Jack just nodded at the offer of money and clearly didn't give a shit about quality.
