Tbf, I'm not sure where you got the "hour" from on the timetable. I found the part of the video you meant and I could write that in 2-3 minutes, and it would help me personally. If I don't plan a work day it is easy for me to spend way too long on one task, and just giving a quick estimation of how long each task should take will make me hurry up if I realise it is taking too long.

Notes are meant to be rough. Which is why it's baffling that Ruby somehow took the time to write an incredible long script for her presentation on a platform designed around bulletpoint lists instead of her writing quick, brief pointers to use as speaking points. And her inability to use proper capitalization, grammar, spelling and punctuation wouldn't be an issue if they were confined to a rough set of notes she make for herself, but she does it everywhere.

You might write that list in 2-3 minutes. Most people might. And taking a quick five minutes to make a short to-do list can be incredibly helpful to a lot of people. But Ruby has shown time and time again that she sets aside massive chunks of her day exclusively to list-making and redundant busywork. And it clearly doesn't help her since she immediately complains that she doesn't have enough time for the actual tasks at hand, and she ducks up the things she needs to do as a result.

That video, and all her others, only serve to teach by example what not to do when studying.

She mismanages her time, misunderstands the assignment (or wilfully misinterprets it as an excuse to talk about herself) and screws up her entire presentation. She reveals that she, as a self-claimed bookworm, doesn't bother reading for enjoyment or her own understanding or interpretation of a text, but reads Sparknotes, spoils the plot by reading detailed synopsis and copies massive amounts of notes before even opening the actual book, then complains that she had trouble keeping track of characters in a book she hasn't even read a single page of yet.

She's an indescribable fuckwit, and has no place advising study tips to anyone.

One thing I have never understood is Ruby's desk. It is small, oddly shaped (I think her father did it?) and messy, with stains, etc.. It isn't a very practical desk for a over-achiever, university student. There is little room to spread things out and even less for storage. Now she has that new chair which is far too low for her and it looks like her chin is the same height as the desk! Now I know why all this excess furniture has landed in her room with little practical purpose. She has to constantly move that table around because it is always in the way. Why not just shove the dang thing into the attic and be done with it....or some other random room in their house? If she has so much money, or her family does, why not splurge and get her a decent desk/work space? I loved my dorm room desk. So wide and deep. I ended up buying a large one that I still own because I like all that space for projects, be it study or art related. I could never work properly at such a confined space as her itty bitty desk. Because it matches that crazy itty bitty random shelf her father recently built? Why?? lol

Yeah, she would definitely benefit from having more desk space. In terms on stuff actually on the desk, both her and Holly's setups drive me crazy. They spend the whole day staring at a tiny 13 in screen and typing on that macbook butterfly keyboard everyone hates. In their vlogs, it's obvious that Ruby is constantly going back and forth between windows, and Holly split screens things so they are even tinier than they already were. Like if your whole life revolves around computers, spending some money to renovate your workspace would be a great investment. In Ruby's case, I bet her parents would gladly buy her a fancy external monitor for Christmas if she just asked.

And it wasn't hard for people to find out the exact address. Without thinking, the woman who is afraid to walk beyond her parent's backyard showed the internet her future home. She has a huge following. Who knows what crazy people are out there watching her every move who, if she moved in there, would show up at her door, stalk her, etc.. Seriously, though, this is a good example of the over-sharing she and so many YouTubers do. They are so full of themselves and desperate for "content" they never think about what they are doing or what parts of their life they should really keep private for a myriad of reasons, safety being first. Hopefully she does read this forum, because she made herself a target and ruined that place for herself. Wise up, Ruby. You are not as smart as you thought, are you? Dimwit decision.

She absolutely displayed atrocious time management in that video. Granted, she may not have spent exactly an hour writing her to-do list for the day, but as always, she spent far more time than should ever be needed on unnecessary lists and plans that clearly don't help her in any way. I think you're missing the forest for the very small bonsai tree.

This is a person who wrote her daily schedule in a paper planner, then typed that same schedule into Notion. Redundant busywork and a waste of time. Then she moaned about how she didn't have enough time to do things after wasting lots of it.

This is a person who spent a huge chunk of her day prepping for a presentation by writing an entire script that clearly had nothing to do with the topic at hand. If she'd taken even a minute to reflect on what the subject of the presentation was instead of making everything about herself and her ego, she'd have saved herself a lot of embarassment. Instead she wasted half her day and made an idiot out of herself, then cried like there was no way to see it coming.

This is a person who spent a massive amount of time on that day writing up a summary and character list for a play she hadn't even started reading yet. Cart before horse much? And by "writing up a summary", I mean "copying whole sections from Sparknotes onto Notion". Again, a completely redundant waste of time. Just use Sparknotes outright if you're hellbent on taking shortcuts on your assignment and not reading the play - copying that information from one page to another isn't going to make it any more original. And, again, she complained that she was having trouble remembering the story and characters. You know what usually helps you remember the story and characters in a play? Actually reading the play.

If that's not abysmal time management, I don't know what is. Ruby is a colossal idiot. Her organisational skills are complete and utter tit. That's not suspicion or unfair to her - it's quantifiable fact. But if you're concerned about liars on the internet, there's this person called Ruby Granger who requires all of your attention.

Tbh I hate it. It only looks semi acceptable from outside. It's not cosy at all and not very functional. The entrance is straight to the living room which has a bleeping white carpet. No closet or anything. Super tiny kitchen and giant bedroom compared to that. Idk for her budget I would have expected sth better.

While I agree there is always a possibility someone will find out where you live when you're somewhat popular. Especially when you're not only filming study videos by your desk but also show your general life and surroundings. Sure don't show your house with a street and house no. on it but at the same time if someone really wants to find you they probably would. To avoid that you'd have to have a 100% anonymous channel without any reference to your actual name, area of the country, preferably film in a room in which your friends / acquaintances won't recognise. I mean if you want to keep your privacy you totally can. Thing is when you want to get tit tons of money solely for showing your boring life you need to be ready for disadvantages of that too. What if one of her followers lived in the same village - she could be spotted even in a shop and followed later. Same thing could also happen to someone who is not popular at all but came across some psycho. At the same time Ruby's not even close to the popularity level of celebrities who actually take precautions such as having a gated and guarded properties.

It’s just a joke about her poor time management, not meant to be taken literally. Obviously no one knows exactly how long Ruby took to write it, how on earth could we?

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard it elsewhere and if you google it, it does come up in language pages as something that exists/is used. I thought it was a way to emphasise further that you really like something?

I guess it's like saying "the very best" or something. "Very" is pretty unnecessary and pointless in this case, but people still sometimes use it to emphasize the adjective. I always think it sounds a bit old fashioned/pretentious to use the word "very" in front of these superlatives, maybe that's why Ruby does it so much

They moan and complain that they get doxxed online but in 99% of cases, they‘ve done it themselves and haven’t been careful about what they’ve shared. Exactly, they make it easy to find them, whether it's mentioning the specific area of a city they live in, only showing shops/scenery in a certain district (so it's obvious they live nearby), or showing the view out of their windows. Then it's all surprised-pikachu-face when their address gets leaked. While some people are just going to be naturally curious and would have no ill will behind finding that info, some people aren't going to be so innocent.

It does exist in some other languages, German for example: das Allerbeste (the very best thing/one). There are a lot of expressions like this in German, but they are considered unsophisticated or a little childish. That said, they are fine for social media and informal writing, I'd say.

I suppose I hate "very unique" much more, as it truly makes no sense. I have started ridding my own formal writing of excessive adverbs (like very), because I have noticed how repetitive they can be. Often cutting useless adverbs will enhance the ones you do use, because everything isn't "very interesting" or " very neat" or "very eloquent." That's not an argument for minimalism; it's more about trusting the force of your words.
