He will never be hired by a credible company that actually know their stuff. He will go from working with one clueless small business to another, run by people who don’t know any better and who don’t do their due diligence. Short term contracts will never be renewed as it’ll quickly become apparent that he can’t add any real tangible value beyond his doodles and his insta-aesthetic. Anyone can start a print on demand t shirt shop and promote it on Instagram, and inclusion of ASA and the bars in his cv will only harm his chances of anyone taking him seriously, after even the most basic of google searches. Interesting that he’ll be working from London. The constant flitting is not a good look. Maybe he’s having to sell the house with no money coming in? Any idea what Amanda does for money outside of posting tit photos on insta for that poor shop in Edinburgh?

Is referring to yourself as a ‘disaster’ a good marketing strategy or brand identity when you’re unemployed and looking for work? Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, does it?

I wonder if we’ll see another new entry on Companies House now he’s apparently backdated having a consultancy for 4 years! Odd that he hasn’t listed the brands he’s consulted with during the last 4 years…probably because there aren’t any!

Good to see that whoever is running Abandon Ship Apparel (I’m still not convinced Rich isn’t involved) seems to have not evolved the brand in the slightest.

- still using artwork of already existing brands/comics (does he not know about copyright?)
- using a design without (or maybe he did realise and did it anyway) doing due diligence on current controversy with that design/brand/cartoon
- literally associating the brand with even more scumbag men - I see a pattern here and I don’t like it..

When he posted the design like a month ago loads of people questioned it and filled him in on what was happening but he's done it anyway.

In other news Dickie Disaster is "starting from square one", and "building from zero" by...... rebranding his muchos caballos pages

Oh I must have missed that! Wow, shows how much they give a tit then. What an awful way to conduct your business, by actively *choosing* to associate it with a tit head man. Eugh.

Also, looking at those grabs of Dickie Disaster’s new venture - this guy really is a bleeping boomerang isn’t he? Literally said he was stepping away from this stuff, to come right back and do it all over again, it’s such a common theme with these kinds of grifters. Everything goes to tit with their business, so they ‘shut up shop’ only to recycle the same concept and business idea 6-9 months later. What. Sad sack.

Also, ‘reinventing the wheel’ - god he’s sad.

I don’t think the guy who has taken over ASA is the full shilling.

At work yesterday, a couple of us were looking at Rich’s latest LinkedIn post begging Dr Martens for a job. Makes him look like a desperate one trick pony churning out that same old outdated Ed Hardy tattoo doodle design. DM are looking for innovation not just the same old stuff he’s been doing for years. I’ve not got LinkedIn so can’t post a screenshot, if anyone else can? It’s cringe fuel.

When I’ve seen creative applications or CVs before, they’ve been so much better than this, this is low tier for sure.

Does anyone know what’s happened to their house? Must be selling or renting it out if they’re applying for jobs in London?

He should be applying for creative assistant roles and working his way up rather than expecting to get lead roles right away. Not pretending to know anything about that industry, but if he’s just been an illustrator and had online shop, it doesn’t look like he has the experience required. Other applicants will have previous experience working as a lead creative, or whatever role is directly below that one. They’ll probably have art or marketing degrees with knowledge that he won’t have.

Whatever he paid to take the brand over he's been absolutely rinsed by Rich. He's given him space for a few months and now basically set up abandon2.0, I'd be livid if I were him, (not that I'd ever make such an obviously mad decision to buy a brand in the state that it is/was in)

they are missing a trick, a career in comedy might suit their talents more. Apparently he has zero pals left in Glasgow now, even the few that had given him the benefit of the doubt have done one. He was reduced to hanging around with her pals and she isn’t exactly Miss Popular. Wonder how long they will last in Margate.

That’s what happens when you screw over pals ya pair of rockets.

I’ve just looked at the Creative Lead job (I work in the industry) and he’s such a chancer. I doubt he will even get shortlisted for an interview.

He's absolutely deluded if he thinks he'd be in any way qualified for this role. I know Art Directors who have twenty years of experience that wouldn't think they'd stand a chance at this.

The idea that, as a middling illustrator with a sub degree education who's run half a dozen businesses into the ground, he thinks he stands even a remote chance of being anywhere close to shortlisted for a prestigious brand is actually quite sad. I blame the echo chamber of insta for that.

My advice would for him to eat a bit of humble pie, work to get an entry level creative role in an agency and learn how to actually work with a team to produce decent work. It's not too late for him to regain some semblance of reputation.

Bit in bold: I’m not sure I agree with this. Information is out there forever; Companies House, stuff in the press about him mugging off suppliers, etc etc. that stuff will, and should, follow him. Does he think he can just grow up and all of a sudden move into a well paid, creative industry and people
Should be grateful he’s there?

the two of them, and her pals, are victims of a horrible social media culture which has spawned entitled individuals who offer nothing in return
It’s vacuous and damaging to real creatives. I try my best to avoid brands who partner with these no-marks on social media. Not always easy, but I’d hate anyone to think I was influenced by some empty headed wanker with a couple of bad tattoos.
