When I heard it was to be a small private service I stupidly thought that meant without cameras. I couldn't believe it was televised! I felt like such an intruder to see the queen sat there all alone and the family say their last goodbye. It was a beautiful, fitting ceremony.
The queen seemed so tiny on the way out :(

Agreed, television didn't need to be inside the Chapel, or focusing on members of the family. It probably wouldn't have been so intrusive if there had been lots of mourners and scanning the crowd etc. At a loved ones funeral I think generally we feel like all eyes are on us anyway but at least its not being recorded or broadcast to the rest of the world. For all the pomp, ceremony and privilege it really is a guided cage.

Over the past few days I have been looking at photos of The Queen and Prince Philip in their younger days when they had only gotten engaged. As I saw her sitting alone in the chapel all I could see was a young Elizabeth longing for her husband. It broke my heart.

When the Queen did her first engagement post lockdown I was so shocked at how much weight she’d lost and how tiny she’s become. Today that was emphasized with her hunched appearance. She looked so fragile. There’s a picture of her sitting in H&M wedding just 3 years ago in the same seat and omg the difference is astounding, bless her

Shes almost 95 and still tottering about smiling at engagements with her all her faculties, I hope I live to see that age myself. Shes been truly blessed with good health but there is no doubt about it, she is badly failed, could be just the stress of this very emotional day. I don't think she has any notion of dying, her son could be away before her. Charles is not a well looking man.

I was never a fan of Camilla but watching her putting her hand into Charles' hand in the Chapel made me realise how much she really cares for him. It was so touching as he looked like he was in tears. A lovely poignant moment. As usual our servicemen and women did a magnificent job.

Aging is a witch isn't it. Looking at photos of the Queen when she came to the throne all fresh faced and then looking at her now, makes you realise how vulnerable we become when we age.

Love the top comments. DM insinuating what has been widely rumoured for a lot of years. Heck he even spent time alone with her for weeks on end whilst the Queen was at one of their other homes. It wasn't hidden.

Standard. Inviting her has brought this on. She won't be in Windsor again I'd say.

I'm not a monarchy "fan" as in I don't think about it much in my day to day life but I do appreciate our Queen and feel sad for her. To be her age and to go through grief publicly, bless her.

I wonder if she's still able to ride? She was on her horse as of last summer. Obviously brings her great pleasure.

She's 67 though. I mean I know male royals may like the younger woman haha, but when would rumours have been around? Even when he was 80, she would have been 47!

1994 so known each other 27 years....

So he would have been 72 and her 40. I find it odd even if they were legit just friends that a female would spend regularly time alone in the same home as a married man whilst his wife is away.
