Cards on the table

one thing that’s always puzzled me, any podcaster watches figures closely.

I took no notice of their sm initially but digging back, S announced that they had 50k downloads by episode 3.

Yet H was putting out videos explaining how they recorded (not a cupboard) but cardboard boxes over her head.

That level of downloads just does not happen unless a network is behind, so how?

Is S a sm ninja or was there money to start and if so how?

All if it is perhaps possible with the right full moon etc, but it’s odd is all I’m saying.

When did Dan Harmon mention them? I think they got a lot of followers from that. Doubt it was after ep3 though.

I always thought it was strange they had Patreon from their first episode.

I agree with the previous posts, the episodes are so boring now and just seem to be reuploads of ones they’ve covered in the past. I was thinking of being a patron before I found out that it’s not really worth it with the content you get. Also does anyone feel that Hannah seems a lot more quiet and relaxed but surithi is now the one on a high horse about EvEryThiNG and interrupting Hannah constantly? When you listen to earlier episodes Hannah was the one that would but in mid convo about something completely irrelevant but I’m really like liking Hannah now.

Casefile is another one who has done both and they don’t care because £
I thought Casefile had gone a bit rubbish as well!
I tend to not follow content creators on places other than where they post the content I consume so that explains a lot! I know Casey references a writer but I hadn't put two and two together. Shame as it was one of my favourite podcasts but I find it a bit hard to listen to and kind of boring.

The fact that I'm seeing a loss of love for Redhanded on Reddit, among my friends (I'm the last one who still listens) and now here, it's nice to have my feelings confirmed.

The girls were always a bit ignorant and rude especially when they spoke about things like religion which did touch a nerve with me but I managed to not get too offended. But it seems like the more world knowledge you'd expect them to gain through researching these stories and just progressing in their careers, the more misinformed they become.

Especially Suru. Hannah seems more open minded these days although she did apparently ask an Uber driver (people deduced it was likely he was Muslim) what his opinion was of Salman Rushdie. Just seems a bit insensitive to ask a potentially touchy question to someone especially when they're simply trying to work.

I do wonder who makes up their listeners now because I imagine a lot of us who felt a bit more aligned with their views at the start are now turned off. Not that it matters, there's probably more money to be made by appealing to anti woke types.

And I agree, the quality has declined and they seem all over the place with the case choices.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't just one uber driver. She was conducting "research" by asking any uber driver that appeared to be Muslim what they thought about the highly contentious topic.

It's unbelievable how tone deaf she is. I don't think she meant harm or offence but that doesn't make it any better.

I have stopped listening all together now. I took the 6 month free trial for Wondery plus but mostly listen to Generation Why and even that is sporadic.

I found Generation Why often made comments that veered on the edge of misogyny, I rolled my eyes a lot when listening to them.

Oh really? I haven't picked up on that in particular although I don't always agree with their views. I am a casual listener but like that they mostly get straight into to the story.

It was ages ago so I can’t remember exactly what, but yeah I didn’t agree with a lot of their views. The stories are good though.

I feel like RH has peaked now, and maybe they saw it coming hence the Wondery collab?

Perhaps Suru is panicking she can't buy her second house in London now. Did they ever do crimecon?

I remember one time a while back Hannah commenting that she was rich, and that felt so icky to me. Like I am aware you make bank, you don’t need to announce yourself as rich to the people who bankroll you 🤮

I was wondering if she sold her first house yet as I thought she made a comment about renting recently and that confused me because I thought her partner also had also bought his own place.

I feel like I heard/read people thought the Gen Why guys had questionable views a while ago but I guess I started listening when they stopped because I never caught on. I've been listening to them for ages too. Just before the pandemic I'm sure. That's when I got into most of the podcasts.

I really wish I could remember exactly what was said, potentially it was about sex workers but I can’t remember for the life of me. There were a few occasions - I probably only listened to some of their heavy hitters. I just distinctly remember being like ugh these guys are wicks 😂

I much prefer I Could Murder a Podcast as a male lead podcast.

Yeah she used to make a lot of comments about how people in the industry didn't like Redhanded because of how much money they make.
They really are both wankers tbh.

I don't think she was planning to sell the first one! I thought the boyfriend rents at the moment? I could be wrong though.

Gen Why are pro guns as well from memory. They are American though so it is common there
Yeah I'm not keen on that, although I haven't noticed them be too strong on it. More mentioning in passing they have guns and support the second amendment (I am a v casual listener though)
