I listened to something the other day and it was the redhanded two with another two and literally them just giggling at each other the whole time.
Turned it off and scrubbed my bathroom in silence.
I'm sad it's gone so crap as I used to really love it.

Sruthi really does have resting smug face doesn't she? I don't think I've seen a single photo of her where she doesn't look like she thinks she's the cleverest person in the room.

I'm glad it's not just me that's noticed her gradual drift to the right. Because I'm listening when I'm cleaning or walking to work I'm never quite giving it my full attention so I couldn't point to anything concrete but just had this feeling of enjoying each episode less and less.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has listened to their deep dive podcast yet? I'm thinking of giving it a go but I've tried so many podcasts recently where actually they'd have been fine as 2 episodes rather than dragging it out.

I listened to the first of their Filthy Ritual podcasts a week ago and haven’t got around to listening to the second one yet. It was ok but definitely had a feeling of having been drawn out. I don’t know if I’ll bother listening to the next episode - maybe.

Over lockdown too, wasn’t. Hannah fan. Really like Mr Ballen and the fact he has set up a foundation to support victims of crime and their families. I also really enjoy Twisted Britain and Unseen. Not a fan of the sensationalist gory details podcasts and prefer how some of these are more empathetic towards the victim.

When you say plagiarised, do you mean like word for word from a doc or something?

I’m always a bit confused on this when it comes up, because I guess I assume they get their info from wiki/articles/docs and then change it to make it their own. Obvs if they don’t change it then yes that’s an issue but otherwise idk where else they are meant to get the info from? But maybe I’m misunderstanding the research element?

I'm trying to find the post now, but someone on reddit broke it down really well. They basically ripped off the Times podcast that they reference a lot in it. Following the same structure and saying very similar stuff.

There are a few posts on reddit breaking down Redhanded plagiarising documentaries and podcasts. I can't verify them all but apparently some it's almost word for word.

It's one thing to pull bits from here, there and everywhere, but it's another to follow the same structure and narrative.

I'm always a bit iffy about using other podcasts as a source anyway. The information must be out there so find it yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️

To be honest I think it shows when they do cases that are less well known. They are often hard to follow (Hannah's South African cases spring to mind)

I should add to this that I have since listened to the Times series and I agree it's very similar. You could argue there is only one way to tell a story but I don't think that's true for a case like Shamima's.

I’m finding the eps so boring lately, I haven’t listened to this weeks but got halfway through last weeks and tbh didn’t bother finishing.

Haven’t listened to shorthand since it moved either 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk what’s happened but it’s just not what it was

I'm the same. I've got 4 unplayed. I've been listening to crime weekly and cherry picking the deep dives. The west Memphis 3 one is great and I've just finished the adnam saeed one. Really good.

Yeah I'm really starting to fall out of love with Redhanded. No longer a patreon and very meh over the recent episodes.

Interesting. Have been watching the patreon figures since the Wondery deal.

Is it paying £10k a month (half their wages bill) to cover the drop?

I’d imagine it it, maybe more. Or maybe the got a lump sum but I do think it will have been mega money.

How? Ok adverts (but that’s declining on RTO) so I don’t get it?

I know they are appearing in all sorts of niche events now so everyone that thinks they do their own research (along with the employee, wonder is Seb is still there?) are now the ones not happy with the episodes?
